Hey guys, quick question here.

I played through ME1 on a Windows XP system back when it first came out. I kept my saves on an external hard drive until now. I have finished ME3 and I want to start a new character up on ME1. I decided to buy ME1 on Steam when it was on sale just to have digital security. I now want to take my saves from ME1 (XP version) off the external HD and load them into my Steam save file for a new playthrough of ME1. When I copied the saves into my ME1 save folder (path I used = My Computer < OS(c:)<Users<Me<My Documents<Bioware<Mass Effect<Save (on Windows 7)) and started it up, the game did not recognize my old save files. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get my game to recognize these files. 

This is horribly convoluted but I hope it is understandable.
