What exactly do we want to see in D.A. O. 2?

I.e. you can have 4 potions max and then you need to drink a special "cancel" potion or the 5th potion will kill you. And potions all work "over time", i.e. there is no instant heal potion or some such.
The difference though that you can buy all ingredients for the potions - because quite honestly the Witcher drove me completely crazy with the amount of time necessary to collect ingredients. Thats no fun any more. Rather do it like in DA:O : you have to find the merchant who sells the ingredient without limit.

-Same length or greater main quest. This time we want TWO discs, like Mass Effect 2 lol!
-Continued relationships with companions both romanced and non-romanced. Persistent player characters.
-More monsters, different strategies.
-FIVE companions as opposed to 4. I think 5 would hit the sweet spot for many of us, as it eases the whole necessity to have a healer/tank in the group.
-Mage hoods, robes and staves. Oh god, please do something about it Bioware ! *cringe*
-Less reliance on potions, place a restriction on their use. Willpower is redundant after a while for Mages.
-A Dwarven female romance, it's never been done!

Either allow all recruited party members to accompany you or find something reasonable for them to do while your main group is off saving the world.
It doesn't make any sense to drag them along and then force them to sit at camp all day long because they don't fit your artificially small group due to class composition.
One possible idea how to handle this (assuming in the following release you can't fire/kill everyone) is having a time constraint that requires you to split up your party into two groups, one lead by you and the other by an NPC you designate, and send them to do different things. Send one group to recruit the elves and the other to recruit the dwarfs, for example. And then you'd play their adventures one after the other.
Still, I'd love it more if all your NPCs could come along and the opposition would scale according to your party size. That way you wouldn't miss all that juicy dialogue.

I agree on having a separate group off doing something else. It adds variety to party combinations and combat.

With the exception of KOTOR, all of Bioware's stories are just the same;
* ancient evil rising
* protagonist joins an ancient order of law keepers (Knights of Nine, Wardens etc)
* a good guy gone bad makes the main villain. usually a part of the so mentioned order.
While the execution of the stories is exemplary, its the main premise which is recycled over and over again. I would like a more personal story than a "save the world from darkspawn part IV".
More like Planescape.
II. Full dialogs for the character. It was extremely jarring to use the dialog system here after the sheer brilliance of Mouse Effect. And no it isn't "my story". I'd rather have a VO dialog than not.
III. feedback. my big irritation in the game. no combat feedback. no feedback on what item i received. a log (conversation/combat) log is necessary.
IV. more kill animations. my favorite part of the combat. I would want more varied kill animations for all mob types.
V. killable companions. lets be fair here. i don't mind lugging those sycopanths around with me but I should be able to kll off a few every now and then. in messy fashion. maybe sten.
VI. Better marketing effort. No more new **** or biotic **** trailers. This goes for all future BW games.
VII. fix animation timings for 2handed weapons. nobody like make coffee while the warrior is finishing a single swing.
VIII. lesser but tougher mobs. the diablo approach got old fast.
IX. more enchanted equip. the equipment in the game was mostly stale.
X. no more cone heads. make proper hoodies, cowls etc.
XI. bring in several companions from DAO, even if just as unplayable NPCs. they must have some impact on the story.

And a DAO2 i would like that you can go on with your DA:O character.
This would be an awesome feature!
This would take some initial planning to make it so. I have no idea how complex this would be, but I wholeheartedly support this idea.
Even if DA:O 2 must have more than one DVD to incorporate the excellent suggestions we fans want to see, I would gladly pay more for that experience.

Bioware can take some lessons from the armor types in Hellgate: London. If you've played HG:L you know what I mean. Metal looked like metal, including light reflections, etc.

As per another thread I'd also love them to improve the level scaling enemies use and replace it with encounter scaling if needed, so instead of exactly the same enemies with higher stats you see more or different enemy types at higher levels instead.
I'd also like to see Specializations having more than one Talent Path apiece and some more of them (more of them is pretty likely anyway I reckon).

- Able to continue with the hero you created in Dragon Age: Origins with the old companions and romance.
- Able to have 4 companions with you instead of 3.
- Moar weapons, gear, spells and...well more! More of everything, basically

Well, this was what I heard, I think In ME2 you get to customize the looks of the armor, like edit colors, add emblems....beyond that I don't know.

I want to see much better armor texturing, especially for metal armor. In DA:O they look like hardened leather IMO.

Hmm, that's right! No wonder the steel armors looked not right.

A revamp of the AI in combat. I find it retarded when anything breaks and runs through the vast hordes or past any one in my party to find a vantage point behind the battle. Bringing up my second request : ATTACKS OF OPPERTUNITY.
Now that the map is out with the whole world as it were I want to explore. Being able to go back to Highever would be nice Gwaren, Dragonspeak, Amaranthine. Places we know exist but for modding constraints are not possible at this time. You give the eye candy do not be surprised if people want to go there, unless everything is a cookie cutter version of everything that has been through and done, I guess not.
Deep roads, more Thaigs and more Darkspawn, even Kal Sharok.
