It has swords... uh, and you can get different swords.
There are swords, cuz there are knights...
... once you get enough energy crystals, you can get a shield!

battle feels tactical if you want it to, or smooth and seemless if you prefer that. Voice acting is phenomenal and the world itself, in my opinion, stands alone.
I've completed two playthroughs and I will be playing at least two more, with even more possible with any upcoming dlc or big expansions.
It's all in the eye of the beholder but I find this game to be great. (pun)

The massive amount of dialogue and mostly brilliant voice acting. And the fact that the player's choices actually matter. And party banter! 'Tis most amusing.
I've been playing since I was 4 and I must admit that DA:O is one of my favouritest mages... I mean games ever :3

This is not a game, this is a story that you personally take part in, and may I say, it's wonderful.
I would like to pre-order Dragon age 2 as soon as possible :-)

DAO has taken the RPG genre and stood it on its head. All the best in RPG’s have been improved. Not one aspect of this game looks or feels “old.” It holds your interest from the jump. It involves you in a good story and will get you emotionally attached to your companions, genuinely concerned about them and in each of their personal histories.
If you enjoy RPG’s generally you are going to love this game.

although this could be a personal problem with the next "chapter", depending on how they handle it: i'd really hate to start over with a new bunch

If you like story driven RPGS ala old school youll love it but if you prefer more pure action then you likely wont.

The characters are exciting. Personally I've been using the same 3 companions since I got them, so that gives me replay value.
The Skill Tree's have it so you'll definitely have to replay it access every skills and figure out what's better and what's worse.
Personally, halfway through my first playthrough, while I wasn't bored at all, I was so excited imaging what char and skills I would role next.

BLASPHEMER!!!! You will be cleansed by fire followed by a bath in bleach and then force fed freshly cooked waffles till you explode. It is a fate not suited for your type of filth.
Always remember no one suspects the waffle inquisition.
