Were you okay with the revelation that he was working with Cerberus and his death?

Personally I was a bit disappointed that there was no way to bring him in alive just so he could explain himself.

I would have liked to know more about his motivation. Was he indoctrinated, or just a jerk?

I thought it was well done. I didn't see it coming, but when it happened I wasn't surprised. I kind of always hated Udina, so I'm glad Kaidan killed him.

I think he was just a jerk.  If you let the council die in ME1, he talks about it like it's a great opportunity to seize control.  I think he saw a chance to strike at the council when they were weak and jumped at it.

Least he was lucky enough to have not seen the ending.

I blew him away, but I thought I would just shoot his arm or leg to keep him from shooting. Didn't expect him to be one-shotted.

I made Anderson the councilor in ME1 for a reason, because I knew Udina was an asswipe.

I'd like an answer to that too.

Same. I would loved to have interogated him, but whatever. Sometimes you just have to put a bastard down.

I was actually rather unimpressed. I wanted to know his motivation, and while I would have shot him regardless...to see him just sort of fall over and die was dull and unsatisfying.

Udinas been a jerk since the first game. I didn't need to know any more about him. It didn't surprise me at all that he turned out to be a turncoat, and he got what he deserved.

No, the guy was an ass from the start. Hated him since I've met him. Didn't really surprise me that he'd ally himself with Cerberus purely for more power. I was mostly disappointed that Anderson couldn't just remain councilor. I understand why they couldn't though because then they would need to invent a new character to lead the resistance on earth and somehow incorporate the Cerberus attack with a completely different person.

Udina had contacted Cerberus to coordinate what was intended to be a bloodless takeover of the Citadel, in which he would force the other councilors to grant him emergency powers so that he could command the Citadel Fleet. He would then direct the fleet to liberate his homeworld, Earth.

He tried to get things going while COuncil was unwilling. He took extreme steps to achieve it, trying to eliminate the Council, but yeah, you can kinda understand it. There was a speculation line about Udina's indoctrination,l but I don't think it's what Bioware eventually intended. There was focus on Udina's extreme frustration with the Council and how he clearly wanted to "do" something about it.

I personally always found Undina rather annoying as a person anyway, so kinda suspected he'd eventually do something very silly, but when he was discovered to have betrayed the council, I was surprised. Probably more because there was no real hint at it, and yeah, the inability to bring him in alive was irritating. Seemed weird that Kaiden seemed to -really- want to shoot someone, too. First you, then Udina. If Udina had surrendered, I half-expected Kaiden to just shoot himself as a release of tension.

I had a hunch he was with them ever since reading Mass Effect Inquisition. I have no regrets shooting that bastard.Posted Image

To be fair, I would have liked to have seen it played it rather than just read about it. That's more "telling" than "showing", which I don't like.

Shot him myself though.
Kaidan has enough mental scarring. Plus, it felt good. I wanted it for 5 years. Too bad there wasn't more blood...

It was out of left field, I wish they'd given us more subtle hints rather than just random "Oh yeah he's with cerberus now" without ever having linked him to it (or their overtly pro-human ideology)

Didn't feel bad about shooting him though, he pointed a gun at the other councilor and I DIDNT MAKE ANDERSON COUNCILOR IN ME1 JUST FOR IT TO BE RETCONNED BY ME3.

I hated Udina and I couldn't press that Renegade button hard enough when I could kill him.

I had to kill him myself because Kaiden was busy being shot by me.
