What exactly do we want to see in D.A. O. 2?

The story is so good! Why do they soil it with such broken gameplay! 8(

Either in the sequel or expansion, I would like to see some sort of unarmed combat. Be it monk or whatever.

There are a few key features that should be improved;
1- a stronghold, amassing an army and a reputation without a base that grows or has any purpose is something that bothered me a lot in Dragon Age. I never really felt that I was amassing an army. Yes some troops gather in Redcliffe but thats pretty low end considering what BG2 was capable of. Yes I know I just made the BG 2 comparison I'm sorry.
2- 5 party members at a time not just 4, why? more versatility and less need to constantly shuffle and return to completely cleared areas with Leliana if I chose not to bring her. I like being able to shuffle my party and get use out of them all not just a small favoured few.
3-less locked chests this gets ridiculous after awhile how many there are and how none of them have anything good. Make far fewer of them but put some decent stuff in there every odd while.
4-better armor for all but especially medium and light and beyond all mage gear. I was incredibly dissapointed with how drab the mage gear was, robes are easy to make look amazing. Maybe not in a graphical sense but in the concept level it is astoundingly easy to design a half decent mage robe. I want to see robes with capes, shoulder armor, patterning, layers, anything beyond the bare minimum mage designs in game now. I enjoy playing a mage on my second run through but my mage already looks exactly as she will for the rest of the game.
5-being able to make an elf with long hair and still be able to see the ears..... I mean really every NPC elf looks right whats with me?
6- More active real feeling towns, The Witcher did a fairly decent job with this, the towns felt real without having Oblivions surreal everyone stands around having the same looped conversation twilight zone.
7- a side quest where I can destroy a thinly veiled reference to the cast of the Twilight novel series, seriously I want to kill them and I think Bioware are the ones who will make that dream come true.

I totally agree. That would be so cool.
Your char can already punch without a weapon equipped, and there are already in-game animations of chars performing unique attack moves based on acquired skills, party members get knocked down and stand back up, so why not expand such movements for a monk-type char? Instead of setting traps, the monk-type could throw enhanced death stars, etc, and use equipped one or two-handed weapons unique to that char. The char could even break things open with her/his bare hands. There could even be a new religious theme based on the monk-type's mysterious ways.
Do you realize how many more people will be attracted to DA:O2 if that char were incorporated?! It would be a feeding frenzy, especially if done right!
This could be very interesting indeed!
Bioware, are you listening?

2. Side quests with more involved gameplay and narrative. Both The Witcher and the TES series excel at this. I don't recommend that Bioware try to be CDPR or Bethesda, but a little more finesse with the side quests would be appreciated.

I can see it now, Dragon Age 2 : Orgy-ins
See the women of the chantry engage in hot girl on girl action during the fertility rituals of the Ferelden equinox.

- If the party members will approve/disapprove of my actions/decisions, they should do so on a constant, regular basis, not sporadically or arbitrarily. Moreover, how much they approve/disapprove of what I choose to do should sometimes depend on how much they like or dislike me. You know, if you really like somebody, when s/he does something you do not like, you might still cut him/her some slack and go easy on him/her. Or if you dislike somebody intensely, you might disagree with things s/he does simply out of spite even though you normally would have agreed.
- I like the current Tactics feature despite its shortcomings. In addition to a bit more thorough version of that, the ability to write our own complex companion AI scripts (On all platforms, not just PC) would appeal very much to my inner geek.
- I don't know about more armor designs, but I would greatly appreciate race-specific armor. In other words, armors which only one race can equip and others can't because they have been designed specifically for one race's body type and stature. Today, for example, seeing my female dwarf warrior in Warden Commander's Armor, I couldn't decide whether I wanted to laugh my rear end off or cry my eyes out. It gave the word "tragicomical" a whole new meaning.
- The companions should do more than just fight enemies and pick on each other when idle. If I'm a mage with measly 12-13 strength but have the 7-foot, 50+ strong Sten in massive armor with a biga** qunari sword and a spiked diamond maul strapped on his back with me, I (we) should be able to make pretty much any sane person weep and squeal when I attempt to intimidate him/her. Similarly, a very cunning Leliana/Zevran should be capable of sweet talking most anybody into doing exactly what I want done. Teamwork, you know.
- Invisible walls be gone! I don't expect a sandbox game but it'd be nice if I could explore the entire area, say, around Lothering or the Brecillian Forest.
- Party chest/storage at the party camp please. Now I can't really say I have ever felt "immersed" in a video game. Honestly, I don't even know what it might mean but I like the buzzword so I'll use it to make my point; it's "immersion breaking". No, seriously! Our friendly merchants Bodahn and Sandal could haul it for us in their cart, right?
- Loot's not good enough, I'm afraid. I start fighing a nasty, mean boss, have my a** handed over to me several times in a row until I figure out a way to take it down...and it drops a couple of mid-level health potions, a spirit shard, and 20 silvers. Well, thank you very much!! That's what I call satisfaction after a long and hard day's work. Merchants are another story. I'm on my 3rd playthrough and I have to say, with a good deal of embarrassment, that I've been lusting after that Veshaille (sp?) Bodahn is selling as well as a ring which IIRC can be bought from "Wonders of Thedas" in Denerim, but the da** things cost 130 gold and 75 gold respectively, when my "Most money had" record is only around 150. Frustrating, to say the least.
- I'd rather have one long, intricate, satisfying main quest than a relatively short main quest and a collection of pointless and boring side quests. One long, intricate, satisfying main quest and a collection of long, intricate, satisfying side quests would be even better.

Perhaps there should be no approval system at all, just like in BG2. It certainly felt more organic.

I would rather see some amazing expansion like Shivering isles from Oblivion.
And a DAO2 i would like that you can go on with your DA:O character. And that have effect on part 2.
Like DAO2 is a whole big expansion game. And i would like to see that the lvl cap is going higher.
More specalizations, classes and what I miss is that you can make alot choices what's really great but it actually don't have that much effect on the game.
(SPOILER ALERT)
I mean in the beginning you have the choice to kill the son of Arl Eamon orthe demon or the mother.
But i choice dto sacrifes the mother and then maked a deal with the demon that he would go later in his body.
And what i get as effect. When i Finished the game : The boy went to Circle Of Mage . and disapeared later.
That's what i get. I would like to see that is has REALLY effect on the game. That I get him later as opponent or something.
I really enjoyed the game. But what was a pain in the ass that when i finished it. I could only do DLC anymore. And not explore and do questing in Denerim or go to the pearl to sleep with leliane. or whatever.

It takes years to make a game. Many DLC's can come out untill then.
As for your ideas, I completely agree!

I can only assume you talk about the Sacred Ashes movie, because most movies of Dragon Age use the real game graphics and dont look better as the game itself.Acemath wrote...
