Huh...I had no problem with the trailer not matching myself. Sure, you got a slight different vib from it than in the game, but hey, it was an early hype trailer that was close enough, and I was happy with the in game results anyway.

Even though I haven't finished the game yet, I've been pleasantly surprised at some of the twists involving NPCs and their reactions to the main char once back in camp. More, more, more of these reactions would be positively keen.

While in camp, there should be a randomized sequence in which party members are speaking to each other (even silently), petting the dog, roaming around as if in deep thought or frustration, eating and drinking, laying down, tending to wounds, etc., as if in a real-life camp. Perhaps once in a while a party member will beckon to the main char and thus, in engaging in that conversation, a new quest will be revealed that is important to that party member (maybe even taking the party to a new land or the party member's homeland).

An expanded party (4, 5, or 6 slots could be populated).

More fantasy elements (quests involving griffons, a unicorn, a group of frightened pixies, etc) along with more types of darkspawn to fight.

As the game progresses, the main char's leadership and respect should be more prominent (it isn't bad now, but could be polished).

More life moving about (forest creatures, different birds and butterflies flitting about, towns folk, an NPC with a quest request actually waving and running up to the main char, etc).

Take a lesson from the Diablo series and make a slew of interesting items. If a chest is locked, then it should have better loot (why even bother with a chest if it doesn't?!).

More adult themes for an adult game!

More tattoo themes with separate sliders for forehead, nose, cheeks, jaw, and chin each with its color and intensity selectors.

More hair and beard styles, including longer.

More surprises in the game along the line of making you sit back and think, "Wow, I didn't expect that!"

A more open environmental theme with less linear scripting.

More of everything. I for one would gladly pay a little extra for a superior RPG that required two or more DVDs.

DA:O is an awesome game; however, its fans are demanding more in the near future. Could Bioware receive any higher compliment of a job well done, because we want more of good thing?

Great suggestions, everyone!

Great ideas!

I would also like to have the ability to change your appearance in-game somehow. It sucks to play with a character you are not 100% happy with. I hate to start a game, only to later see that the nose is actually alot bigger than it looked in the character creation and it's gonna be like that for the rest of the game.

One handed skills (dualing for REALS!!), some chantry-esque class (Cleric, priest, monk) and maybe some subraces of what are already in the game when it comes to the monsters and races...

Could be awesome, could be not. I want to see that happen. :P

I like most of these suggestions, but...

-"Take a lesson from the Diablo series and make a slew of interesting items. If a chest is locked, then it should have better loot (why even bother with a chest if it doesn't?!)"

I've never played this game seriously so I don't know what this is supposed to mean, but I would like for once an RPG warrior suddenly that he could use his sword to just pry the planks off of wood chest probably even faster than a rouge could pick the lock.

-More adult themes for an adult game!

You got blood, gore, cannibalism, beer, prostitution, every type of sex two or more could have, hints at rape, murder/crime on all levels, racism, religion, political junk and suicide. What else could you possibly want to see that won't directly throw everyone at Bioware in jail?

-open environment

Won't happen. Too much time and money would be placed into creating something that would ultimately take away from the game's main focus.

Ferrets...!

And I'll add my vote for a slightly larger party. Even five in the party would do, if only for the banter.

Would love to see origin specific companions, all different classes unique to said origin.

Also more classes, would help my first suggestion.

Item ranks, common/uncommon/rare/omgwtfbbq.

More variety of weapon models.

Different color choices for the dog as well as choosing its gender.

Less ugly helmets and bandit type masks for rouges.

After finishing the main story quest let me go back and do the side quests.

Have a place where I can go fight infinite darkspawn for xp and darkspawn weapons like in the deeproads somewhere and they come in waves each being harder than the previous.

Stamina drinks.

there is more but I can't think of'em right now :P

you are in luck!  Im not sure if someone has already responded to you, but there is a mod out now that makes "slow motion deaths" or "fatalities" more frequent.  Im using it now and it certainly adds to game immersion and overall fun.

Dragon Age is my #1 favorite game and I do look forward to anything related to DAO in the future.

here are my suggestions:

1) a slightly more open environtment & less linear play

2) at least 1 more character in the party - 5 or 6 would be perfect

3) greater variety & more monsters / bad guys

4) more & larger towns and cities - Im surprised Gwaren was left out of the game

5) overall more content: special items to collect, armor & weapons, more things to quest for...

6) although im not dissapointed in the least by the lack of multuplayer, I do think by having at least one more player to quest and share the experience with could only better the game

what do you guys think of my suggestions?

if going DA:O2 though involve it in the D&D universe instead, would grant way more lore to the game as in shown for DAO now it really lacks lore for good.

No.  Please no.

I don't want D&D.  D&D was not made for computer games.  I liked Baldur's Gate despite its D&D background.  I want a game backed with its own lore.  I know this might make me unpopular, but I find D&D's patchwork lore to be detailed but without any strong sense of coherence.  Almost as if its been built up by a dozen different authors over 30 years, each with their own ideas about what is cool.  Frankly, I'm a bit bored with D&D.  If Bioware made another D&D game, I'd probably end up buying it, but not for the lore.

