(And it probably does smell of wet dogs.)
Grapihcs can stay the same for all I care. It was never a deciding factor to me. I'd play a new Bioware RPG if it were made with Infinity engine.
A plot that could go anywhere. In this game, you basically know from the start what you'll have to do.
More significant and interesting NPCs. There were tons of those in BG2. One that comes to mind is Saemon Havarian. That guy was a lot of fun.
More interested parties in the plot.
When I heard that the game is going to have a darker tone, comparable to Song of Ice and Fire books, I hoped that it would have more complicated plot than this and more twists.
Then I'd like more surprises. Those of you who played BG2 would probably know what I mean. Going to see the play sounds like fun. Until you end up in an inter dimensional prison. A boat ride should be pretty boring, until you get boarded by tons of Sahuagin and end up in the Underdark where you have to deal with Drow too. Just some examples of what I think is missing in this game compared to BG2.
I'd like more situational humor. Most if it here comes through the interaction with party in camp.
When it comes to character creation, the guys really worked hard. But there are still things that are missing. Nothing significant has changed in hairstyles since NWN2. I like to have a larger choice if possible. There are no really cool ones. I realize this isn't that big of a deal, but it is one of those things that make the game more enjoyable, to me anyway. I wouldn't mind a greater variety of tattoos, and body tattoos too. Maybe even scars and piercings.
I sure would like to see more variety in equipment, both warrior and mage, especially mage. Mage caps are plain ugly. I also don't like it when I kill a bluish dragon and get a reddish armor from his scales. WTF?
One more thing I missed in this game is chanting during spells. They voiced all those dialogues with all those characters. It wouldn't be such a problem to add at least 10 spell chants. Some of you may not like it, but they were an awesome thing in BG2 and NWN. It made all the battles better for me. You know, amidst the heated battle, you hear an enemy mage chanting and you know it can't be good.
And where are the capes?
