 It seems many people have their own "right" reason for holding the line. What do you think is the REAL purpose for this Retake movement?

My uneducated guess would be to get a better ending.

Because I want a new ending? Why else would anybody want to hold the line?

I don't.

Though I do think the the endings were just a casserole of unmitigated nonsense.

Im past caring about the game or the franchise really. I think its bleeding out before our eyes.

Im "holding the line" to keep Bioware to their words and their promises (or lack of same).

Because I believe the trilogy needs the high quality, well written send off it deserves.

But that's just me :)

I want endings that are morally sound and do not fit this deffanition of the United Nations crimes against humanity.

For the purpose of this Statute, "crime against humanity" means any of the following acts when committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack directed against any civilian population, with knowledge of the attack:[20]

(a) Murder;
(B) Extermination;
© Enslavement;
(d) Deportation or forcible transfer of population;
(e) Imprisonment or other severe deprivation of physical liberty in violation of fundamental rules of international law;
(f) Torture;
(g) Rape, sexual slavery, enforced prostitution, forced pregnancy, enforced sterilization, or any other form of sexual violence of comparable gravity;
(h) Persecution against any identifiable group or collectivity on political, racial, national, ethnic, cultural, religious, gender as defined in paragraph 3, or other grounds that are universally recognized as impermissible under international law, in connection with any act referred to in this paragraph or any crime within the jurisdiction of the Court;
(i) Enforced disappearance of persons;
(j) The crime of apartheid;
(k) Other inhumane acts of a similar character intentionally causing great suffering, or serious injury to body or to mental or physical health.

Because it feels like Bioware is the company that first led me to belive that games could be art. A that caused me to feel more emotions than any other game company.

But now, with Dragon Age 2 and the ME3 endings, all I feel is dissapointment.

Because the ending to a trilogy needs to be an actual ending, not a pseudo-psychological lecture that tells us to fill in the vague holes ourselves.

I enjoy how you emphasize on 'right' as if to say its only right in their minds and not in a literal sense. What do I think the 'real' purpose of Retake is. I think its a poorly structured group of kids who are desperately trying everything in their power to use hate and threats to get their way. Least, that's how they have been expressing themselves over the media and their posts. They all seem to have different agendas personally but carry the same banner which is to say they are all in agreement OR they simply don't care about their members just the sheer size of their group as a whole to throw their weight around to seem more 'powerful' so they simply cannot be dismissed or labeled minorities which they are.

To get a halfway decent ending to an otherwise very enjoyable trilogy.

To get an ending that actually has closure and narrative cohesion with the rest of the trilogy. That said, I generally choose not to argue about it because far too many idiots prefer to generalize the other group and many throw extremely weak arguments and conjecture.

Some have, not the entire group like you make it sound. Every group has it's idiots and every group has it's mature ones, even the "pro-ending" group; and generalizing everyone only makes you come off as one of the idiots on your side. And where is your proof that they're the "minority"?

Because the ending killed a nearly perfect game. I want a decent ending that makes sense, without plotholes, that makes me feel like my decisions mattered and with a good epilogue talking about the future of every major character and every race. I would also like having the option for a happy ending if possible, very hard to get. Using the IDT would be the best way to fix all this IMHO.

Because the ending (yes, ending, there's only one Posted Image) is not a worthy conclusion to the Mass Effect saga. Because I want closure and not spacemagic. Because I want my choises to matter. Because I don't want to feel dead inside everytime I think about ME3 (which I enjoyed immensely up until that sorry excuse for an ending). And because I know Bioware can do better, waaaay much better than what we got.

Soooo....

We used "hate" and "threats" to raise $80,000 for children.

No. We took our dissatisfaction and dissapointment and decided to raise attention to our movement through positive means. And, before you go off saying, "Yeah, good for you, you hijacked a charity" just realize exactly what really transpired. We gained Bioware's and the media as a whole's attention through expressing our dissatisfaction by donating to children.

Child's Play is not complaining about that $80,000 they now have, and RetakeME has gained some real traction. It was a win/win for everyone.

Seriously, look at what the movement that you are condeming has acomplished, look at your post and ask yourself: Who exactly is the kid hating on everything here?

long winded reasons abound.

the truth is they have nothing better to do.

i mean if they cant see the stupidity in all this just over an ending to a video game you cant expect them to turn thier attention 180 degrees and see what they are actually crying over.

its been nothing but rude and ignorant from day 1.
no wonder theres so many therapists these days,all trying to combat selfish entitlment issues.
