Sizing for M65 Vintage jackets

Don't know if it's been asked before because a search is turning up nothing, but is there a better sizing chart anywhere for the M65 N7 jackets? I'd like to get one and I know my size in actual Army issued gear, but the replica jackets use a completely different sizing model in most cases.

I've never seen anything measured by 'length' and 'width' before - not sure how these measurements would stand up to actual chest measurements? Has anyone put together a better sizing list, or maybe is there someone similar to my height 5'7, 38" chest that could point me toward what size is closest?
