Shooting Mordin was the most emotional part of the series.

Here's one I didn't think about during my first playthrough:

I just beat the game again, and at the end you see some fighting on the street, then those 2 Alliance soldiers holding their rifles in the air doing a "fist pump", that was pretty emotional there. It gave you that victorious feel. Then the Normandy scene happened and ruined it all.

Mordin's death was the point where the game got real for me. I used my paragon option and thought everything would be cool. Then as the scene played out I realized that this was going to end badly. After the sequence I literally sat in silence for five minutes.

Grunt's almost death was another one where I ended up shouting at my TV demanding that I go back and help him. I don't think I've ever ridden an emotional rollercoaster like that sequence from sad to angry to happy in the span of three minutes.

Thane's death, Liara's final romance scenes (both cabin and in London), Anderson's death... And if Miranda had died in my play through, I would have been blubbing then...

I thought the most powerful scene was when shepard and anderson were looking back on earth and Anderson said "It feels like years since I've just sat down."  You really see and feel how the struggle as taken a toll on him. Then we see shepard grasping her wound, bleeding out, and Anderson telling her that he is proud.  They could have ended the game there, with shepard and anderson bleeding and watching the reapers fall as they are hit by the crucible.  That would have been PERFECTION,

Easy. When Tali committed suicide. I had my hands on my head shouting NOOO!

Had to stop playing, shut down the game, get up and walk around a bit after that.

(p.s.: it should've been something that happened during the finale!)

Mordin's death. And final goodbyes. I cried like an idiot, had to actually stop playing to pull myself together. I know, I'm way too emotionally involved :(

The end. It actually made me so depressed I had medical problems and had to go to the hospital. I'm dead serious.

Yeah Thane in the clinic, Mordin curing the genophage and absolutely Grunt rushing into a room full of reaper-rachni. I think the scene with Grunt was the most emotional for me.

Anger is an emotion, right?

I'd say the "Shepard is a legend/buy DLC" pop-up, was probably the MOST emotional scene in the game for me.

Mordin's sacrifice wins the prize. Many Kleenex died that day. Honorable mention: skeet shooting with Garrus on the Presidium, Cortez at the memory wall, Liara's time capsule, the traumatized asari commando on Huerta Memorial, the escape from Vancouver, the goodbyes in London (pretty much all of them), and "you did good, child, I'm proud of you".

YES I loved that part! It actually kind of made me feel good about the ending on my second playthrough. I accidentally skipped him my first playthrough. So that made me mad.

That's the ending to a 5-yeared trilogy: "Shepard is now a legend. You may buy some DLC now." I don't know if I was close to laugh, cry or scream at that part. It was like a final slap in the face right after the terrible ending. That text was the knock-out.

He's remarkably upbeat in comparison to some of the other squaddies though. He gave my Shep some hope (and orders too). Still, very emotional!

Pretty much all the deaths (Mordin, Legion, Thane, Anderson) had me tearing up. :( When I got up from being exploded by the beam as well, 'cause I had figured my squaddies had been destroyed and from then on, I was so focused on their potential deaths that the rest of the ending became a blur. :P

when Mordin died saving the Krogan, and when I thought Grunt died

This - when Grunt ran in sacrificing himself (or so we thought), we sat three guys all silent close to cursing the need to chop onions while playing ME3 ...if you know what I mean :-)

Is this because Joker?

That made me sad as well. :(

Whe Legion died I was almost in tears. I loved that guy but his and Tali's final exchange was beautiful, whoever made the Rannoch mission was a genius.

Minus the negatives of the ending, Anderson and Shepard on the Citadel; Shepard choosing "destroy". There's also the ardat-yakshi and the banshe (with a non-import Shepard there's no Samara); the death of the geth was really sad, especially with Legion desperately trying to save them (especially since I prefer to save both or kill off the quarians); Mordin's sacrifice.

Reading through these 14 pages really shows that while the ending sucked it wasn't the end all be all of the Mass Effect series. And, we could probably fill up another 14 pages for each of ME1 and ME2. This was a series worth playing for all of the events described in this thread.

Thane's prayer and Mordin's death tie it up for me. Full on wailing / weeping. Hard stuff.
