If you're going to call him out about using an ad hominem argument, you should possibly try to avoid them yourself. That way you both don't just keep on insulting each other and possibly you can have an actual argument. That or just ignore it.

He's been ignoring my posts the entire time. He hasn't once addressed a single thing I've said. Ever. Once.

He is the epitome of an Ad Hominem. He completely forgoes actual responses.

Yea I have no explanation on the COD front. :P

Perhaps though, they are allowed to see (certain) data from your account which they can gather stats from. However, making any necessary changes to it, they are prevented from doing.

With the weekly content packs, these are given to everyone so they could possibly just store the info for the packs server-side and give access to anyone and everyone. The special packs are probably also stored the same way but a certain field on your account (speculation this is what happens) must be changed by participating in said event. They check that field, and if you participated you gain access to the pack.  With no way to change this field, you can't be given access.

That's what I was thinking with that second point. Seems like it could be true, though I really have absolutely no idea (I don't know a lot of things).

Exactly why Bioware needs to step up to the plate and come forward in relation to these issues. The fact that they don't is suspisious to me. People make speculations, even me, however those speculations are based around logic thinking, not just randomly pointing a finger. Every argument has been answered with providing samples of similar setups that allow for stats tracking and account changes.

However when some one mentioned that other games had similar issues and was confronted to provide the names of said game the crickets came out to play ...<_<

These account changes are constantly done by most multiplayer games, you reach a certain rank, take a certain action, you unlock something. And before you say this is all done locally, rank and stats are stored remotely, this is why some users complain sometimes that their stats have been reset, only to find out a server was restarted or was down ...

Good points, and I will agree that the best course of action is that when Bioware either figures out how to get PS3 users involved or realizes they won't be able too, we get a solid answer from them about why it happened.  I assume for now, however, we won't know exact details as to why it's not being done until one of those conclusions is made. Otherwise, they probably (and hopefully) would have explained it to us if they could.

This, of course, leaves politics. And why on Earth or beyond would a developer crap on a system that they developed a game for? Why would EA allow that? Its ridiculous. For all your talk about logic you exercise none in constantly refusing to even think Sony could be the issue, this is why you're being seen as a fanboy.

Money .. it's been done before.

Personally I do not consider myself a fanboy, yes I love my PS3 but i admit that some games on xbox are better, that xbox live is better set up, however I do not have the room or desire to play multiple consoles. I do not slag the xbox or PC, they all have the pros and cons.

I bought the ME3 N7 edition under the impression that it was the same as the platforms taking away any framerate issues etc. What the PS3 users are being denied here is a limitation of the game yet the same money was taken from the users compared to those that do not have these limitations.

Except I never said it couldn't be Sony. In fact, I have said if they provided an actual answer as to why it's Sony, I'd have no problem believing it. I don't give two ****s and a flying **** about Sony. I chose PS3 as my console platform because I like their exclusives.

And they're already blaming Sony. All they're doing by saying "We're working with Sony" is inspiring people like you and countless others to attack Sony.

I actually don't recall seeing an ad hominem out of either of you, just a few petty insults here and there lol.

I think this argument cannot be resolved in a easy manner by either side. There are no facts to base arguments upon so it's really going to come down to one side believing Sony is fine and the other believing Bioware is fine. Hard to convince anyone to change sides really.

Ad hominems is basically ignoring someone's points and instead attacking them. Heian has done this by, for instance, insulting my grammar and I did it by calling him a joke after getting fed up with it. Many more people have done it by calling me a fanboy.

I could probably cite a dozen ad hominems in this thread, some even from myself. Though in my defense, only after I get fed up with receiving them.

Actually (from my understanding) it would only be an ad hominem if he said the reason you were wrong, is because you had bad grammar.  Simply saying you have bad grammar is not ad hominem, its an insult.

Also, if they say, you're wrong because you're just a PS3 fanboy, that's ad hominem. It really depends on the context.

But this is getting off topic (and it's been a while since my argumentive writing class!).

You never said it couldn't be sony?

...Just stop feeding us these "technical restrictions" and "working with Sony" lies, when they are easily proven wrong.

Our promotions at the least are being tracked.
Our BF3 stats are being tracked through the same Origin system by the same publisher.
What gives?

Well you certainly did a good job of implying that you felt this way in your original post.

At least bioware made some sort of a statement as to the reason why there is no event for PS3 users even though it may be vague. I havn't heard a statement from sony yet. Maybe you should be asking sony for a statement before you start placing most of the blame on bioware.

@gadna13- You're right, simply insulting my grammar is no ad hominem, but when he ignores the point of the post (Me noting that he's mixing my words up) in favor of insulting my grammar, it's an ad hominem.

If I am getting the argument right, because Microsoft has set up exclusivity for content with developers in the past, it sets up precedent for Bioware to lie about there being technical issues with Sony, and claim they are "working on it" when in reality they are not because they have an undisclosed agreement with Microsoft? Is this what some people believe?

If so, please light yourself on fire. Thank you.

@Dewart- As of right now, I don't believe it's Sony based on some loose evidence and mostly speculation. That's not to say if Bioware said "PS3 users can't participate because Sony is doing X" (or something along those lines) I wouldn't change my mind.

That is not being said, it is stated to dispute the facts that practices such as the above do not happen where they in fact do.

Though i dont care about these events,
Was a consumer who is to blame is not my concern, What i do know is that it was promised "Equal Experience" instead of doing like 90% of gamers would tell you "Next time buy the game in a different platform" just do the opposite, dont buy the game at all.

What claims? It is stated as a Technical Limitation without any background... Have you considered that it could be a Technical Limitation due to the fact that Bioware may not know how to code for PS3. This is why people are looking for answers which are not being given.

This is an event hosted by Bioware, through a game developed by Bioware. First responsibility of functionality lies with Bioware. If i cannot go online due to a PSN issue I will take it to Sony, If Bioware is promoting an event that PS3 users are being denied on I take it to Bioware to say "cad e an sceal" ..

No, that's simply ignoring and insulting you.

He did not say "You have terrible grammar so I can't believe you."

He would have use his insult as a means of disregarding your arguments, not just as a means of insulting you.

Of course, I'm only looking at that one post in question. There may have been an ad hominem argument somewhere, but I'm not seeing it there.
