Plus it would require some major lorelols to make it fit.

Where does this 'easily' come from? Do you even realise what you just said?
"Oh yeah, building a race car in my backyard is a piece of cake. Can be easily done. Assuming I had all the materials, the manual, the mechanics working around the clock, tons of money to pour into the project, mechanics with enough expertise to make the thing operate properly, had a clear race track built to drive the thing on, transportation to and from said race track and a set of gold-plated fluffy dice for the rear-view mirror".
Turning a game like this into an MMO isn't just 'Oh, just flip the mass-multiplayer flag from 0 to 1'. It would have been a completely different direction for the entire project from DAY ONE.

mmo's require epic effort because they focus more on constant content updates then single player games. As the head of BioWare Austin put it "content sucks because it takes so much manpower" DAO is dwarfed by the resources going into TOR. Voice over in TOR is being called the biggest voice over project ever attempted.bjdbwea wrote...
I bought every BioWare game (including MDK 2, if anyone remembers that). The Star Wars MMO will be the first one I don't buy. And I would not buy a DA MMO either. Can you really not see the industry wants to force this concept down your throat only because they can make more money with less effort? But you as a player gain nothing from it, on the contrary. Wake up!

I've played just about every MMO out there, and while I don't like the majority, they can still be a decent way to pass time if you're really interested in the lore. The real downside is the amount of immature kids playing and ruining the game, which is ironic considering the people who state the same thing here are the supreme immature forum trolls. Good job guys.

That statement in itself holds some truth to it.
However:
Yet another fantasy MMO? Please, no.
And more importantly: It would decrease the likelihood of a proper sequel/prequel and thus: Hell, no!
SW:TOR will be all the MMO I'll need for the foreseeable future (not counting the occasional stint as a Champion).

Don't label every kid out there as immature or someone that ruins other's experience, I'm 17 and I'm pretty mature, sometimes the more 'mature' people were acting like kids when I played.Loetek wrote...

why not MMOS are the bigist thing in gameing right now
So i guess your the guy that smokes weed because everyone else is doing it.
MMO's were good when kids didnt play them.
typically it's the ones that point out how mature they are that are actually the most immature.

More seriously, I'm already highly suspicious of how TOR is going to turn out. Bioware excels at plot-driven RPGs, but the game mechanics are always a little bit wonky. And MMOs are almost always plotless, storyless drivel that get reduced to e-peen and drama because they lack anything else of mention.
That said, I've thought for awhile a more limited online RPG would be quite interesting - a sort of RPG/RTS hybrid. Imagine if while one character was playing a hero, another could play the antagonist of the game, sending out squads of assassins, setting up elaborate traps in their fortress, etc. Both would be playing a deep story RPG, just from different roles. There would be problems with timing (maybe set up a "chapter" system where neither player could advance further until the other had time to react). Hell, you could expand it a bit more, and have the minions playable, in a "pop in and out" sort of way. Given multiple points of view, it would take twice as long or more to come up with all the content though.

Good for you. Taking a single-player RPG and making it into an MMO isn't "piece of cake." It would take years and a team of developers.Osena109 wrote...

Besides DAO is what you can expect in SWTOR as it is already.. not sure if I am going to be able to stand SW:TOR though... I think there would be to many KOTOR fanboys playing it in a way the game would get bad.
