QA is up to the PUBLISHER. I posted this in a different thread.
The publishers do like to take control.

" Look at the most recent one with those poor guys at Obsidian. They did Fallout: New Vegas, the ship date got moved up and, who does the QA on a project? The publisher is always in charge of QA. When a project goes out buggy, it’s not the developer. The developer never says, “I refuse to fix the bug,” or, “I don’t know how.” They never do that. It’s the publisher that does the QA, so if a product goes out buggy, it’s not the developer’s fault."
Well I just donated another $300 that's all I can spare. Guys you better donate! Make this happen. This is really something when Wasteland 2 I'm gonna take a good long look at every other rpg released in the same time and see if there is anything remotely comparable to the awesome of this team.

Like Dungeon Siege 3 a game made by Obsidian on their own engine...

You cannot believe… it’s awful. It’s really bad. You should try to dig in and get some stories out there. Look at the most recent one with those poor guys at Obsidian. They did Fallout: New Vegas, the ship date got moved up and, who does the QA on a project? The publisher is always in charge of QA. When a project goes out buggy, it’s not the developer. The developer never says, “I refuse to fix the bug,” or, “I don’t know how.” They never do that. It’s the publisher that does the QA, so if a product goes out buggy, it’s not the developer’s fault. So, (Fallout: New Vegas) goes out buggy and they didn’t do the QA, their ship date got moved up and they missed their metacritic rating by one point. Did they get a bonus? No. Do you think that’s fair? I tried to get some of my publisher friends, who I used to make a lot of money for, to donate. Do you think they donated? No. Their employees did.

Don't worry he'll be busy getting ripped off by Capcom and I linked that already.

The same situation applies to most developers out there, yet from my experience Obsidian games are one of the most buggy ones after release. So I just refuse to belive that it is all publisher's fault.
Is there some kind of conspiarcy amongst publishers to treat Obsidian badly ? No I dont think so.
Unpolished buggy and sometimes even unfinished games is all I ever got from Obsidian so excuse me but I won't sing praises about them.
And to tell you the truth I don't like their games all that much. NWN2 is the only Obsidian game that I like.

I dunno. Obsidian games have a really bad rep for being buggy.
Games made by Bethesda or Bioware have just as much if not more bugs. But they got free pass by "game" journalist.
And in Europe Obsidian games get more praise than in USA.

If the overall project is good as long as the bugs don't damage the saves and the work on patches, then I sill always overlook them. I mean one of my favorite games will always be AP. Do I need to list the bugs in AP?

Just raised my pledge.
UPDATE. An important clarification from Brian Fargo via email -- Obsidian will only help design the game, all the coding will be done in-house at InXile:
Also, remember PPL... Bugs get fixed, bad game design and writing does not !

So bump!
For folks concerned about lacking a credit card -- prepaid creditcards (debit cards) like the VISA 3V Card will work just fine for backing these projects.

This GIF is hilariously appropriate. What a legendary roster. 2.1 million USD? Yeah, we can do that. The goldrush towards the end of the KickStarter should put it well past that. We're already at 1.7 million.

+1, although really this shouldn't end up quite as buggy as most Obidian games with the coding not being done by Obsidian, heh.
