If you can track our promotions, what's the problem?

I just screenshot that from my PS3, hence the odd resolution. It's Bioware keeping perfect track of my promotions.

Not only can they easily track our promotions, they can even track our Galactic Readiness. So what, pray tell, is keeping us (at the very least) from Operation Raptor? Obviously they have no problem patching in new packs, and they can clearly track our promotions. I just fail to see what the issue here is. If it's an exclusivity deal with Microsoft, just say so. 360 players pay Microsoft to pay developers for extra stuff, and that's fine. (PC isn't a direct competitor to 360, thus they're included)

Just stop feeding us these "technical restrictions" and "working with Sony" lies, when they are easily proven wrong.

Our promotions at the least are being tracked.
Our BF3 stats are being tracked through the same Origin system by the same publisher.
What gives?

Of course imageshack cut out the important part of the image. I'm going to reupload it.

More useless assumptions.

Bottom line is that there are technical restrictions when promoting anything on the PS3/PSN. Part of the problem is that Sony requires themselves to be a co-publisher on all PSN promotional content, as it's considered advertising.

Seriously, this is not the first instance of the PS3 lagging behind in gaming promotions. In fact, it's pretty common. In the end, it's the policies that Sony has laid out that make this a harder process than it should be. Not everything is tea & crumpets; just like MS has a complicated Certification process for game updates that occassionally makes getting patches out problematic.

This is a Sony issue. Wanna do something about it? Complain on their forum like COD players, who actualy found success.

How is what I said an assumption? They are clearly tracking our stats. Name one other game where PS3 users missed out for reasons other than exclusives/timed exclusives.

If you took the time to read into this you would know this is an issue on Sonys part not cooperating with Bioware to run these Events get mad at Sony not Bioware, Bioware has stated their trying to get sony to cooperate and hop on board.

I have seen that, and it doesn't jive. They can track our promotions, so what does that have to do with Sony? Do you honestly believe Sony is saying, "NO FREE EVENTS FOR OUR USERS!"
@wolf- You act like Microsoft exclusivity deals are unheard of.

We all know what the excuse is so your parroting is unnecessary.

Their excuse just doesn't make sense.

As a fellow PS3 user I feel your pain, but Sony did once tell people to get a second job to afford the PS3. They've made a habit of making utterly baffling decisions this generation, and I have no doubt this is yet another one.

Nope I just know sonys history. They don't do multi platform community events like you are seeing in mass effect. I asked 2 other ps3 owners if they ever encounters events like this. They said nope. So yeah...

And yet this isn't the first game to exclude PS3 from promotions because of the issue.

So there is apparently some "sense" behind the excuse.

If there is no reason then why wouldn't Bioware include PS3 users? Of course its Sony.

We all knew it was technically possible to port songs from Guitar Hero to Guitar Hero, or from Rock Band to Rock Band, but not all the songs made it. Sometimes the obstacles aren’t technical in nature. Like Homey C-Dawg said: Contracts and Policies are likely the culprit. Squidnet2k1 recommended to complain on their forum like COD players, who achieved results. Sounds like good advice.

offcourse they can, cause that stuff goes automaticly over the internet as it's part off the game's programming, same with the adding off the special packs you can buy for (insert nr off day's). that is all on your disc/hardrive.

being able to add stuff to people's account wich is what these events do require acces from (insert platform builder company here).
that's the part where Sony is being difficult, so blame them not (insert random person/company for conspiracy theories here)

@wolf- He said, she said. You make a solid point. You know your side is logical when it includes the phrase "I asked 2 other [people]"

@Cuthlan By all means point out any instances that didn't involve exclusivity deals/timed exclusives.

@meteng- Just because you don't know why PS3 would be excluded doesn't mean it was Sony.

It baffles me people are stupid enough to point the finger at Bioware when Sony has had a History of crap like this again and again believe it or not, not everything is a conspiracy its a well known fact in the gameing industry Sony can be EXTREMELY difficult to deal with.

There's a reason Team Fortress is still in an old version on PS3, while all other versions have been getting frequent updates.

So then sources should be easy to post, right, Saren? And even if that's true, it has nothing to do with the fact that Bioware can track our stats just fine without Sony.

i thought that was because valve was like F*** this and stopped supporting sony and then went to MS talking bad about sony then going back and praising sony and putting steam on the PS3.
