I hate that thing with a passion. Worst thing they added to the series.

I am amazed. So far i've hardly seen one post even try to defend the Starchild. A few accepting it probably won't happen. but the overall opinion so far, is that he has to go.

Right I would of prefered Harbinger explain why the Reapers were doing what they did. I just don't like the idea of destroying earth to save them from synthetics. the whole organics v. synthetics was resolved via. quarians geth so I would of prefered a different reason the Reapers were here

I think Harbinger should reprise the Catalyst lines, and tweak them a bit. The very existence of the Catalyst AI is one of the few remaining things I just can't accept as canon. That and the writing staffs need to destroy the Mass Relays at all.

If the Catalyst goes, I may be able to start accepting the ending easier

Attempting to defend the endings on this forum is a good way to get yourself flamed into a tiny crispy Soylent Green remnant.

Did anybody really think the Reapers manifested from thin air? Seriously? People want closure, but they don't want more backstory on the reapers.

Everyone knows that its not a God child right? Its the original Reaper AI manifesting as the child thats haunted you all game.

Part of me wants to continue this explanation, but a larger part of me knows nobody cares, youre either cool with it or your not, and nothing is changing your mind.

Oh, i've seen it happen. The problem is, that those who i've seen post that they enjoy the ending, post their thread in such a way as to intentionally trigger inflammatory comments. I am all open to people disagreeing with me. All I ask is that they have a credible reason for doing so.

Remove Star Childs = 90% of problems with the plot holes and ending in general are fixed.

It is too late, the most tasteful thing to do is work around him or use IT.
Taking him out completely would bad form.

As much as I don't like him it would be like removing JarJar from SW I know a lot of people hated him but a few people really like him...

I would love to hear your explanation. I think the reapers were a species that saw a good reason for making themselves into a monster (Because of dark energy not to control Chaos) if they really wanted to control choas they would just not let themselves make synthetics.

Nope. Just have Bioware declare it indoctrination and then deliver the rest of the game. Easiest fix.

AI Vent Boy was a mistake to put in the game. There have been other posts on here that laid out what should have been, and the best to me was that there should not have been any abstract discussion or "choice" at the very end. Your choices were made all through out the 3 games, and once you beat what ever the final fight was, then The Ending should have played out based on all of your previous choices. EMS too small and you fail, or a little more and you only partially succeed, or succeed, but do secondary damage to all the worlds, or EMS is medium, but you and members of you team die in the process, and only at the very highest is it possible for Shepard to survive, too. And a freak'n epilogue would be nice, too. It could have been as basic as the one in DA:O and I would have been fine with that.

Yes. Nearly every single problem with the ending and all of the plotholes created stem from this one character. It's like someone tried to write something that would cause fans pain.

If Bioware aren’t going to go the indoctrination route - then I would urge them to consider removing the “starchild.”

It is the plot device that ruins the ending to ME3. Every line of dialogue it utters
introduces plot-holes, contradictions, contrivances and circular logic
that ultimately unravels the story of not only ME3 but the preceding two
games. The coup de grace is the offering of three offensive endings
that provide us with varying degrees of genocide/eugenics.

As others have said, take out the starchild and you’re left with a pretty decent and emotional ending.

Ideally, this is what I'd want, remove the child completely.

As Bioware doesn't want to retcon, but seems instead bent on adding to the ending, I don't see it happening though.
