Ok so after browsing these forums for several day I saw no mention of the build i did and see this as a good place to post it.

I Feel I made a very good, albeit not perfect 2h warrior build. So i focused the vast majority of skill points into str and some into will. I have alistir as a pure tank setup and leliana mostly for opening chests plus some additionl damage and wynne as support.

I always see everyone bashing reaver and saying the war skills granted in wardens keep as being not so useful. I have my war with berserk, powerful swings, precise striking, blood frenzy, aura of pain, and the skill from Wc always up(forgot the name but the one that takes constant damage and boosts attack speed and damage). This build is based primarily on damage. My base damage is like 110. When my health is less than 50% its like 130. combined with a rapid attack speed and upwards of 30% critical chance i can destroy anything very quickly. Blood frenzy is only useful with lowered health and aura of pain plus the WC ability allow me to maintain this. With alistair taking all the damage and me destroying everything this has proven extremely useful. Also when i have wynne throw up haste it gets even better.

I have around 88% acc and over 60% contribution to party damage. BTW i am using chasind great maul from gorim in denerim.

Any thoughts?

A tip for anyone starting a 2hander is get the sunders asap as well as 2handed sweep. Sunder armor and 2hand sweep at level 10 & 11 (in whatever order you prefer) is a good idea or if you use talent books maybe both at 10!

Those attributes aren't anything new. I definitely agree with you on the WK talents though...blood thirst is invaluable (especially so if you go reaver, I'd imagine). I'm still caught between going Reaver and Champion as a second spec though. I was actually pretty keen on the former, until I realised that frightening appearance wasn't actually a passive stun effect (which is really should be imo 0_o). Question is, how much of a saving grace is blood frenzy? Unless it adds huge amounts of damage at precariously low levels of life, then I'm pretty sure the ability to stack rally and a cheap aoe knockdown every 20 seconds would be the better option.

Does anyone know of any good freeware program that lets you capture video from the game? I know of FRAPS, but it costs money...

Basically I need to take some videos of me playing my 2h warrior. Currently I'm at 95% hit rate and 55% of party damage done. The 2h spec can be good if you build/play correctly. I wrote a thread on it on these boards... I think it's fallen a few pages though.

I use xfire video for now, which is actually surprisingly decent. There are others I've tried in the past though, such as wegame (client + website), that are possibly worth a mention. What did you intend to process them with btw?

On a side note, good thread that :D I think more people need to get to capturing some ingame 2-handed nightmare action, just to disprove the "useless spec" myth surrounding the build. I've actually got a few up myself on youtube, though mainly bosses at the minute (in the process of collecting footage from various skirmishes though, and intend to hash it together when I get the chance)

I got my Warrior to about 40 strength using level ups, after the Fade portion and some other items, he had about 50+ strength. With precise striking he was almost always hitting things, even with it off, his hit rate was still pretty damned high.

Willpower was at about 35-40. Precise striking + Indomitable were always on, he almost never got knocked down or pushed back. Sunder Armor is just pure gravy. TWO hits + armor reduction, often a great opening move. Sweep is also wonderful. Get an ability that makes people notice you and let them crowd you, sweep will make you laugh maniacally.

A question for anyone, does the armor reduction from Sunder Armor stack with the last skill from that line? The one where every blow reduces armor.

Putting WP into your 2h warrior (or any warrior probably) is a futile exercise currently. They finally "fixed" Deathblow and it gives awesome stamina regen based on the level of the enemy you killed.

I haven't put any points at all into WP on my current 2h warrior and I spam special attacks like they're going out of style.

It's another one of those first instinct things. Critical strike and mighty blow would seem like the go to talents for damage, but with a better understanding of game mechanics it turns out that the "support talents" are actually more effective.

Stunning blows seems to proc more often with Mighty Blow and Critical Strike though, which can be very useful. I don't know what the deal is, maybe you have a higher chance to stun on big hits or crits, but it's definitely the case.

I've noticed that. My normal attacks barely seem to do it, but Mighty/Critical seem to stun frequently.

I think I've found the solution. According to the detailed tooltips mod, Stunning Blows and Destroyer only proc on critical hits.

By the way, Sten is so much fun with his sword and the Death legion armor.

im using 2hder on a nighmare playthrough and works just fine, just dont play him like a tank, have a tank(alistair) to take the heat, dont worry about dex, to have enough defence to be useful, you would have to cripple your strength which is a 2hders saving grace, so rely on armor and constitution, id recommend taking the beserker/champion specs, i personally have beserker/reaver for role playing but only frightening appearance is good from reaver
