Just to let Xbox 360 players know that you can plug your Xbox into the internet and get free game updates, simply make a free live account. You can access the Xbox store and freely distributed game updates and patches, just not multiplayer and other features.

Can you even install the game without going online?

EDIT: Oh, consoles. Right.

Just some information that I don't see mentioned anywhere in this thread, but even if you do download the DLC to your 360...you have to have a connection to the internet EVERYTIME you load your game to verify the content.

So if you don't have a constant internet connection...I wouldn't worry about dragging your xbox over to a friend's with an internet connection.

this isn't true I play with DLC all the time on my 360 and on my PS3 without a connection

It's not even fair to really say it's an "occupy Bioware" thread. I know a few OWSers and they are actually reasonable. This is just a whine thread to whine.

If you want things you have to find a job. Period. If you don't want to work you have to understand that you can't have everything. Sorry, but that's just how life is.

In fact on my PS3 my copy of ME2 itself is a digital download and I can play whether I'm online or not.

I'm in the 21st century which is why I don't have access on my 360. I don't own an ethernet cord because why the hell would I in 2012 when there's wifi everywhere. And I damn sure don't plan on paying Microsoft to allow me to access internet I ALREADY PAY FOR.

If you have a 360 slim, it already has wireless.

XBOX is free unless you want to pay for Gold.

Silver will get you access to any DLC you want.

i said don't flame

with all due respect you know the only answer is this...

your real point of the thread was to get others to agree with you so you don't feel like the only one with no DLC.

no not at all. i asked exactly how it was stated how BW would make it so that offline people would get it. and this answer was "pay online to get free dlc" see the problem buddy o pal? :)

Jessica Merizan said in tweets that Bioware would like to put all upcoming DLC on discs. But if they do that, then it wont be "FREE" it cost money to do that. digital downloads are dirt cheap to supply. by HAVING to include disc cost for you, you up the price on us non disc users

so you are saying my friend's $60 doesn't get him the full game? Awesome

If your friend is playing it on an xbox, he will also have to pay a monthly subsrciption for a gold Membership, in order to play the multiplayer bit. Wich is something he will have to do if he wants to get a high enough EMS to get the perfect ending.

also why not rage at x-box
this is not a pc or ps3 issue..

because it is their product. you are to sell the entire game as a full. to pay $60 and say that isn't the entire story to come with it that you only paid for 95% of the game but the other 5% we are having a DLC which is free but offline will have to pay after already paying $60 means they didn't get their full product which they paid for. my friend's probably would have returned the game but Gamestop is having so many return the game they are no longer accepting returns for money back it got that bad.

Not sure how long ago, but create a Silver account; this is free and gives you access to dlc and stuff just not gold content.

No, it is called bridging and simply turns your PC into a network switch. You can basically connect every device to the internet this way. Your computer just relays all the data.

But you did technically get endings, just not the endings you wanted. You just have to imagine the expanded endings or read about them if they are DLC ones, therefore you did get a full product.

I've seen people on welfare with cable.  I also remember when all my family had was dial-up (this was post 2000 btw) as a kid and I spent days downloading hundreds of megabytes of whatever.

It's doable.

Yes, but we were talking about allowing the Xbox to access Live not aquiring the actual internet connection.

Not true at all.

When I play DA2 (Yes, I like it fine and play it, get over it. Posted Image) and want to do the quest end exploit to max out my levels, I can delete the patch that fixes it, disconnect from the net, start my game and I still have access to my DLC.

Before I got a looooong asst Ethernet cable putting dlc on my Xbox meant dragging it and my 32" flat screen to my hub. It was a hard time but I stuck with it.

