I'm almost certain the host will never have to suffer from the Vanguard glitches. If you've experienced them, you weren't host.SinerAthin wrote...

I have never had that glitch happen when I'm hosting. In fact, I've never had any vanguard glitch happen while I'm hosting. No charge delay, no falling off the map, no getting killed by lag.

I've been using a Phalanx on my HV. I love it because it's a really well-rounded weapon: good damage, reasonable fire rate (I don't like very low firing rates as a HV), light, fast reload, good clip size, and good at range. Some of the popular shotguns (disciple, scimitar) have reload times too long for me, and aren't really great at range either unless you use a choke in which case you're giving up another valuable weapon mod. And while the Carnifex is pretty good, I hate its small clip size (chasing ammo boxes in the middle of matches makes me a sad panda) and slow firing rate. Still, since weapons aren't hugely important for vanguards (HVs at least) you can make a lot of different combinations work depending on playstyle. Top 5 weapons IMO would be some combination of phalanx, carnifex, disciple, scimitar, and one of evisc/katana/wraith.
