I use cheats just cause i've finished the game once already(Profile didn't update then either) but only the money cheat and that is not listed on that thread to "flag" my profile as cheater. Rather stupid to prevent uploading just cause you use cheats imo, since there are ways of cheating without using console

I'm having problems as well. My first character loaded and updated. My second character does not show at all (number of characters still =1) but some of his achievements show up. I contacted tech support and they suggested a browser cache cleanup. I'm not sure if it will work yet.

The main reason I have for wanting my second character to show up is so I can change my profile picture to him. My current pic keeps reminding me of another bug: My mage is shown wearing the disguise armor he was stuck with and buried in.

Oookay, up to half an hour ago I had 5 char's on my harddrive, and only 4 reflected on my profile page, 3 of which varied from slightly outdated (a few lvls shy) to a missing profile pic. My 5th char (lvl 12, a few weeks old) didn't even show. Achievements uploaded instantly.

Over the course of the last week or two I have tried different things recommended from the community. I removed the dragonage.ini file and had it recreated when I started the game - all settings were reset to default, changed back, so no prob.

Then I deleted some of my screenshots, then I disabled the uploads of screenshots (because it seemed they kept being uploaded as I deleted them...).

Now my one char's profile pic appeared - woohoo!! We're getting somewhere. Items not fully updated though and my 5th char still doesn't show...

In the player diagnostics all of my 4 uploaded chars have the "Error 1005 - Extra unexpected files uploaded for this character". What does that mean? Is that because of the .ini file?

It would seem that in my case it was due to my online space being full. How do I manage my files? What are they?

But thanks for everyone's input and advice!

This really sux. I guess I have to completely delete all my characters in 'my documents' and then delete all the remains of my online profiles and restart the game with a new character.

But if I do is there any guarantee that the new profile will work????????

How about a bit of support here Bioware!!!!

Mine is still borked. I updated my official support request but have not had a response. I wanted to try deleting my .ini file but I can't find it.

I had the same problem myself until I forwarded ports in my router. The ports I forwarded are as follows;DRAGONA0 port 80 TCP/UDP , DRAGONA1 port 443 TCP, DRAGONA2 port 8000 TCP, DRAGONA3 port 18001 TCP/UDP, DRAGONA4 port 8001 UDP also if you have a port based firewall will probably have to give Dragon Age full access

Oh thats fecking great, now this stupid website doesn't even display my character....

EDIT. If its one thing i want to say its this:

Bioware, STOP blaming us and claiming that we are at fault when our profiles don't update because it is safe to say that it is your server/website are the ones that are causing the problems.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned as a possible fix yet so - here it is anyway.

If you play the game with Console enabled, it'll bork your profile. It will update Achievements, but nothing else. Once I disabled the Console, and ran the game a few times - things finally started to correct themselves.

Most likely any previously created characters (prior to disabling Console), won't display correctly, or at all - but any new toons you create will begin updating. To be sure the webpage gets all of your characters info uploaded, you will have to load a save-game from each individual character. Play around for a few minutes on it - then pick a new character, or exit the game.

The information to update the webpage is sent AFTER you exit the game. As mentioned my profile used to be screwed too - with constant "..cannot connect.." or "..not available.." errors while in game. As soon as I disabled the Console (or more specifically, ran teh game WITHOUT Console enabled), the online profile begins to update correctly. If you view my profile, you can see it's starting to recover..

Good luck

Im running the game through the launcher and not the short cut with the console.  I did not even meddle with the keybingings to enable console.

The funny thing is prior to my last 2 characters, bioware social was able to update my first and second character constantly and when i created my third and forth, it barely to never updates.

The last time this website "updated" my profile is when it screwed me and made my last character dissapear from the profile while retaining the characters name.

I am not at fault here, bioware social is.

EDIT.

Oh and don't even try to bring up my router seeing how this website was able to update my characters before turning into a total train wreck. I am sick and tired of devs blaming us for our profiles not updating when its obvious the problem lies with this buggy website.

I still remember one of my characters took a total of 2 months JUST to get uploaded.

@SithLordExarKun

There are a couple of other possibilities then. From your description it pretty well matched what I had been going through.

Have you tried running the Profile Diagnostics yet? This can be done from the page that displays all of your characters and Achievements. On the left side towards the top. Try running that and it may or may not show an option as to why your profile is borked.

I do recall early in the beginning of the game during my 1st run-through (prior to using the Console), I came to one of those points in the game that you have to make a "life altering choice". I saved the game, made the choice and continued to play for a bit. When I realized I didn't like the outcome, I loaded the save point right before the choice, and made a different one. After that it seemed to really dislike my profile. Which is more or less why I started playing with the Console, to see if I could determine what was wrong.

Another change I made, is the Dragon Age Updater Service. Rather than having it only startup when I start the game, I forced it to start as soon as Windows does - so essentially it's always running. Since that time, even before I stopped using Console, I started getting less and less errors in game about not being able to contact the storage server and so forth. I still do get them periodically, but I know now - it's not a problem on my end.

Last but not least, the fine print about your profile is that the profiles that get viewed more often are the ones that get updated more quickly. I personally don't believe this has actually had any effect - mainly because I'm the only one that ever views mine - and it's been updating pretty well lately.

Lemme know - good luck!

Most of the time my character picture isn't even showing up. :innocent: Just their stats. It only works when it wants to. I already finished the game with the 3 character yet 2 of them don't even show this period.<_< I didn't have this problem until they did that site update on the 19th. Then after that none of my characters seem to be showing or even advancing at all.:?

Well, my profile updates finished crapping out on me a couple days ago. It is interesting, though, that it looked like I stopped updating in pieces, rather than all at once. First the 'story' tab stopped updating, then screenshots a day or so later, then spells and skills, and now items, stats, and character portraits. I'm still showing achievements, although every time I start the game, it opens with 'failed to connect to online storage server'

It's weird though; there's obviously some sort of communication going on between the game, and Bioware's servers, as my avatar stopped showing up only after I changed my character's equipment, and the character profile failed to update it.

Oh well, I tried some of the fixes on this thread, but I haven't tried deleting the dragonage.ini yet, so maybe I'll see if that works

Dude I seriously just had the same problems. I thought it was only me. I was just posting here on the forums and then bam... my forum avatar just disappeared and became black. It was not just my avatar that got ****ed, but also my uploaded characters. I lost their portrait and avatar images. I absolutely have no clue why that happened because it never happened before, and I wasn't playing DAO at that time. Bioware may really have problems with their online storage servers for sure. So because of that unfortunate event I was forced to remove everything from my online profile.

Also, I remember having a "server error" when I loaded my save. After that my online profile was completely ****ed

I admit, that I have not read all the posts in this topic, but I have found an answer (not solution) on all the problems regarding character upload.

They are described here
http://social.bioware.com/help.php
under Dragon Age Player Data

Well, deleting the DragonAge.ini didn't fix anything, so I guess I'll just have to wait until Bioware fixes it on their end.
