I'm in the 21st century which is why I don't have access on my 360. I don't own an ethernet cord because why the hell would I in 2012 when there's wifi everywhere. And I damn sure don't plan on paying Microsoft to allow me to access internet I ALREADY PAY FOR.

You only pay if you're a gold member. Silver is free. Plus how do you get on without getting updates for games?

Pretty much they need to find a way to get online, or BioWare will sell a DLC disk that has the DLC on it.

wait they are going to charge offline players for the Free DLC? that doesn't sound right

If it was free online, but you can't/won't get online so they print it on disks then yes, they would need to charge.  Because they would need to make a physical product that gets packaged, shipped, and sold in a store.

So even IF BioWare took the hit on the production of the DLC and made the actual content free.  People would still need to pay the store they bought it from, the company that makes the disks and packages them, as well as those that transport them.

also, get used to it. I mean really. sooner or later there wont even be retail disks anymore, it will all be steam/origin/whatever digital downloads. will keep production costs down and prices of games.

If you don't have internet... get it, or move. This is the digital age, plus aren't you on the internet now?

the whole line about keeping prices of games down is just that....a line.  no business in their right mind is going to give up $60 a down load when the market has already proven they will pay that now.

i said don't flame

with all due respect you know the only answer is this...

your real point of the thread was to get others to agree with you so you don't feel like the only one with no DLC.

360 doesn't have wifi? Crazy. I'd just take that as a hint to use a real computer.

And while I agree that everyone should have access to the internet (as in, it's getting hard to be a full member of society without it anyway), it's still a problem that BW/EA needs to address.

Who is we? You're online right now.

1/4 of players aren't online. my friend doesn't get online. alot of gamers don't because of the economy. most of my friends have been using my colleges' computers and stopped paying for TV. Cali its rough here.

Ok, all this talks about getting online is all dandy and simple but how do you expect people in LEDC countries to do that?

Tbh this dosnt bother me in the slightest. How many people that buy this game does not have any way to get onlin? 0.5%? Seriously. Almost everyone has inett at home, if they dont they know someone that has it, and drag whatever thing they play on to their friend and download it. I know at least europe has lik 99% coverage in the western countries.

actually i looked this up a while back. almost over 2 mil are offline players. why should they have to pay for a month of online just to get a free DLC? Exactly

whatever, it may not drive retail prices down but it will kee them from rising. It truley is a very expensive part of the process to print the discs/boxes extras and ship them.

Would allow for more of the budget to go to the content, developers and quality writers. and not wasted on a game manual you will never use. Or a plastic case that does nothing.

also on a lot of campuses you can't get online. At my school not every dorm has wifi and you can only have one device online at a time.

You are correct.  It is the 21st centurey.  Where are my flying cars, dammit!?

Also, Microsoft does not charge you for online access.  Silver accounts are totally free and that is all you would need in order to download any patch or dlc.

However, If you have an older xbox without built-in wifi, then you have a valid point.  Ethernet cords are actually not expensive, though.  I can let you borrow one of mine if you'd like.

It would also push retailers like gamestop out of the market, which would probably keep prices from falling some there'd be less competition from third party sellers.

Jeez, pretty much everyone on the bloody planet can get acces to internet for a download. Libraries usually have this, and allow users to get online. One of your friends will have it. Heck i dont even get the problem, everyone, and i mean EVERYONE i know has internett in some shape or form. They even usually have 2 subs, one really fast for their home, and one for their cellphone, which they can theter to w/e they need internet on when they travel. If you live in deepest africa you probably dont have a pc/xbox and do not need internett to DL a DLC for a game.

If you're buying $65-70 games on $300+ consoles, you should be able to have an internet connection and Xbox Live/PSN/whatever.
