Yeah, he was kinda corny, but I genuinely liked him. I don't get why there was such a backlash about his addition to the roster. After all, we got a ton of new characters added in ME2, and nobody whined about that, right? So why not have new squaddies in 3?
Where's the "not sure you serious" joker picture when you need it...
Did anyone like James Vega?

The anime is not his purpose within Mass Effect 3. Also, Javik's role in the game isn't even essential.Grimskull89 wrote...
Ehh.. I kinda question why they gave us him over Javik, I understand that they are using him as the main character for the anime (interest lost for me).
Well according to an old game informer, Bioware says he is supposed to reflect the perspective of those new to the series.
However non-essential Javik is, I still feel he would have been a better addition to the team than Vega.. Vega is a grunt and if I had the option he would have been canon fodder, felt the same about Ashley and she always dies in my playthroughs. Though, I might keep her alive if I ever have the will to play through all the way to ME3 again..
Javik is a prothean, that race that had a rather important role from the beginning of the series, slightly less important in ME2, and again very important in ME3. Also gives us more perspective on grander things in the universe like the previous cycle.

Christ! Anderson does NOT die at the end. At least, not that we see anyway...
???
He bleeds to death right in front of you... and then the space station his corpse is on explodes.
Pretty sure he's dead...
!!!MORE SPOILERS BELOW!!!
!!!REALLY, LIKE, MASSIVE ONES!!!
Ah, I see.
Yeah, in that case Anderson does die.
Just after you walk down an actual, literal corridor on the citadel that is an actual, literal amalgamation of Shepard's memories and have an actual, literal chat with the illusive man who has actually, literally just appeared out of nowhere while actual, literal tendrils of black stuff reach actually and literally into your mind and just before you go and have a conversation with an actual, literal child who is actually and literally made of light and who actually and literally controls the reapers and who makes you make an actual, literal choice between three possible conclusions all of which leads to an actual, literal collapse of all the mass relays and sends an actual, literal shockwave out across the galaxy which only the Normandy, which is actually, literally being flown by Joker with all your teammates actually, literally on board, can actually and literally survive.
Yeah, then he dies. Literally.
This is getting daft now.

He was an extremely offensive character. Did we really need a Hispanic stereotype? All that was missing was the bean and cheese.
I really hope Bioware did it unintentionally. I really, really hope.
If you're going to do a minority, try portraying them positively rather than as a brute.
What the heck are you talking about? Other than occasionally using spanish, what about him was stereotypically Hispanic?
I also don't get the whole thing about him being a brute. Did you actually use him? Or just say "oh, he's muscular, must be a mindless thug?" Because he's not brutish at all.

My first impressions of him weren't very good, I didn't begin to warm up to him until I heard/saw some of his banter with Steve Cortez. Sadly other squadmates do kind of outshine him at the end of the game, I guess it's the curse of the human male ME squadmates.

To me it seemed that there was more character development with Cortez than this guy.

Personally, i hated him.
Fair enough, that's cool, but I can imagine that he would be the only peson in the galaxy to call Renegade Shepard 'Lola' and not get a new space blown between his eyes.
Therefore, he is ace.
You can tell him to never do it again. He's resentful, but so far he's kept his trap shut and calls my femshep Commander. "this is not a Democracy."

He was fun, but the forced flirting as FemShep felt a bit weirdish. I know it's all friendly but it's weird. Espeeeecially after "are you ready to be a one turian kind of woman?".

Isn't that a flaw on FemShep trying to jump his bones but never do it?
Probably learned lesson from Jacob.
