More balanced selection of party NPCs - dont give us 2 Mages, 2 Rogues, but a freaking 6 different Warriors again.
Allow to disable all party AI with one click.
These.

I don't care much about what to be found in DA2,but after rewatching the sacred ashes trailer i only want this:Let DA2 look like that trailer...I know DA:O was in development for almost 5 years and that trailers always look better then ingame stuff, but the graphics were a bit of a dissapointment, compared to said trailer

While in camp, there should be a randomized sequence in which party members are speaking to each other (even silently), petting the dog, roaming around as if in deep thought or frustration, eating and drinking, laying down, tending to wounds, etc., as if in a real-life camp. Perhaps once in a while a party member will beckon to the main char and thus, in engaging in that conversation, a new quest will be revealed that is important to that party member (maybe even taking the party to a new land or the party member's homeland).
An expanded party (4, 5, or 6 slots could be populated).
More fantasy elements (quests involving griffons, a unicorn, a group of frightened pixies, etc) along with more types of darkspawn to fight.
As the game progresses, the main char's leadership and respect should be more prominent (it isn't bad now, but could be polished).
More life moving about (forest creatures, different birds and butterflies flitting about, towns folk, an NPC with a quest request actually waving and running up to the main char, etc).
Take a lesson from the Diablo series and make a slew of interesting items. If a chest is locked, then it should have better loot (why even bother with a chest if it doesn't?!).
More adult themes for an adult game!
More tattoo themes with separate sliders for forehead, nose, cheeks, jaw, and chin each with its color and intensity selectors.
More hair and beard styles, including longer.
More surprises in the game along the line of making you sit back and think, "Wow, I didn't expect that!"
A more open environmental theme with less linear scripting.
More of everything. I for one would gladly pay a little extra for a superior RPG that required two or more DVDs.
DA:O is an awesome game; however, its fans are demanding more in the near future. Could Bioware receive any higher compliment of a job well done, because we want more of good thing?
!

Even though I haven't finished the game yet, I've been pleasantly surprised at some of the twists involving NPCs and their reactions to the main char once back in camp. More, more, more of these reactions would be positively keen.

Great suggestions, everyone!

more slow motion death kills! The first time I jumped up on the death spawn and stuck my ax in his neck I was like "I am the god of war!"

if going DA:O2 though involve it in the D&D universe instead, would grant way more lore to the game as in shown for DAO now it really lacks lore for good.
GHL_Soul_Reaver wrote...
People say there is alot of lore to explore, but as it is now it is merely a LOTR copy in some ways, people playing the game probably have noticed that.

Add multiplayer, else the game would ruin itself

Lose the pause feature.
Lose the tactics and write some intelligence for the companions.
Do something with the battle system, it's painfully boring as it is. Lets me swing with my sword block with my shield, kinda like Oblivion I guess.
And lose EA. (Can't be helped I know)
No. No multiplayer. I want a good single player game, not a mediocre single player game and a disappointing multiplayer game. If you want multiplayer, go play WoW or any of the dozens of other multiplayer games. Hell, play tOR when it comes out. Some kind of mulitplayer w/o a monthly fee.