I said no ignorant flame comments please. if you don't have anything nice to say then please be a good citizen and don't say anything :)

If you're buying $65-70 games on $300+ consoles, you should be able to have an internet connection and Xbox Live/PSN/whatever.

have you ever thought he might of got an xbox back in 2007 and that it actually cost $60 for ME3? and that is all he paid for this year? na clearly you did because everyone buys a new xbox every year is your belief right? please think before you speak with assumption lol

Also just for reference I bought my 360 entirely using trade in value I'd built up over the years (including from trading in my original xbox and ps2 and a relatives wii) I also bought the first Mass Effect (3 years after it came out) with that. Then I bought ME2 about 6-7 months after it came out for like 40 bucks. So all in all I've only spent about 40 bucks out of pocket for the 360 and two games, and they're the only games I own for it. I only bought it to play bioware games.

Basically every game I buy I buy using trade in credit, I play it nonstop for like 2-3 weeks and then trade it back in rinse, wash, repeat. And I always follow gamestop for when they have the buy 2 used get one used free deals because I can trade the used games back in+ the free used one and end up getting similar total value.

ya unfortunantly GS here just cut all returns. no one can return the game for any profit at all because so many wanted a refund. ya it got bad here but aprently they will accept it back for free lol haha ya i know no one is going to do that haha. im just stop buying from alot of dev companies because im done with these poor business practices and some people on here just expect 2 mil offline players to pay for online. the word **** now makes more sense. i don't thinkit was Bioware's fault but with EA i have lost turst it and the fanboys dont realzie how BS that is to do to a customer. my 2 friends were big fans of ME and to have that done to them was like spitting at them in the face. im guessing they aren't being EA games for a while, maybe like 5 years min.

Basically do what my [offline] friend does. I pick up his Xbox, haul it to my house, put it on my network, download what's needed, test, deliver the XBox back to friend.

Process is annoying but it's simple enough.

I remember downloading Counter-strike on 56k. Set that download up over night. Pray that you don't lose a connection  for 7 hours. 86megs of download was rough!

Again clearly you haven't read. i am asking this for friends that don't have online. you will understand the money alot better when you go to college where alot of people aren't as fortunate. over 2 million gamers are offline players and all i said was you answer are pretty much saying "to get free DLC you must pay for online see the problem?"

lol, dude, your wrong

seriously, your trollin, maybe not on purpose but. the above statement is misguided and childish in every way. Go back to your occupy movement to see if you can protest your way into getting things companies spend money on for free.

you cant whine your way into free internet.

im out

the DLC is for Free it was already told and then to tell offline it isnt would be insulting. a how does the saying go? oh ya "telling someone they are trolling is trolling". anyways no im just not going to buy from BW or EA or whoever decides that offline players will have to pay for the ending DLC then in that case my inside source will let me know who is responsible and i just wont purchase anything from them for future sales. and maybe a little leak and have 2+ mil not buy from them either maybe, not a whole lot.

You do realise that in ME2 you didn't get the DLC content on disc either (even though Cerberus Network was free), so why should it be any different now?

If the DLC is free then the easiest way to get it to people who, Bizarrely, Don't have an Internet connection for their xbox would be to simply make the patch freely available over the Internet for whatever console.

Then use a USB stick or something to get it to your Xbox.

If you can't find a place to access the Internet for free or cheap, nor can you find a USB stick for free or cheap then...what the hell, man? Have you just appeared from the 18th century?

well u have possiblity there for once someone had an Effing idea. maybe they can email them with a free code for xbox to go online and get the ending. and no just because not everyone plays online means they are from the 18th century. wait til you are in my friends' shoes and you will understand as i stated their situation way back.

Im not looking but my 2 friends that are offline have been and really there is NOTHING and most of these people online are kids where their parents pay for it and then others are just lucky they still have their jobs after the collapse. almost 10% sales tax now over here. wanna move back? :) No one has the simple luxury of moving when they are just affording to get by and the find out their money they rightfully paid for didn't give them the full game and that they need to pay more. i can definitely see bioware is going to lose alot of said for next game series they start like KoR because of problems like this.

boo ****ing hoo..

is this a whine thread or what..

face it dude, now its just " I cant afford things, but i want things, how can i get things without earning things" thread

we all have it tough. grow up. I was nicer before when there was a chance that you actually wanted an answer. Now you are just flooding this place with your tears.
