OK, Guys, first off I'm sorry if this thread has something wrong, is posted in the wrong sub-forum and my english sucks, but I'm italian, so I expect full cooperation on this matter.
I'm a "dragon Age" philologist, meaning I'm playing the games, not only because I LOVE them, but also because I want to live the "canon" experience from origins, Awakening, 2 and all the linked DLCs.
I know that many users and David Gaider himself loathe the idea, but this is my personal "mission" and I would like to find some others interested in my search for the truth.

These are my personal view on the story, if there's something wrong, you can point it out.

1)The Warden survives the Archdemon and enacts the Dark Ritual with Morrigan, otherwise "Witch hunt" has no reason to come to be, because I don't see the standard orlesian guy go after Morrigan. Or...the Witch Hunt is just a "what if" scenario, much like Darkspawn Chronicles. Is that true?

2)in Dragon Age 2 many people complained about some "unavoidable" events, such as leliana surviving despite her death in some Origins playthroughes.

*Now I'd like to know from some Dragon Age nerd :
what are the forced consequences in Dragon Age 2 from Origins
(please list them all here, or give a me link)

*According to the choices stated above, what are the effects on the storyline in DA2.

PS: I know that many players are against the whole "searching for official truth" or the "canon" ending, so i beg you to refrain from posting silly comments like "just enjoy the game", "don't give a heck about the story because neither DG does"...I'd like to read only answers that could bring something useful and constructive.
Thanks in advance.:D

Yep, Leliana and Anders live even though people have killed them off. Leliana simply says "The Maker decided it was not my time" and Anders say to Nathaniel "Do all mages look alike to you?" implying that the mage that was killed if he was left at Vigil's Keep wasn't him.

Before I go on, just want to make sure you if you really want to be spoiled for this. I don't feel like typing them all out (mostly because I don't know most of them) but you aren't missing much since its mostly just codex information, but, here's a link with every little change.

I don't care if its a wiki, its very accurate.

oh, one last thing. I wanted to know: does the "Witch Hunt" dlc really take place, or is a "what if "scenario like "darkspawn chronicles"?

Darkspawn Chronicles is the only "what if" scenerio - where The Warden perished. Awakening is the expansion, Golems of Amgarrak happens next, and it concludes with Witch Hunt.

Both Anders' and Lelianna's deaths are recognized by the game, so they aren't forced canon, they both just somehow cheated death. The only thing I can think of that is forced, is that Anders joined the Grey Wardens even if you send him away in DA:A.

X brushyourteeth: thanks for the kind words.

After completing the "Darkspawn Chronicles", I was wondering if the forced choices (Alistair aligning with the wolves during "Nature of the beast", etc) have some consequence in DA2.

Indeed, i had to kill Anderson my playtrought. I wish it was possible toall party members survive just likein DA:O. Anyway, yeah, DA2 save imports are a bity creepy. You can kill Zevran and he will magically reapear on the game.

Might have been a bug. I killed Zevran in dao and he never showed up in DA2, which kinda sucked because I couldn't get Isabella's last armor piece.

It's impossible to tell because the writers can handwave away anything about the plot by using "Varric exaggerated" or "Varric lied"

Witch Hunt is canon, but I think it's slightly different if you didn't do the ritual.

I think there was a comic that came out which featured Alistair as king, so that decision is canon (although, DA2 will change based on what you did, it doesn't force Alistair being the king on you).

The comic wasn't intended to make the Dark Ritual canon, it was intended to show that Morrigan wanted to perform the Dark Ritual because she cared about The Warden. Gaider addressed that they didn't have the time or the resources to include the scene in the actual game, but that it was part of the reason why Morrigan wanted to save the life of the protagonist. All of the developers who have addressed the OGB have said that the Old God Baby decision won't be made canon for those who have chosen not to perform the ritual with Morrigan.
