I think I have heard a few people speak knowledgeably on the subject and I also understand that it is quite a complex system, so I was wondering who the expert is so I could have some assistance in getting this whole affair sorted properly - the SOZ overland map wandering monster/encoutner system.

I downloaded that tutorial too... it was of very little help. I ended up exploring the SoZ modules and trying to figure things out for myself. I've now got a basic overland map in my next module (with Hellfire's horses!) - although without any hostile encounters. I'll be using it more as an interactive worldmap.

Jabberwocky has a fully functional OM with hostile encounters (SoZ style) and OM locations with extra text options like resting in a tavern without going into the town area itself.  After I get the alpha done, I'll go back and get neutral encounters working along with OM foraging.  All of this works with a full SoZ style party as well.

I started with Wyrin's OM Demo available on the vault and then did a truck load of customizing.  It is not easy or intuitive...frankly it's a miracle it works at all.  The tutorials available are lacking critical information that Obsidian never filled in.

I believe the tutorial left out the critical information about placing a spawning waypoint for the hostile monsters without it the wandering monsters will not spawn.

When I started my olm I went into SOZ and Wyrin's WPM. I just went through everything I could find and do some good old fashion pillaging.
