Listen to people who use the terms WRPG and JRPG because they don't understand what RPGs are about.

That's a bold claim. If you don't mind enlightening them all about the different philosophies, storytelling techniques, aesthetics, traditions, histories, focus of each and then give us examples of both typical and atypical W and J RPGs.

Erm, i'd also add not make it as well. There will always be a vocal minority who hops on forums to spout about what they hated in any game and make it look like everybody else hated it, too. We saw that with the ME3 ending.

What I find curious is that all dissent is by a 'extreme minority'. What evidence do we have that the ME3 ending debacle which, according to EA/BioWare was the largest reaction towards a video game ending in the History of video games, was perpetrated by a minority?

Because it was not a minority. It is pretty hated. Not because it was not "happy" because it made no sense and broke lore. It offered more questions rather than a conclusion. I loved 99% of that game but found the ending broken.

I use the term JRPG and WRPG because in my opinion they are not in the same class. The focus is different. Sure they can be compared but they are easier to contrast them and well, to each their own.

Worst thing? While they said the points they talked about at Pax East were not hard and fast guarantees, if they ignored the issues of more environments, companion equipment, and decisions that matter that would be a death sentence for DA3

Make it an MMO or anything remotely related to it.

worst thing I can think of would be to end the game with some ghostly kid appear from nowhere and make some extremely dubious claims which the player is not allowed to argue with. Then offer the player a choice which allows the player to see one of 3 virtually identical end scenes in different colours none of which reveal what happened to everybody at the end

just kidding ...no-one would end a game like that

the real worst thing would be forcing multiplayer in

Is it an issue against ALL Day 1 DLC, or is something like Shale/Stone Prisoner acceptable, and it's only the idea of something like From Ashes that really bothered people?

motivating people to buy the game new is no problem, you guys have to make money and I have no problem buying it new (i preorder every BW game anyway), Shale was cool and so was Zaeed

From Ashes is just.. wrong.

The worst thing? Like if they wanted to do something really mean towards all DA2 critics?  Image IPB Just to get some twisted revenge?

Give the licence to Square Enix. Image IPB

(Lol, Image IPB  I suppose my head is tired now, just coming up with such things.)

P.S. yep I'm tired gonna lie down a bit.

Origin would make it a no buy, so for me that would be the worst.

If they make more 'business' decisions when crafting the game than decisions that will result in a better game.

Because whenever EA/Bioware has made a business decision instead of a decision in the best interest of the player, it seems to hurt their profits. As can be seen by the fact that the last game they made that they suspected wasn't going to make them any money (Origins) has continued to be one of their best selling games to date.

I would suggest EA/Bioware create a list of things they wouldn't do if they wanted to make money while designing a game - and then do it. Then swim in the piles of cash afterwards because it will sell through the roof.

(1) Another cliffhanger ending that is designed to nickel and dime us with dlc.
(2) Not tweaking/fixing the current headmorph "art" style.
(3) Huge amounts of auto-dialogue
(4) Unable to access content without playing multiplayer or third party devices.

There is actually a list put up by someone earlier in this thread that I actually agree with completely. And here it is below

Brockololly wrote...

Kinect/Move controls
Facebook/Twitter integration
Microtransactions
Day One DLC
Origin exclusive
No tactical camera
Dialogue wheel with worthless paraphrases
Multiplayer that sucks resources away from single player
No mod support
Making combat more real time, thereby further marginalizing full party tactical control
Not beefing up the graphics on a technical level
Mage/Templar War with one note cardboard cutouts like Orsino and Meredith
Rushing the game out
Not including some kind of narrative dénouement
Import bugs
Pointless cameos and/or bugged cameos
Uncanny Valley plastic faces like DA2
Recycled dungeons/maps
and probably more...

Now the Day one DLC I wouldn't mind if it was included in the normal Game, as the way that I see it, instead of saying making it a DLC if you are able to have it on day one, then just actually put it into the game and avoid the whole "Oh hey look at this! Day one DLC! Give us your money!" type thing.

I'd say having our choices mean nothing would be the one thing that would prevent from purchasing the next game in the franchise, if that is the case then why even play the first games and DLC? If it is just going to be railroaded and made canon regardless?
I wouldn't mind if they took the extra time to just make it to where our choices actually mattered. I've seen mentioned the OGB And Morrigan and either doing or not doing the DR (either don't have the child show up or at least not an OGB since in the epilogue if you romanced morrigan that she was with child. Of course that would be if you didn't accept the DR)
Zevran some how being alive/still being Zevran in his flirty ways in DA2 even if you killed or romanced him. Leliana being there on several occasions in DA2 even if you romanced her in DA: O, I can understand that some of that may have been during the time of awakening, GoA, and WH, but something just doesn't sit well.
Mostly having the proper reactions to what your Warden and Champion did through the imports, if your warden and/or your Champion was kind of a D*ck or B*itch then the peoples reactions should be kind of mixed in my honest opinion, not this constant "Oh my it's the Warden/Champion that some how saved the day!" Throw in some people who just don't flat out like them or something like the one guy in the crowd that goes "Boo! *hiss*" just something more of a reaction to what my character is doing in the world then just everyone being a little sheep because I just happened to put a weapon through someones head. But of course the is just me.

make the enging where you meet the maker and you chices are to A: control everyone, thus ening the war between DA2's end (wont give away spoilers ppl who finished it know what im talking); B: fuse everyone with a demon thus bringing understanding and peace; and C: kill everyone so that no one can kill anyone again.

if you know what im describing good for you if not look it up (ME3)

EDIT: I forgot that no matter choice you pick you die a painfull death and through some space/time anomally the warden (if he lived in your game) and hawke both die for no reason

The absolute worst thing they could do is ignore the criticism DA2 received and remake the same mistakes.

Also, telling a story around ONE area is fine as long as that area is large and it is dynamic. Kirkwall was the most bland, boring ****hole I've ever guided a virtual character around. And to say nothing of the fact that in 10 YEARS!!!! of gametime all that happened was the city gained a Statue at the docks. Big Wow.

Worst things in my opinion would be

-More recycled areas (DA2)
-Less dialogue/fewer dialogue options (ME3)
-Pointless fetch quests (DA2, ME3) you get some money or an intangible war asset, but they are not fun to do AT ALL, they are a complete chore and waste of time.
-More anime/ JRPG direction (ninja pretty boy Kai Leng, DA2 animu elves, ME3 endings)
-No variety in endings (DA2, ME3) There should at least be two distinct ones such as good or evil (KotOR, Jade Empire) sad or happy (DA:O, ME2) etc...
-Choices don't have much/ any effect on the game

Everything on this list! But of course there's a lot more ways to screw DA 3 up.

What thing would you absolutely hate for the devs to do?

Make it an MMO?
Canonize the Old God Baby?
Bring Anders back from the dead even if you killed him in DA II?
Introduce guns into the setting?

Those most definitely lol

Keeping the 'Lightspawn' instead of bringing the old Darkspawn design back, or mking them more scary/corrupt looking.
