Not in this world, and as an engineer, I'd say not in the future.

It's common knowledge that a security feature for military and private facilities is to electrify a lot of things, including vents, and fences.

WELL OF COURSE THERE'S GOING TO BE A CAUTION SIGN NEXT TO THE DROPSHIPS ENTRANCE

A lot of dangerous things can happen when entering a moving or potentially may move soon-vehicle.

this game is chock full of foreshadowing. none of which makes it better or fixes the plot holes or provide logical conclusions to already established themes, patterns, etc. On my first playthrough, I believed that Shepard was being indoctrinated - hearing voices in dreams, seeing children no one else sees, etc.

All the points of indoctrination are there as they have been previously laid out in the game. For me, the one fact I keep coming back to is that Bioware stated numerous times through their dogs of marketing, etc. that "this is the last game with Shepard"; for this to be true, indoctrination does not work. Indoctrination would lead to another game or DLC which means this game is incomplete which opens a whole other can of worms for Bioware and EA because they both just became Capcom.

Of course, the game could be completely ended with indoctrination but it would still be incomplete on its face, because we have no context in which to judge who wins. And I'm sorry, I don't play games, read books, take road trips just for the journey, I like the destination as much if not more.

Is this what our brave new world is going to be like? Participation ribbons for all because the journey is the more important part? "How you get there may be the worthier part" but that doesn't discount the fact that every journey has a destination.

The journey is more important? I always feel like it was a colossal waste of time if the destination is crap.

I agree wholeheartedly, but the one line Bioware/Ea and all the pro-enders keep throwing out is "but what about the journey, it was an amazing journey" which is just a crap way of saying it was a great ride but we decided to run into a ditch on purpose because we didn't know how to stop the car.

I'm just guessing this all very important to the story,

What do you mean? That's its not important?

No, I meant the kid is important.

Okay, the comma threw me off. Thanks.

But, I still think that the kid has zero importance to the story.

The kid is simply a literary device to try and express Shepard's emotional agony or how ever best to put it, and I think that it doesn't work (that it doesn't translate well into the game, better for a written work, like a book, IMHO).

I'm trying hard to find this texture in the game. I wonder if the other characters are legible.

I found it.  The fine text is illegible.  The most you can read is "stop code 89".  It is packed in a texture file with 12 other warning signs.

I dare you to go in a high-security private facility and crawl around in the vents. If you don't die from electricity, you'll die from high powered fans that will chop you to bits.

I'd suggest you've been playing too much Half-Life.  But oh well.  You win.

There are no electric vents or high powered fans in vents in Half Life... so no.

In any case, Mass Effect 2 already had a reference about how crawling around in vents is bad because you may fall into a nutrient tank or be chopped up by the fans sucking you into them.

It has live Geth, an unshackled AI, and every alien species has visited it other than a few...

If it ISN'T indoctrinated I'd be amazed.

Just out of curiosity, is it possible to blow up the text at the top and bottom of the warning sign? Or is it all completely illegible? If this is a sign of indoctrination theory, the text might actually state something to that extent.

Then again, it's very possible we're still grasping at straws; looking at this as if Stanley Kubrick made the game, as opposed to Bioware. :\\

Vega: "Does anyone else hear that humming? Is that just me?"  (If we get an ending DLC, the very first place I'm re-searching is the Life Support room. Seriously, it has no purpose ingame and every other unused room is blocked off.)

I always thought it was him saying that your talking was humming to him and thus a noise he didn't want to hear but strangely could and wondered if anyone else could.

Also obviously Life Support is where Harbinger is.

The star child looks exactly like this kid.  I mean, it's down to the shirt, hairstyle, everything.

There is a reason for this.  Maybe ID, maybe the being read Shepard's mind and for some reason used this kid to present himself (if so, why not his LI or Anderson?).

I mean, you are absolutely right.  There is an emotional aspect to the kid.  I at first thought that was the only thing to it, but after star kid...to me, there's something else going on.
