Sounds in line with Plato's Republic. You know what that breeds? Grade A Tyranny.
Question: Why was the chick from IGN in the game?

I doubt 99% of the fanbase knew who she was before they bought the game, and of those, barely 50% probably know after finishing.
Pretty much this. Only found out who she is from all the raging pre-release.
But even without knowing the facts behind her appearance, she got the most annoying voice I've ever heard, and she looks so fanservice-y it's ridiculous.
5 War Assets, hehe, no thanks.

They could have used those resources toward a scene with Shiala, or Sidonis, or anyone that we might give two sh*ts about. Even doing the exact same thing but with Emily Wong instead would have been better received.

So I'm not the only one who noticed this? I wonder why they included David in the DLC when they are afraid of male reproducing organs.

Anyone else notice that reporter was that chick from IGN? Why was she even in the game? Did BioWare owe her a favor or something?
that question answers itself really
btw the majority of answers in this thread are childish and I'd expect that sort of thing from COD fans

To ensure a good review. Same reason why they grant priviliges to other sites as well. Exclusive interviews, goodies and showcase invitations. Surround your name with enough positivity and they will always give you the benefit of the doubt, and in this case even more: subjective criticism.
It's basically buying loyalty, nothing more. I am surprised that they'd do it this obviously, it hurts IGN's credibility enormously.

To be fair, I don't think people are attacking Jessica Chobot for her looks. She's actually pretty attractive. What people are ragging on is that the transition from Ms. Chobot to Ms. Allers wasn't a flattering one.
In other words, Chobot is an attractive lady, Allers is ... not.

The worst of it is, the key to defeating the Reapers was standing in the cargo bay all along. Simply teleport Allers to one of the Reapers and that voice will have them all performing mass suicide in no time.
And don't try and tell me there are no teleportation devices in ME because my squad managed teleport back onto the Normandy without any trouble just before Joker decided to chicken S**t is way out of the battle zone to crash on that jungle planet.
Or, ya know, look at the giant white teleportation beam going up to the Citadel.

To those thinking this influenced IGN's review, you can stop thinking that. Chobot's a video presenter, not a reviewer. She probably got the role is because someone at Bioware likes her. She mentioned several times on podcasts that she'd love to work at Bioware. All it takes is for some of the developers who like her hear about that and make a minor, totally inconsequential role for her.
It's the same situation as Felicia Day in DA2 just a much worse execution.

Have you seen that character model... O.M.G... No, no, no, nien, niet, I reject. No me Gusta..
Allers is a watse of Data Storage... complete and utter waste, she is not even worth the damn war assets. Bioware was trying to do something once again.. that think is cool but they don't understand how it works.
High School of the Dead... that show is complete fan service... its the Walking Dead... with Fan Sevice. As deals with the fallout of a bunch of high schoolers durning the break of the Zombie apocolypse.
High School of the Dead fan service done right. Fanservice is never ment to take away from something, after worst you end up Faceplaming becuase most of the time its played for lulz...
Bioware must of have missed the memo.

Chobot's cool but the character was a missed opportunity, she speaks in a (frankly pretty bad) reporter voice for 90% of her dialogue. The character is super shallow too, you learn nothing about her, other than she's from a colony, and later, that colony got blown up. Even the questions she asks you aren't good enough, you get two interviews at two questions each.

Not the same as Felicia Day, at all. Day is a DA fangirl who made her own webseries that got noticed by BioWare. She was asked if she wanted her character from the webseries in the game.
Yeah, Chobot is a fan of ME, but not to the extent that Felicia Day is to Dragon Age.
