Should the Star Child be removed completely?

I certainly think so. But I think some open debate is in order, to find out what the overall opinion of the BSN is.

This lovely character turns up in the last 5 minutes of the game, steals the limelight, and forces Shepard to do his bidding. He doesn't even get a chance to say no. Removing the Star Child, and replacing him with a different ending that has logic, would be the best move in my book.

Now, I know about the indoctrination theory. The idea that this is either poor quality writing, or the best idea Bioware has ever had. Now of course, if the IT turns out to be true, I will happily dig into some humble pie. But I want to explore here, the hypothesis that the IT is wrong, and how Bioware could fix a broken ending.

So... think the game would be better without the Starchild being in the game at all?

I wouldn't miss the spacebrat.

Yes. 90% of the problems with the ending are tied up with the introduction of that character at the 11th hour 59th minute.

Hmm, I worry that this thread will be taken with hostility by some... remember folks, its opinion, not fact, Be excellent to each other.

I would say yes but then i think about how much fun it would be to launch him out of a cannon into the sun.

Yes, but I think it's an unrealistic expectation.

No doubt, but there is no harm in hypothesis.

They should remove the starchild, the kid it's based on in the beggining, and remove him from the dream sequences. Just get rid of the kid entirely. They can leave the dream sequences in, they're fine. Just have some other thing you're chasing there.

Either removed completely or revealed to be a indoctrination induced hallucination.

The cutscene where the kid is killed in the beginning is fine.  Good memories.

Dreams were annoying.  Felt like a pompous art student was shoving something grotesquely pretentious in my face while shouting at me to appreciate it.

Wasn't there a large group of polls with this as one of the questions and the large majority said star child needed to go or be bypassed in some way?

From a personal opinion perspective; absolutely.

From an unbiased opinion; bleh .. there are some people who like the space-brat ending, so I can't say I'd support removing it completely.

Best solution I've seen thus far is adding a Paragon/Renegade interrupt to allow players to either stick to the current ending or branch down an improved one.

They should put him in the Spectre Shooting Range so I have a reason to use it.

Both StarChild and StarGazer should be removed without mercy. They do nothing but create plot holes and/or destroy the universe.

Definately! It was an unnecessary addition that came out of nowhere and turned the reapers from unimaginable killing machines to puppets

It would create more plot holes though seeing as starchild was brought up in ME1&2 in a way.
