They need to do a major overhaul to the web site. I just wish someone from BioWare would let us know what is happening. I'd complain a lot less if I knew someone was working on the problem :D

I don't think this is Bioware, since when you fill out a customer service complaint it is Electronic Arts, and sadly the tech support from EA has always been rather shabby. Image IPB It is why i was slightly disappointed when i heard Boiware sold out to EA. This website needs to get beyond being a Beta and become an actual program, but that requires someone to actually do some work back there. Image IPB.

Deleting the .inis worked for me, or at least I think so. Profile got updated the next day for the first time since December. Or maybe I was just lucky.

It is getting to the point where I am surprised when this website or the on-line server DOES work instead of the occasional problem. So far almost like every 2nd time I log into the game i get the message "YOU TIMED OUT" and of course it goes you have -1 files of the max-1 which means you can't do anything with your profile.Image IPB. Oh well maybe next year we will have a working website Image IPB.  and possibly some more frequent updates rather than every 3 months or so.

What happened to me recently was I reinstalled DA after doing a windows re-install. When I did this it re-enabled uploading of screenshots without my knowledge. When the screenshots got full at 100, DA stopped updating my characters on the site because apparently your 100 file maximum limit also includes player files. If you delete some screenshots and disable automatic uploading, next time you play your character it should work. I noticed my character files got updated as soon as I deleted some screenshots. Hope this helps :)

That has been suggested before, and I have personally tried it--it didn't help me at all.

It worked fine for me. After I deleted the screenshots, I had to start DA again and play all of my characters I wanted updated. I saved the game again on each character I wanted to have updated, saw that it updated the files on the website, and a little over an hour later it updated all of them :)

I thought id stop by and throw my 2 cents in here; when i downloaded this game, which has been a while now i suppose, everything worked fine - my profile got updated etc. etc, then steam updated DA:O and everything stopped working and i started to get "timed out" messages while playing.

I didnt care much for the profile not getting updated (who cares really?) but the fact that it WORKED at one point and then stopped didnt seat right with me.

I went through the game and decided to have some fun with it and played around with console cmds ending up with a few very interesting character(s) (that are not on my profile currently).

After reading this thread i decided to simply do everything in one go and see if it fixed the problem:
1. Disabled/Enabled character upload
2. Disabled/Enabled auto-screenshot upload (kept this disabled)
3. Disabled/Enabled auto feedback (kept this disabled)
4. Forced the game to upload some of the screenshots in my profile
5. Changed video settings back and forth (resolution)
6. Updated firewall permission for the game
7. Disabled the console

.. and it seems to work now. So having a haxxed character in no way "shuns" your account from ever working with this site; i didnt bother messing w/ the .ini file or anything else that couldnt be done inside the game/options menus.

PS: I suppose i should add that i never really figured out what was causing the problem. I do believe its most likely the "Upload gameplay feedback" option thats enabled by default, but my guess is as good as anyones.

Having the console enable forces the game to NOT update or upload your character info:police:

Well, achievements still got updated .. right away, as in 10~ seconds delay between me getting them and being displayed in my profile.

It mustve been something else, unless console is somehow connected to "dont update this guys characters" switch.

It's been said in this thread before (a couple of pages back), enabling the dev console stops the game from uploading your updated profile and stats

Achievements were never affected by it :)

Remove -enabledeveloperconsole from:

Steam:

Steam > DA > Properties > General > Launch options

Retail:

right click the .exe > properties > target

I just did something and POOF, now everything is there. Even the stats on my newly created one were there too. One downside. The Rouge I never deleted is gone (shrugs shoulders, don't look at me)

Here's what I did----
In game, hit Profile then Online Profile. About 10 minutes later, the above happened.

It may be a coincidence and it just happeded to update at the time I did this.... I don't know. But for my double deleted (crappy Mage) character to come back and the one I never deleted to disappear??????

Adding my own experiences here...
I was seeing old data from earlier in January for quite a while, which was really annoying, but I did the above, and was magically transported to an updated profile.  Here's the weird bit:

If I click on my user portrait and go to my profile, look at Recent Activity, and click on my "recently uploaded" rogue, I get his up-to-date profile at this url:
http://social.biowar...e=dragonage1_pc

On the other hand, if I go through my profile to Games->Dragon Age PC, I get a Player Profile page with out-of-date characters.  The url to my same rogue, navigating this way, is:
http://social.biowar...na_id=223751490

Seems like there's a disconnect somewhere between how data is updated from the game, and how profiles find it... or something. :|

I also have the same problem with my characters not updating themselves for almost 7 weeks now. I have never used the console. I have made hard saves many times. I also can't upload any screenshots since it says that I have a "-1 files stored online (out of -1 maximum)".

I am currently trying kopitestu79's method and turning off the gameplay feedback. Hopefully this works. I wonder why it is so difficult for the game to do something so simple as updating the character profiles.

EDIT: What do you know, it worked (though after a reallllly long time). Thanks a lot.:D

Here's another one when doing a profile diagnostics it tells you, you have like 31 screenshots in your on line storage and yet it only dispalys like 20 where is it hiding the other 11. This thing is suppose to update everytime you level or change equipment. So I think what may work once wont work a second time or for someone else just cause EA likes making life difficult.

I tried filling out a customer response thing and when i went to send it the site timed out and deleted it, so I sent a 2nd one and when i ammend it it lost the ammendment. It also took them a week to get back to me now you cant even contact them through the E-mail us part it tried like 6 times last night. so go figure.

The -1 of -1 maximum occurs when the server times out. the only solution i have found is that you have to shut the game down completly and restart, sometimes more than once cause the on-line storage is crapping out as usal. Image IPB

I played with the EA e-mail for about 2 months before finally talking to a human, instead of an automated response.
End result....  EA can't do anything with the web site, it's being run by BioWare. And if there is a way to contact BioWare about it, I don't know it. The EA guy said he sent a request in, but that was about a month ago - so I don't believe that BioWare is actually paying attention to complaints about the website  :(
