If it is any consolation, part of my heritage is Norweigan, of which i am quite proud. Hope to get there someday for a visit. The other part is Dutch.

I am also from Oregon and have Norwegian and Dutch ancestors.
Then there's the Danish side of my family, the German side, Belgians, French, Italians, English, Scottish, Irish, Canadians and of course the Cherokee… Gotta love a melting pot.

That being said, the quality of the public education system in America is rather shameful and has been for decades, so there is at least a kernal of truth in the joke.
