Here's a counter-question;
why do people seem to have a grudge against her being in the game?
I've rather have the reporter from the first two games. Also she put no effort in her lines, Bioware made the character look horrible. Bioware put no effort into her having a background and not tie her into the events of the first two games, so she could question your actions in those games.

Simple. She wanted to be a voice actress and got a job being a voice actress. I don't get why this is so hard to understand. Lots of people have multiple "hats".
This is like calling yourself a "shopping critique" after visiting your local grocery store. You don't come into a game and ninja off 10min of voice lines with no retakes, rush it, and accept that the company places a horrible mockup of you in the game as visual representation. I don't believe you gave the answer any justice at all.

If this is ineed the case then I personally don't think it reflects to poorly on Bioware. The character was poorly executed in game and could have been much better, yes. But she is a minor character and completely optional after all. In fact, it might actually be a sort of subtle insult from Bioware to this Chobot woman. Considering how badly she was done in-game. If this is the case then kudos Bioware i say. Not because I like or don't like the woman, I don't really have an opinion of her. But I'd applaud it because it would take guts for a dev to actually insult real world person in a game.
What putting her in the game it does reflect badly on is the intelligence of the IGN staff in general and of Chobot in particular. Because anyone with a modicum of intelligence would realize that making a cameo in a game when your job is reviewing them is going to raise major questions about both your own and your employers journalistic integrity. Course, many people might already have had their doubt about IGN's integrity, but this isn't going to make things better for them.

How do you know any of that happened? Were you there? And if so why don't you have a Bioware logo by your name? Yes her character's cheeks are way too big. In the same way that Dragon Age character isn't a perfect replica of Felicia Day, Allers isn't a perfect replica of Jessica Chobot. Such is life. Further, voice actors especially new ones don't get to dictate terms on how their character looks.

It's like a kid (Bioware) that's forced to do the dishes (Mass Effect) because his mom (EA) says he have to. Sooner or later he'll figure out that if he breaks all the fine china while doing it his mom won't make him do it any more.
That and they wanted the hacks over at IGN to be their lapdogs forever and ever.

I don't have to see a car being manufactured to be able to speak on its mechanics. I'm sorry, but you can't get any more Felisha Day than this in rendering:
