RDR was great.
I might be in the minority here, but Fallout 3, before the patch. It sucked because it killed DLC but I felt the original ending fit the story.
People bring up Fallout 3 a lot, but I remember the majority of the annoyance at the ending being over the fact that you COULDN'T continue playing. I don't recall a lot of people complaining about the actual ending itself. (and Broken Steel actually retconned it pretty badly, to be honest...)
Again, gaming survived FO3's ending-changer just fine.
But EAware =/= Square Enix or Bethesda. The latter two care about their fanbase.
Oh, for ****'s sake. I hate the ending as much as anyone else here, but don't you think you're overreacting? You might not like their PR act right now, but Bioware cares about their fanbase. Even though the ME3 ending sucked, there's plenty of proof of it all over the game. There was a lot of, shall we call it, "fan generated" content and I actually enjoyed the playthough even more just because of it.
Sure, they made a mistake. They said they're working on fixing it, or whatever. Cut them some slack, or at least wait untl PAX before you start with those statements.
No, I'm not overreacting. I have no doubt Bioware cares about their WORK. Their fans? Yeah, not so much. You may want to go back and check some of their "PR act" statements after Dragon Age 2, where they basically repeatedly said that anyone who didn't like their obviously perfect game was just an idiot who "had bad expectations."
And now the ME3 endings, and all we're hearing out of them is how it's such art, but how they will "clarify" the endings for those people who "need more closure."
Sure, you can argue that if they didn't care about their fans they'd never even bother with doing that little, but on the flipside, I'm pretty sure they would have never even bothered had there not been such huge media coverage. It's impossible to prove either way.
If you want to believe they still care about their fans, that's your prerogative. I see little evidence to support it.
