I think however they ended up fighting their way through in the end. I had no idea that the ones I picked would show up, I just tossed out a couple of options of those that I thought cared enough to come out there. And there they were. Whoops! It worked though!

I thought we were toast when I heard that. Somehow, it worked.

As a female rogue it was just too easy to lure in the guard with feminine wiles and take him out. Then, what else does a rogue do more naturally than pretend to be something or someone she's not? I didn't have any companions waiting for me at the front gates though. See? Even they had confidence in my ability to escape.

That was the point where Zevran was already my joint favourite character with Morrigan, and he became my favourite during the rescue.

You have to say something like "I'm sure someone will come for us..." and then when Alistair asks which of your companions would be crazy enough to do that, you get to pick who you want to use.tigrina wrote...
Hmm I did the breaking out method. Where do you get the choice of breaking in or out? Seems like I missed out on some cool moments here.
Ah! Thanks, I missed that one.

Oghren: "Take the dog, they said. He'll get you in, they said."
I read somewhere that if you break yourself out and get to the front door (I assume violently) that party members are there saying they were about to rescue you or something. Is this true?
Heh heh, all the companions have good lines when talking to Dog while waiting for the captain, but Oghren is one of the best.
And yes, if you break out yourself, two of the companions will rush to help you when you get near the exit. I got Alistair and Morrigan -- don't know if it's random or because these two are the "important" NPCs. Alistair was relieved that they didn't have to "try the dress" and Morrigan wanted to know what took me so long.
Breaking out, even if it involved (in my case) a rather neat moment of a naked beaten-up prisoner snapping a guard's neck through the bars of her cell, isn't as fun as having the companions help, so I reloaded. Same with figthing Cauthrien -- although yes, it is strange that she'd let the others go. Seems like a surprisingly dumb move, on her part and Loghain's.

Rogues for the win.
Though the entire scene of walking around as a guard was just funny as hell for breaking out and using the armor. And no, I'm not too short to be a guard.

And then there's the whole deal where if you seduce your cell guard, he takes off his armor but keeps his helmet on. Kinky or disturbing?

Looked at it twice, thought Nah, these are all Loghains humans, may as well kill them all.
Butchered my way through the place top to bottom, and just as we reach the main gates Lelliana and Morrigan turn up.
"Oh we had a plan to rescue you
"But this seems fun anyway"
Left Fort Drakon full of dead bodies... Which never got cleaned up apparently by the time we returned. Couldnt help but wonder if the Fort would have stood up a bit better if I had left the guards alive. Ho hum.

The guard doesn't believe her because there is already someone inside from the Chantry already doing that. So now Wynne turns to Morrigan and says "Let us pray sister" *they both get on their knees* "Dear Maker, please have pity on these poor souls for they do not understand, please protect them from any bodily harm and I pray that they do not get boils on their skin" I cant remember the exact prayer, but it's somewhere along those lines.
Now finally one of the guard started to freak out and gets the captain and he lets us in. Weird part though is I ended up fighting anyway once I was in deeper in the Fort, was this suppose to happen? Was it because I was running and not walking? The fights were pretty difficult for me, with 2 mages and all, I had to do alot nuke/kite strategy, up until I got to where the ballistas are at.

I think Sten's fun to bring into Fort Drakon. The line he delivers when he opens your cell is absolutely sweet.
I totally agree Sten's line when he opens your cell had me laughing out loud like a complete dork alone at 2am.

I choose to break out of my cell. I faked a sickness and used my fists to kill the guard. Fought my way through. When I got close to the end, I found Alistair and Morrigan already fighting the guards.
This is exactly what happened to me. I didn't see the point of waiting for someone to rescue me, although after reading this thread I now see that I've missed out on some pretty hilarious moments. But I'm curious how some people wound up with jail companions and some didn't. When I woke up in jail I was by myself, and thought that was the only option; but a friend of mine who's playing this at the same time had both Alistair and Wynne in the cell with him, while a number of you have at least had Alistair. Does it depend on which companions you had with you at the time of capture? Perhaps the order in which your party went down in the fight? I had Zevran, Wynne and Morrigan with me but I can't remember who was the last one standing. But they all avoided jail somehow and Morrigan even was able to come back with Alistair to "rescue" me. Incidentally, I didn't find them fighting the guards so much as I was fighting the guards in the last room and they came running in to help.
Possibly the best thing about waking up in jail alone is that Anora had to go back to Arl Eamon's estate and tell everyone that she kinda sorta got their leader thrown in jail. Alistair was not amused.

Oghern: The giant here tells jokes and sings, while I juggle swords!
Sten: Which are on fire.
Guard: um no..
Oghern: Sod it, GET EM!
Also hearing sten say: I realize the irony of this moment, when he gets you out of prison is priceless.
