How about you just take the credits, exit the lobby, and spend your credits on spectre packs and not be so holier than thou with your "I do not accept hacked credits" attitude?
Don't worry about it. I doubt Bioware is going to do anything to one time offenders, even two or three time offenders.

Yeah best thing to do is not to spend anything and wait for contact from an official at BW. Being up front and not taking advantage of the system affected by the cheater is the safest thing. You may find that they tell you that it's cool to spend it if you identify the cheater or something.

Posté 30 mars 2012 - 06:06
Yeah, I already sent an email to Bioware. Unfortunately I didn't write down the cheaters name since I quit because of panic.

If you earn other credits you can spend those. Just keep a 3 million credit "floor" and don't dip below it. Just like my bank account.

Agree with tomhagen27s vending machine explanation. Also, not really sure how the cheating works but if I were to see more credits in my bank how would I even know if its a bug or a cheat? Furthermore, if someone who hasn't heard of any situation of credit cheating what reason do they have to suspect wrongdoing on their part, and what motivation would they have at all to put effort into bioware or EA over ignoring the issue and enjoying the happenstance of the situation?

Posté 30 mars 2012 - 06:32
Even though bioware staff SHOULD be making an official statement regarding this, but aren't.. the best route would be to sit on said credits, and contact BW with a description of the incident, and the host of the game, so they can deal with the actual cheater, and remove any associated credits as well.

Spend it. You aren't the one who was cheating.

Bioware / EA may not think so ;(

I don't know why they would punish other members for playing with someone who cheated. It isn't your fault if the system sticks you in a match with a cheater

But it's still my choice to spend the credits.

One more voice in support of the idea of keeping a 3 million credit "floor" and not letting yourself drop below that until you hear from Bioware, just in case.
I have to imagine you won't be punished after contacting them through multiple channels -- and if you are still somehow punished, you have these messages as records that you tried to do the right thing, so they can set it right. I think you are wise to ignore everyone who advises you to go on a spending spree right now. I have been burned by too many companies' clerical errors and technical issues to have faith that something like that would actually work out for you.
Also, happy to help bump this until you get an official response.

Thanks for your support. Now we have to wait for Bioware's support.

why dont bioware give you credits you earned if you disconnect before the game ends? bioware says it's because it can be exploited.
So why might spending hacked credit get banned even if you didnt hack the game yourself? well, because it can be exploited too. Say, if its ok to spend hacked credit, and you really want those spectre packs. instead of spend hundreds of real money to buy bioware points, you can just spend 39 and buy a new online pass, then host a hacked game to give your real account stupid amount of credits.

Until bioware restores the relocked items on players accounts, I would say who gives a damn if you spend it.

I would never buy gear with real money if I can just do the same with virtual money. And I'm a gambler. EA Bioware will not lose any money from people like me or cheaters because of that so it seems like a moot point.CPT Capslock wrote...
But for EA, credits in ME3 are money because they implemented the possibility to buy packs with bioware points. : /

You're being overly cautious. You didn't cheat, you already reported the one that did and you've addressed it on the forums. If BioWare cares they'll tell you, but for now assume they don't. Also, lots of people have been saving their credits and have millions legitimately. Spending them isn't going to get you banned, it makes no sense.

In my opinion, writing to tell ea/bioware about it is enough. You didn't cheat yourself, and you can't erase the credits from your account. The game is co-op and has no trading/economy, so magically generating credits doesn't really hurt anyone. I'd say just don't worry about it that much and go spend them on whatever you want.

That's what happened a few weeks ago. Dunno how this thing ended. "Overly cautious", you say?
Edit: Nevermind, it seems that this guys was cheating.

Any ill-gotten goods aren't worth it. I would personally report it and not spend the credits. I don't want to take anything I didn't earn and I am definitely not going to keep quiet so someone else can continue to cheat the system.

Posté 30 mars 2012 - 07:43
Don't spend any of it till you speak to ea/bioware about it.
People do cheat through friends. That's why they tend to ban people who "profit" from a cheater.
