Let be honest, in Mass Effect 2 it was the best to park them behind a wall to prevent death and use their powers frequently.
The squadmate ai really improved.

But, I guess I expected Insanity to be really tougher.
Just saying, considering I was lvl.57 with all weaps and all lvl.V.... I figured it would be a tough run even then but so far its like a noob "normal" run.
yeah, its kind of easy there is some more challenging areas but it's mostly confined spaces or nades thrown at you all the time.
simple strategies will get you past them even if you go triple soldier lol

Nades are the only hard thing imo...Dridengx wrote...

Squadmates are not completly braindead anymore(in the first game, this doesnt matter much thanks to armor damage reduction, barriers and immunity). Thats why. Even Liara with her very low health/shields rarely ever needs reviving on insanity.

While I think the veracity of your comment about ME2 depends largely on what class you're playing and where you are on the battlefield, I will agree that squadmates do seem better at keeping themselves alive now. I used most of my medigel to replenish my life, not to revive squadmates in ME3.

The only class in Mass Effect 2 where they didnt die in seconds was the vanguard because all enemies concentrate on shepard there.

That's fairly accurate, but you could frontline with any class effectively in ME2 and absorb enemy fire. I would argue that as long as you were in front of your squadmates they tended to survive better. Of course Vanguards are capable of reaching the front faster than other classes.

Yes,but that shouldnt be necessary and isnt in Mass Effect 3.No everyone like it to be in front especially with caster classes.

This is another reason why Insanity is easier...
Your squadmates are so much better, both at keeping themselves alive and also at making kills...I can't actually remember my ME2 teammates actually being useful (I always just put them on "don't use powers" to save myself the hassle) whereas I kid you not, the kai leng fight on hardcore, Garrus and Liara actually beat him down without me even firing one shot/or using a power on him...
I was like, "ok, let me clear out the gutter trash and then I'll deal with Kai Leng"
(5 minutes later): "ok, trash mobs done, time for kai (garrus and liara walking up to me and no leng anywhere)....oh, well, that was anticlimatic"

Agreed. It's one area that ME3 has improved on. Squadmates still fall in combat, but not nearly as often as they did in ME2.

Anyway, I'm sorry, but when people start threads to pound their chest about difficulty in ME games, I always have to laugh a little. These are not hard games, nobody who knows anything ever said they were, and bragging about how easy you think they are makes you look like a fool. You want to score mad gamer skillz points, do a no-level up playthrough of Demon's Souls or something.

I then tried fighting at a distance and behind cover, but things just would not die fast enough. By the time I destroyed the pylon and shield generator and killed the shields on a turret gun than killed the armor on the turret gun they had either overrun me or just dropped 2 more guns to take their place or threw up smoke grenades while tossing grenades at me to get me out of cover, at that point if the turrets didn't get me the atlas mech missles did. What was maddening was even if I focus on just killing cerberus gradually behind cover, they just kept spawning in indefinitely.
I kept thinking, if only I could sabotage those turret guns... Such as it was, my "OP" vanguard just wasn't able to make it happen.

I don't run with any big weapons either. All I had was the Palladin and Tempest SMG so that may be why too. Need my +200% recharge.

I would argue that turrets have a level of difficulty associated with them that would seem more reasonable if it weren't in such stark contrast to basically every other enemy in the game. The only* enemies that come close to their brutal efficiency are Harvesters, as far as I can tell. Turrets' DPS only seems ridiculous because every other enemy treats Shepard with kid gloves.
*Not including one hit kills.

I only used AP rounds for harvesters and brutes really...that + widow would bring them down in about 2 shots. The hardest part of the game was marauder shields!!! lol I had to reload that one 6 times. I expected it to be a little more difficult during the missile battery defense but it wasn't too bad. I only took down one of the banshees when the 4 showed up...as soon as the missiles were ready I just went invisible and ran for that switch!
All in all not too bad...
