Redcliffe kind of had a haunted western feel to it, and I really liked that.
The Broodmother looked a lot like that overweight vampire in Blade. Not particularly frightening, just gross.
What's the creepiest/eeriest part of the game for you?

No contest: the whole section with Hespith and the broodmother. "Creepy" is too mild a word, it really made me sick.
I'm archnophobic, and the first half-dozen or so spider fights were really hard on my nerves. Ugh. That hiss and the way they abseil out of nowhere ...
That, I have to hear. How do you trigger it?

Lol the creepiest? Deffinately the Orphanage in the Alienage...that's some creepy **** with those background noises and screams and creepy childhood verses.
"1, 2 where are you
3,4, the armies at war
5,6 take the risk
7,8,9 and now you die*Creepy little boy laughter*"
*shudders*

The freaking orphanage... that was too scary... especially when the demon looks at you from below the floor...yikes!

I had seen the Brood mother video on the website prior to the games release. I was literally shuddering in my chair when I started to hear Hespith's rhyme. I was expecting to round the corner and run face first in to that monstrosity at any moment. Totally creeped me out. That was one place where the spoilers actually heightened the game play forme.

I'd have to agree it would be the Broodmother area. The top of the mage tower as well, for some reason, but not nearly as much.
Also whenever you get attacked by dogs, and those howls they make... but that's probably just because I'm afraid of dogs, since nobody else seems to think it's creepy.
The orphanage was slightly creepy because I played that particular part very late at night, but it probably wouldn't've been otherwise.

Hespith's rhyme in the Broodmother's area was what I considered to be the creepiest part of the game:
"First day they come and catch everyone
Second they beat us and eat some for meat
Third day the men are all gnawed on again
Fourth day we wait in fear for our fate
Fifth day they return and it's another girl's turn
Sixth day her screams we hear in our dreams
Seventh we hated as she is violated
Eigth day she grew as in her mouth they spewl
Nine day she grins, and devours her kin
Now she feasts, as she's become the beast"
The orphanage... I don't know, I wasn't really phased by it. I think The Cradle in Thief 3 may have desensitized me to that sort of thing. Compared to The Cradle, the orphanage in DA is a walk in the park.

Definately. I didn't get much sleep that night, like I imagine my poor elf didn't either.Pious_Augustine wrote...

Turn your volume off when you're attacked by the spiders, its even creepier then.
I had the sound off because I had been on the phone, when the spiders popped up and jumped my party I jumped in my chair. Scared the cat.

Hespith/Broodmother, definitely. I've never let Branka live, mostly because of that.

Bring Morrigan/Sten in the same team and it shows up during the bantering.
As for me, it is broodmother, then Teagans dance. I probably got more creeped out by the dance initially though, since I was spoiled on the broodmother.

The entire broodmother bit, the Elven Orphanage (just because of the scary morbid poetry reciting children), and the scary morbid child in Haven.
Basically anything with creepy children reciting morbid poetry...

Well, the obvious ones, Broodmother especially with the rhymes, and top of Circle's tower (since my first run was on a mage).
Special mention though of the meeting with your first friend on a Dalish Elf run later on in game. The 'that could have been me' feeling combined with that I totally didn't expect it.

Oghren getting all mushy... with my male character.
(Turns out he was trying to get up the gonads to 'splain about his old mistress, but it sure seemed like he was heading the wrong way.)

Hespith's little rhyme freaked me out when I first heard her recite it. Which was then made even worse by her confirmation of what the Broodmother's role is for the Darkspawn. *shudders*
The Orphanage would have been a lot more foreboding had, as someone else pointed out, we were given a bit more of a reason to care about what was happening in that place beyond wanting to complete the quest. Still I will say that the atmosphere was absolutely stunning regardless of that fact, so I'd still rate it pretty high on my own list of places that weirded me out while playing.

The broodmother didn't really get me...a big 6 titted bald monster with a huge mouth and small fat arms and tons of tentacles...eh...I think it more reminds me of low quality Japanese Hentai...you know...girls getting raped by tentacle monsters?...that sorta thing.
Although the Hespith part is deffinately creepy...her verse...man...
but I still have to admit the blood drenched Orphanage is just creepy...I mean are you guys not unnerved by an ORPHANAGE...aka parentsless CHILDREN, soaked in BLOOD?...with ghosts screeching and saying creepy poetry?...i am =S

For me it wasn't so much the Broodmother itself, more the backstory.

The dead trenches and Hespith's rhyme, along with the little boy's poem in Haven. After hearing about Bonnie Lynne, I was seriously expecting to come across some other kid playing hopscotch with hollowed-out, polished, human knuckle bones.
And the spiders are bad anywhere, but especially in the trenches.
