The opportunity to start from scratch with at least two characters. I hate it how Morrigan is a shapeshifter and has useless skills. Gah.
What exactly do we want to see in D.A. O. 2?

Allow for multiplayer- have it so 4 friends can sit around lanning, or not, and each create a unique char for them and play the campaign.
6 player parties.
More unique weapons & armor, as well as components to build rare weapons.

be able to transfer over character (if you lived, or if you died somehow you came back to life.)
Online co-op would be nice.
no ending where you can only go back to dlc areas.
more character models (alot of the kids looked the same.)
more weapon and armor models (more weapons really but thats cause I was a warrior.
)
a desert...
Be able to jump (tho dont know what button I would have been able to be...)
For consoles more slots for skills. like make it so R2 switches between like 5 sets of 3 skill slots.
For consoles to be able to download pc mods (look at unreal tournament 3 on ps3. It had mods.
)
But out of all of them the biggest one is! MORE BACKGROUNDS FOR HUMANS. >.< didnt like how I could only be a noble.

Lan/online co-op, of course.
A greater choice of combat talents. As it stands, it seems to be too easy to max out a lot of them. Some ideas: Archery could do with a line of passive talents associated with missing less and maybe an improved critical chance, and 2H weapons could do with talents focussing on doing more damage and/or taking less damage (essentially weapon proficiency / focus skills).
Also, needs more demons

@nemesis,
Morrigan being a shapeshifter ( while cool for background story ) does gimp her, so just use the respec mod ( listed in projects ) and remake her anyway you see fit
I leave her as a shapeshifter, but have no points put into it so that frees up points for other spell choices.

I've bought dragon age very recently or so, and haven't completed the mainquest yet, but am on the verge of doing so. so far 25 hours played, and i still feel a need for more! I'd love some more qunari, and I'd love to know more about morrigan and flemeth. Oh, and the fate of ferelden, royalty-wise
Gameplay wise, maybe some more variation in classes and subclasses, and more armor models!

I would like a random loot system, uniques and rare items for bosses and lesser gear from others.
Basically what made Diablo or Diablo2 gear so popular.
More companions, I know it brings alot of writing though
Participate in an epic battle with allies around, like the battle of Ostagar, maybe be the one who can actually shift the tide of the battle.
Be able to craft our weapons and armor maybe via the weaponsmith or armorsmith.

I would like to see open gameplay after the main quest, but this isn't a sandbox game so that most likely is not going to happen.
@Navy-Spitfire, take a look at the Winters Forge mod in project, you can make ( or remake ) almost any weapon or armor you want exactly as you want it to be.

Be nice to see some actual "decent" worthwhile gear from some of the chests in the game. Basically "as is" except for the extra experience gained from unlocking chest, and disarming traps you could leave your rogue at camp and never worry about missing out on anything as 99% of chest gear is vendor trash...go figure?

More diverse party members, more talents, more armor models (most of the armors are just recolored), a new setting like the Imperium or Orlais, and maybe the main threat could be something from the Fade. That's what I'd like.

Here is hoping that the sequel will be released on the next-gen console so that we may see improvements in the engine that would otherwise be impossible on current tech.
My list is as follows:
1) Greater variety of enemies
2) New armor/weapon designs. When I get a new item I want to feel like xmas day and not expect to see another generic sweater made by grandma. I also don't care how flashy they might be, I'm not playing this game for realism or historical accuracy.
3) Greater variety of weapons. Polearms, spears, flails, etc
4) Smoother combat. No more of this nonsense stop and attack. We should be able to attack on the move and if you really want to balance that out, make it so there is an attack penalty when moving vs standing still.
5) Bigger, more expansive world. I'd like to travel to different areas of the DA:O world versus being restricted to one land (i.e. Ferelden). New environments and atmospheres including everything from different architecture to different habitats.
6) Better character and environment design. It would be amazing if the game would look something similar to how Metal Gear Solid 4 does their cutscenes. Obviously this would be very time consuming and costly but it would be such an amazing improvement.
7) Better rebalancing of abilities and spells

Official playable "Qunari" race for male and female both, this should be availible in the official expansion pack for Dragon Age: Origins availible for PC, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 versions of Dragon Age: Origins meaning to be availible for all video gaming platforms actually.

I just want something different. No more plights of the Men, Elves and Dwarves. I want to see new races, new exotic places. The Qunari and their cannons and slaves. Better graphics. More diversity in equipment. Way more variety in enemies and bosses. A more reactive and vibrant world. A main city that isn't limited to a couple of districts with only one or two mobile NPCs.

I would love the character transfer option! I would also love to have more origin stories and a fully explorable world. Random encounters would be great if they would net some sort of quest items or boss battles. Also, better character creation options like length of hair for women (I would have loved to have the hair that the Lady of The Forest / Witherfang had), more options for tattoos, and more improved makeup (more color options for eyeshadow, blush, and lip color). Mages should be able to enchant the weapons AND armor of their companions (think about it as a minigame to increase approval).
I would also like to have the ability to redeem oneself in the face of a former ally. For example, you kill someone that was at the time considered innocent, but in the long run was going to ruin a lot of things for a lot more people. One of your allies may find this highly objectionable and either leaves or betrays you. You can convince them that your heart was in the right place, but it will be very difficult.
I also think that if your character marries the King or the Queen of whatever nation, the wedding should be seen and the player character should be addressed as such. Also, there should be a playable epilogue once the main quest line is complete that would have more interactivity with the world.
Playable Qunari or Chasind anyone?
More specializations for classes, for example, Warrior gets a Gladiator or Monk specialization, Mage gets Enchanter (adept at illusions and deception, makes enemies easily confused) and Copycat (similar to Shapeshifter but can transform into other people, even other party members), and Rogue gets Arcane Assassin (uses magic and stealth to kill from afar) and Arbiter (a specialization that is highly dependant on Cunning).

They are all clones, they all look alike (sten), therefore females are not needed, and are too great to be played by us mere mortals.

I hate to say it but I want a 100 hours of gameplay dag nab it! These people have jobs most of us can only dream about...so why not go above and beyond the call of duty and go the extra mile? Now granted 20-40 of it can just be random wilderness areas like it was in bg1 with minor storys and quests...I think that would be cool...oh and griffons!

Every part a little bit more complex (perhaps day and night cycle, for one), with some minor cuts of redundancy (too much fighting, running back and forth?), and some new innovative elements that make sense. I have not much to say abut specifics, however. But I don't expect such a fast announcement like Mass Effect 2. The secret project probably gets revealed first.
And apart from that most of the developers probably can't see anymore Dragon Age, they might know best how to make it feel fresher and improved.

Personally, I would also love to see more "big battles" where it's not just "you have to win" or don't show and then lose, like redcliff, but rather like, If you don't recruit enuogh people, before the blight attacks (insert town here) then that town may be damaged, decreasing the economical flow of things, or outright ruining the town. You could hire mercenaries to help, or try and use your combat knowledge if you're a warrior to help train the citizens, or if you're a rogue, go plant some traps around, or if you're a mage open a portal to the fade, or summon a bunch of monsters, or ask the circle, ect. Also, some kind of elaborate option to control groups of the people helping the town in some sort of Bird's eye view of the battle (on consoles).
You know, make the battles more tactical, and maybe if you have combat tactics skills, you could use those to help the fight even more, maybe that is what could allow your birds eye view thing.
anyone have any opinions on this?
