Well, as the title says, my installer refuses to install the game. I tried manual install but apparently the core.rar is unopenable with my program or it is somehow corrupted.
When the installer starts to install the game, it gets only to the very beginning where it says
"Preparing to extract core.rar (this may take a few seconds)
After a few seconds it quits and says "Installation failed!" and complains about being unable to find data or file.
Cant install the game

I assume you have a physical DVD of the game...
I used to try this for games that did this to me when installing from the CD:
I copied the CD's entire contents onto my local drive, then ran the installer from there. Worked every time.
Give it a try, might help.

Well, it looks like it could be a problem with your physical DVD, in which case you should try to take it back for an exchange or something.
You can always verify if it's not your DVD drive's problem by using another DVD that you *know* it works and running it in the drive. If it reads fine, it's the problem with the game DVD.
EDIT: If your retailer doesn't accept returns/exchanges, you can try to download a working ISO image off the internet by bittorrent or similar and then registering your legal CD key with that copy. S'far as i know that isn't illegal to do as long as you own an actual cd key...

You can download it from EA if you have a key, no? ETA: NM, seems like silly usage limitations.

Hm, following on my previous post, I'd like to add on that you could also try using a second machine to try and read your DVD to make absolutely sure it's broken. Getting a second opinion on your game disc, as it were
