While I'm generally a believer in taking a criminal in alive, I was perfectly fine with shooting Udina (or having Kaidan do it). I've always thought that he was a weasel, so it wasn't a complete surprise - although I admit that at the start of ME3, Udina had me convinced that he wasn't a total jerk (oops).

I would've liked it if things were clarified a bit more, though I'm still not thrilled with it. Udina was an obstructive bureaucrat, sure, but I never saw him as straight-up villain that deserved to be shot. The whole thing felt like they wanted to allow fans who hated him in the first couple games to kill him.

You didn't read the Cerberus Coup entry in the Codex?

I did, and that helped matters. After listening to my friends (who don't read the Codex or any other materials) cheer about getting to put Udina down, I just wish it had been made clearer in game somehow. Reading the Codex puts things into perspective. If you don't, it seems to come out of nowhere and just paint him as a jerk.

Frankly, I kinda wish we had an option to hear him out, or talk him another way.

I finally started to have some half-respect for the guy with some of his dialogue in the game, then he goes and allies with Cerberus, the crazed, incompetent murderers.

I had mixed feelings, on one side he was an excellent politician on the other he held Shepard back. I'm not sure if I would forgive him for what he had done, but I certainly understood why he felt he needed to do it (under the assumption he was acting in humanity's best interest not allied with Cerberus or indoctrinated). He's a politician, we're not supposed to like politicians, but I respected him.

I totally didn't see that scene coming so I loved that part.  I thought Udina was a dick, but not a traitor.

The short comic about Baily also made more sense  now so I thought that was cool.

but then I guess the Citadel is destroyed anyway so who cares......  (still bitter)

I had been second-guessing my decision to put Anderson on the council since I made it, since Udina is obviously the better politician, and because Anderson was obviously more comfortable being a military man. But I ultimately chose Anderson because I trusted him to take a more rounded view of the situation that Udina. Sure, Udina's probably a big reason why humanity moved up in the galaxy so fast, but when you get to the top, you want someone who is willing to stay there rather than keep trying to find things to climb over.

Yeah, I saw it coming. Inquisitor makes it fairly clear that Udina's up to something. Sure, Executor Pallin wasn't keen on humans, but his reasons for being so were very rational and well thought out. I had a lot of respect for the guy.

I would have liked to interrogate Udina, sure. But this is war, and I couldn't take the chance of him shooting the asari council member. And if Kaiden was any bit wishy-washy about shooting the human with the most political power ever, I wasn't going to leave the guilt to him. I figured he could always blame me later if he changed his mind. He's good at that.

I would have liked to know more about his motivation. Was he indoctrinated, or just a jerk?

I'd like an answer to that too.

Udina had contacted Cerberus to coordinate what was intended to be a bloodless takeover of the Citadel, in which he would force the other councilors to grant him emergency powers so that he could command the Citadel Fleet. He would then direct the fleet to liberate his homeworld, Earth.

Its all in the codex

I totally missed that. That actually clears a lot up. Thanks for posting.

I was more dissapointed that you could only kill him, than his working for Cerberus, which I already suspected frankly.

They should have given us the options of either taking him alive, or supporting him, even if it had to be in secret.

But then I'd have liked the option to be pro Cerberus, even if I wouldn't have used it with the majority of my Shepards.

Personally I was a bit disappointed that there was no way to bring him in alive just so he could explain himself.

When I first saw that Udina was working to help everyone I was ecstatic. But then .. well .. reality kicked in lol.

I disagree, only because I wanted to kill Udina since ME1.

I hate politicians in general, so needless to say I enjoyed shooting him. But really I didn't see that coming... He does say if you ask him, before the coup, that he is working on something, I was worried when I heard that because I didn't trust him from the beginning. Never could have guessed that he worked with cerberus though...

I didn't mind how that played out. It made sense, in a way. He was the kind of jerk who would do that, and it showed once again how big and dangerous Cerberus was.

Would have preferred a headshot though. Just seems so much more final.

No. It was another case of idiotic fan pandering.

This!

Seriously, just because fans thought he was a jerk, because heaven forbid that someone isn't all nice and brownnosing their Shepards.

The coup made no sense, it was OOC for Udina and was poorly explained.

I liked being able to shoot him, so Imma go with yes, even though I do wish the coup had been better explained (the purpose of it). I don't think it was OOC for him to take part on it though (this is the same man that was jumping in joy the minute the old Council was killed, so that humanity could take over).

I would have liked them to build up to it more, or at least have the option to take him in alive for questioning. But overall it was well done.

It is ooc because Udina is not stupid, and the coup itself is stupid. How the hell does he expect that the other races would listen to him exactly? No, it doesn't make sense.

The whole deal with his betrayal seemed rather sudden and unexplained.

I mean he was always an ass, but him just jumping the fence like that seemed out of the blue.

It's an idiotic quest so that Udina haters kill him.

What about choice Bioware, what of those that do not want to kill him and just for the record I always made Anderson Councilor and saved the Destiny Ascension.
