It usually depends on what class I'm playing as, but for my main soldier Shepard it goes like this.

ME: Tali and Liara for pretty much the entire game. Perfect balance between combat, tech and biotics.
ME2: Tali, Garrus, Samara, Kasumi(Really missed having Kasumi in my squad in ME3)
ME3: Tali, Garrus, Liara, Javik

Yeah, I pretty much use Tali more than anyone else in the series.

Tali and Garrus ME1-ME3

Game 2: Miranda
Game 3: Liara

Would take Liara in Game 2 instead of Miranda without second thought (Miranda only cause of squad damage buff was always with me not cause of any other reason).

I agonise between Liara and Garrus, by far my most favourite characters and they both have some powerful attacks

Garrus has pretty much been my go-to guy for the entire ME series. He's always useful, whether he's pulling out his sniper rifle and taking out people from afar, or murdering the shields of anyone around me.

In ME1, I used Garrus with mostly Liara or Tali.

In ME2, I used Garrus with Jack or Miranda.

In ME3, I used Garrus and Liara EXCLUSIVELY. Liara and Garrus pretty much decimate Cerberus. The hardest time I had in the game was when I didn't have Garrus or Liara, and I was fighting Cerberus in the courtyard of the Biotic Academy... it was a horrible experience.

Fighting Cerbies?  Tali.  It's always a riot when the first thing a freshly deployed sentry turret does is gun down its own engineer because Tali haxx'd it. 

Not an option in Act 1 though.

me3 nope they all seem lifeless  javik maybe but thats about it.

I try to rotate in all games, but I always used Thane in ME 2.

Never used Kaiden, Ashley, Jacob when I didn't have to.
