This thread makes my head hurt. In fact every thread in which PS3 users attempt to explain their frustrations and search for salient answers makes my head hurt.

There are 2 types of post that should be present in this thread:

1/ Posts from PS3 users concerning the fact they are being provided with an inferior experience to their 360/PC gaming counterparts who (rightfully) feel that they need to express their discontent, and

2/ Responses from people who can shed light on the problems and level with the PS3 community as to what the issues are and when they anticipate them being resolved. In other words, BioWare employees who KNOW what is going on.

Posts that offer nothing but speculation, conjecture and varying degrees of ridicule are completely wasted here. Why even bother? Personally, I'm not asking for a fix or for us to be involved in these events, although that is the long-term goal. Rather, I just want a little transparency so we know where we stand. That is why I continue to post in these threads - I hope that if BioWare see enough of us they might be reasonable and open up something of a dialogue before they end up alienating a significant portion of their fanbase. Anything that doesn't contribute to this end is just a waste of space on this thread IMHO.

Also, and I know I'm guilty of doing exactly what I asked people not to do here, but I did contact Sony. Twice. The response I got the first time was that Sony had no idea what I was talking about or that BioWare had made a request to run an event over PSN. This was following our exclusion from Operation: Goliath. The second call (made around the time Operation: Fortress was live) consisted of me being passed from pillar to post in an attempt to find out if we would be able to participate in future BioWare events. I may as well have been speaking Latin.

I appluad you sir!

I'm not even being sarcastic. You actually got something or at least tried to get something done. Now you guys should contact EA (Not Bioware) and see if they can give you info.:police:

See I like this post because you actually went to sony with your problem as well as bioware. I think you are a definate minority among your PS3 brethren. It seems from the many posts I have read on the topic and a number of friends that have a PS3 you are all more inclined to jump on Bioware for the exclusion from the events. I imagine sony can't see this problem happening because there arn't enough users like yourself looking for answers from both sides.

The main point I'm trying to make is most ps3 users are wasking (edit lol wasking I meant wasting) their efforts by only attacking one side of this issue. If you really want answers you should be asking questions from both sides.

Take the lead of this smart PS3 owner.

That's a false dichotomy, assuming the only two possibilities are conspiracy and Sony's fault. It could be any number of things, but it's already been proven that their "technical limitations" is not true.

I'm not looking for a PS3 friendly answer, I'm just looking for the truth.

When was that? I've seen no such proof thus far into the thread.

He says he's "proven" something a lot, but he never proves anything. He says things like "can be proven" and "are proven", but will never actually provide any rationale - his entire argument is based on completely ethereal "facts" that do nothing but conveniently support whatever he's saying at the moment.

Simple words: He's lying.

"Technical limitations."

Bioware is "technically limited" to 360 and PC, when releasing events giving access to bonus content, unless you want to violate a given contractual agreement, and owe Microsoft a good portion of the money that otherwise is pure profit.

That's a cool theory, aside from a few things:

1) There is no bonus content in these events.
2) It makes no sense to claim Microsoft has exclusivity to Bioware-run community events, especially considering they aren't exclusive to the Xbox.
3) Bioware doesn't make any "pure profit" from these multiplayer events. There is no cost to participate.

So aside from every single point being completely illogical, yeah, solid conclusion.

yes microsoft has paid money to get these events exclusive yet havn't advertised that fact, and also decided to let the PS3 users have the 25% exp event. dude give your head a shake. you are making assumptions that are so wrong that you are making the rest of your PS3 community look bad. you personally hate microsoft we get it but they arn't the issue here dude.

But let's look logically at your train of thought:

Bioware + PC = Successful events
Bioware + Xbox = Successful events
Bioware + Playstation Network = Event failure.

Obvious conclusion is that Bioware's to blame, because it would be silly to logically think that the one variable that changes the outcome could somehow be at fault for the failure.

If you make a ham sandwhich one day, and then a turkey sandwhich the next, and then a peanut butter sandwhich the third, but after the peanut butter sandwhich you have a horrible rash and trouble breathing, do you assume you're allergic to bread!? No, you use common damn sense and recognize the one variable that changed and caused a compatability issue.

Can I make you a ham, turkey and peanut butter sandwich? Failing that, shake you hand? :D

Not all PS3 users. Just the simple ones.

I have a PS3, after all. I just use Xbox for most games.

Oh no people of that caliber usually live underground. I can't really figure out why they have windows but then again I usually value the concept of logic. Image IPB

Ok , i won't say leaderboard.
The event tracks your decision to promote and counts those decisions.

I give you Rating.
Everytime your promote your Rating on this very website increases by 1.
Enough of an indicator to see if i promote or not :kissing:

Groovy - can you use that to tell me what time and day you promoted each character? No? Well, would you look at that...

God, people rant about insignificant things. Is it even worth it?

Also it's hilarious how some PS3 owners blame only Bioware. When you tell them that there is a second part in the equation, they just dismiss it. I guess Sony is like Roman Pope for them. Why don't you ask Sony and listen to their answer? Then you can compare.

Nope I just know sonys history. They don't do multi platform community events like you are seeing in mass effect. I asked 2 other ps3 owners if they ever encounters events like this. They said nope. So yeah...

You're a very ignorant fellow.  CODMW3 and CODBO included the PS3 in weekend events.

All EA games besides this one 'takes data' on what you do.

What BioWare is telling the PS3 owners makes no sense.

Good lord can this thread die already? The ranting and incomprehensible failed debates are killing me. I've only seen a few intelligent responses; the rest of the thread is blind hate, assumptions, and spineless backing when presenting "facts"

This was posted on the operation Raptor Blog, at the bottom.

*Some restrictions may still apply, Operation Raptor is not open in all regions. Due to restrictions on the PlayStation 3 platform, we are unable to offer Operation Raptor to our PlayStation 3 users. We apologize for this inconvenience and we will continue to work with Sony to extend our weekend Operations to the community. Thank you.

i think they were but again battlelog tracks every kill you made in seconds, i play and i can check on my pc how much i need for a new weapon, sames goes to cod ethey even have cod elite that can tarcks everything you do.

cross platform events arent really cross platform, you dont play in the same session with pc and xbox 360 players...you just share a goal with another platform that all...reading some of the psot some people think they actually are playing with pc gamers/ xbox gamers on the same session.....

another thing lots of people are saying sony guys dont blame sony, but i guess you cant understand that the huge majority of people arent blaming sony or bw, they want answer... people bought a bioware/ea product not a sony product, the run it in a sony platform, but the dev that make the game should be the one that comes clear, tehy did the game, they should know what is the problem and let us know....

the lack of a real answer after 3 weeks makes people wonder what is BW keeping from us, personally i think nothing except the real answer..maybe is sony fault, maybe BW but i bought i BW product and i would love to hear what the problem from them bc lets get real SONY and MS arent know for their straight answers....

in the end i will be ok if they come and say sorry ps3 users  the problem is this (specific problem not a tech generic problem), is X fault, no ETA for the fix but we are trying and if tehy cant fix it at least we will know...is this so much to ask.

sorry my english isnt my native language i try to explain myself the best i could, i hope i did and some of the people bashing ps3 user actually undertand what we are asking.
