Hnng, there are way too many moments to choose from. Curse you, BioWare!

I think the one that truly had me bawling like a baby, though, was in London, when Shepard went to see Anderson at the headquarters and passed her team along the way.
Miraculously, I had managed to avoid any spoiler regarding the outcome, and I was completely convinced my hero wouldn't make it. So not only the crew was saying goodbye to Shepard, I was saying goodbye to her. Or, well, I would have been, had I been able to utter any audible sound other than a whimper or a wail.

Never have I felt so completely attached to a protagonist as to Shepard.
So really. No matter how high the ending made my eyebrow arch, no matter how completely frustrated I still am about the inclusion of Gary Stu Kai Leng, the fact BioWare managed to make me care so much about their main character makes Mass Effect my absolute favourite game series of all time.

The more I think of it all the more I get angered that all these dear team mates have to die.

What's with the goth/emo destroy everything theme in this game *sigh*

Legion sacrifice. I instead of we, and Tali acknowledges the existence of a soul for him/them. That's the saddest for me. The happiest though is when you think Grunt is dead, but he staggers out of the cave covered in all sorts of mess. He's alive! Effen aye! Lol the best emotion turn around I think...

Didn't happen in my game, but watching Renegade Shep shoot Mordin in the back. And then Mordin slowly crawling to the control panel and then dying. Omg.....

Also, you having to shoot Kaidan (also didn't and WILL NEVER HAPPEN IN ANY OF MY GAMES) though I honestly cannot say the same for Ashley.

Mordin: I am the very model of... "BOOM!!"
Me: (whispering) ...a scientist salarian. :crying:

Legion: Tali Zorah, does this unit... have a... soul.
Tali: Yes. Yes it does.

I haven't done any "lots of people die" playthroughs yet so I imagine there will be many more once I get to those.

So I wasn't the only one who did that....

My most emotional moments of Mass Effect 3?

1. Thane's death & prayer
2. Legion sacrificing himself for the Geth.
3. Finally sticking it to Kai Leng at Kronos Station (because of what he did to Thane).
4. Martin Sheen's performance as the Illusive Man at the Citadel towards the end of the game.
5. The final conversation with Anderson just before he dies :(
6. Joker finally being happy with EDI due to picking Synthesis ending.
7. Finally meeting Eve and seeing that she could defend herself at the end of Priority: Sur'Kesh.

Steve putting the Voice recording at the Memorial wall.
Perfect mix of happy and sad that got me good deep down...the feels.

Kaidan grabbing Shepard as he leaves during the goodbye too.

My most emotional one was a happy version:

Saving the Krogan (curing genophage), I was so happy that I knew I was Wrex's wing-man the entire time, and that he got it in with a fertile female final.

Made me happy knowing there would be a bunch of little Wrex's out there yelling "for Tuchanka" and kicking **** in the future all because of me.

This thread almost makes me want to do a second playthrough.

...which will undergo an enforced and abrupt end just after the Reaper guarding the beam of light goes down.

My most emotional moment is a tie between thinking Kaidan was dead when he got pwned by Dr. Eva and Thane's deathbed prayer of forgiveness for Shepard. I get misty each time at that one. :crying:

Strangely, the most emotional part for me was not a scene at all, but just before initiating the final fight on earth. I simply walked around the Normandy, knowing this would be the last time Shepard would do this. I thought of all the conversations, the dramas, laughter, the people that had been part of the place for 3 games. I had an intense cocktail of emotions .... sadness, emptiness, pride, compassion.
I just walked around the place for ages, knowing I was saying goodbye not just to a ship, a home, but all the people, the friends, lovers, and ultimately the series.

As I almost subconsciously found myself back in front of the galxay map, all those feelings seemed to harden into resolve. It was time....

My renegade shephard had to shoot Mordin in the back :( Was praying for no renegade interrupt after he started moving towards the elevator. Felt crappy afterwards :( Defintley most emotional moment for me. (though my renegade playthrough hasn't reached tali yet)

 For me, it's a 3-way tie:

1.) Mordin curing the genophage. I had always thought it would be a fitting end for Mordin to die in pursuit of getting beyond the genophage, and Bioware delivered beyond my expectations on that scene. Expertly done.

2.) Thane's death. I never really liked Thane all that much, but after he died, I kept finding myself checking the Life Support room on the Normandy every time I went around to talk to the crew, just...because. The prayer with Kolyat was awesome, his fight with Kai Leng was awesome. When I finally killed Kai Leng, I went back to Life Support just to say "got him for ya'."

3.) The very end, as Shepard's trying to figure out what to do at the console as he's bleeding out. We don't see Shepard vulnerable or weak very much, pretty much always on his A game. But, he's just lost so many people, then Anderson, and here he is at the very end, confused, dying...it was powerful.

The squad goodbyes on Earth were brutal, esp. Garrus and Kaidan. I was already pretty on edge at that point and that whole push on Earth sent me over.

Also, Grunt's apparent sacrifice really got to me. I never really cared too much for Grunt as a character, but that scene with him fending off waves of rachni was tough.

You know, pretty much any time that slow piano starts up I get weepy.

The ending of the game. Why? Because I invested a lot of time into all 3 games and ended up questioning myself of what had happened for about a week. That entire week I did not play any game at all because I was so upset and confused. I lost all ability to want to play a game. Instead, I went on the forums reading everyone else's thoughts, ideas, emotions ,etc. of the ending.

If you were expecting a different 'MOST emotional response', then I would say it was probably right before we charged into the Conduit. Why? Because I got to see every squadmate say their goodbyes and hooahs. Another reason why I liked it a lot and enjoyed this particular scene was due to its similarities to Dragon Age:Origins. Nothing else feels better than seeing the fruition of my work. If anything, the ending hurt me the most and provided the biggest emotional response I've ever had to a game due to the ending DESTROYING everything I had done. Indoctrination theory is my last hope for some sort of closure.

Note: This may seem as an exaggeration, but sadly it is not. I don't think I've played a series as great as Mass Effect, and I'm not sure if I have ever had such an emotional response before. Mario games were cool as a child, and Call of Duty when growing up had some intense moments throughout the years, but never have I invested several years into a game series where the same lore and characters carry from game to game for THREE games. If this game's purpose was to conclude the series, then I believe it has failed to do so and has either provided a poor ending, or perhaps no ending at all (if indoc. theory proves to be true) .
