So I tried to understand your reasoning for creating the Reapers in a scientific and logical way. I ended up with a nosebleed, spent 2 hours barking at my dog and blacked out to awaken naked and in a pool of blood that was not mine. Any idea at where I might have forgot to carry a one?

Why is the starchild introduced in the last 5 minutes of a 70+ hour story to resolve the main conflict? Isn't that an overly simplistic way to reach a resolution and an indication of very poor writing?