...and I know that David Gaider is not at all interested in making another D&D game.

GHL_Soul_Reaver wrote...

People say there is alot of lore to explore, but as it is now it is merely a LOTR copy in some ways, people playing the game probably have noticed that.

No.  I didn't.

In what way is this even close to LoTR?  That there are humans, elves and dwarves?  Wow.  That's... not even close to a good argument.  You could say the same thing about D&D.  The religion is totally different.  The culture of humans is totally different.  The culture of elves is so different that even suggesting a similarity tells me that you haven't even seen the LoTR movies.  The culture of dwarves is radically different.  The plot isn't even close to similar. The "enemies" are radically different.  I struggle to find a single theme that is similar between the two.

In order to get that level of not-similarity, I'd have to guess that the writers actually spent quite a bit of effort making sure they weren't copying themes from LoTR.

GHL_Soul_Reaver wrote...

Add multiplayer, else the game would ruin itself

No.  Please no.

I don't want multiplayer either.  For all those people out there who just don't understand: multiplayer always comes at a cost.  You can't have great single player and multiplayer.  You always drop some content for multiplayer.  You always lose some control.  You always sacrifice either primary or secondary player enjoyment.  I don't want PvP.  I don't want to see other players in game.  I don't want to chat.  I don't want an MMORPG.

In the end, it seems clear that you and I want separate games.  However, there are lots of MMORPGs and multiplayer games out there for you.  There are very few good single player games.

Lose the pause feature.

Don't lose the pause feature.  I don't want an FPS.  I want a tactical RPG.

Lose the tactics and write some intelligence for the companions.

The tactics make the game better. It's not easy to make good game AIs.  It's not even hard.  It's really really hard.  I'd rather have a system where I can customize my companions' AI than be stuck with a mediocre AI.

Do something with the battle system, it's painfully boring as it is. Lets me swing with my sword block with my shield, kinda like Oblivion I guess.

Its a tactical RPG.  I'm all for showing some more varied graphics but I do not want to have to have to select just how my character is going to swing their sword or press three buttons in some bizarre sequence to do a special attack.  If I have a special attack, I want to use it by telling my character to do their special attack.

And lose EA. (Can't be helped I know)

Why even say this?  Bioware is EA, just one of the best parts. It's like asking Windows to ditch Microsoft.  (not that I'm implying that Windows is the best part of Microsoft, just supplying an analogy most people have a chance to understand).

Some kind of mulitplayer w/o a monthly fee.

No.  No multiplayer.  I want a good single player game, not a mediocre single player game and a disappointing multiplayer game.  If you want multiplayer, go play WoW or any of the dozens of other multiplayer games.  Hell, play tOR when it comes out.

The Mage's movement when it comes to combat like shooting with staff and channeling a spell seems kinda boring/ugly, anyone agree?

would be awesome to see the Baldur's Gate spellcasting style again.

This is more of a "problems I have with DA:O", but since I'm playing it on the 360, the chances of these being patched and me getting the patch are nonexistant.

- Main character dialogue:
Not only do I wish the characters were fully voiced ala Mass Effect, but how the in-game voices are used should be fixed a bit as well. My two problems are, one character I made with the violent voice and she complains every time I ask her to open a chest, suggesting she should "get a ladder" so I can "get off her back." The second problem came when I chose an experienced character (I think), and before she even left the circle she would start fights proclaiming "Warden senses... tingling." I didn't know mages could see the future :P
- Hats that don't look silly:
Or at least the option to toggle them off ala WoW. I know they don't show up in dialogue, but man half of them are ridiculous.
- Ability to compare newly found items with your main weapon set and alternative weapon set.
- Cunning and the [Persuade]/[Intimidate] options should do way more. Hell, throw in some [Charm] and [Torture] options maybe. There just needs to be more social combat!

EDIT: One last important thing: PLEASE INCLUDE A ZOOM OUT FUNCTION! I know the PC users have it, why not the console users? It could be the right-stick. No one uses the auto-centering anyway. Or, the left-stick, which is completely free.

More hotbars.

Manually sortable inventory.

An on-screen pause button I can trigger with the mouse.

Better documentation.

More travelling between areas rather than just arriving there. The Deep Roads work well in that respect.

Otherwise, DAO is great. Change nothing else.

Zoom out function would be great.

allow at least five party members.

better armor for mages.

It would be cool if DA2 could be more of a prequel, such as maybe playing the Grey Wardens origin story. It would also be cool if maybe in the next game you could travel to some of the countries that you can't in DAO. It could be a parallel story to DAO and you could run in to some of the main characters from DAO.

1*Improved Combat Mechanics: Make combat more believable; drop this 'Miss' rubbish (we can do better don't you think Bioware?); stop relying on the D&D ruleset so heavily!

2*Improved Tactics: ability to hold individual characters; add accumulating tactics (stamina <25% and health >50%).

3*Improved Character Customisation: I didnt enjoy the fact that there were only 5 eye sets; add eye rotation; more hair styles; ability to change forehead size.
