lol i hope they make a prequel game of mass effect but in the past, how the reaper were created

Ooooo maybe we can have a story back in the Prothean Empire!

What about going all the way back to the first cycle and fighting to try and stop the Reapers from ever being created.  It is a losing effort of course but it could still be awesome!

I would like there to be more games, with different protagonist but in the same universes settings.

It better! I know I say this all the time but.. I want my Turian main character!

It would be great if they set it up like DA:O and let you pick what species, gender, race, and so on.  Bioware please make this an option.

Exactly. The Origin system in DA:O was great, they need to bring that back.

MMO is something to fear,  However so many companies keep trying them.   That said.. Tali as a quest giver... why not.

Well I don't know how they can carry on with ME.

ME4: Return Of Shepard
This would be with Shepard in control of the reapers.
ME4:The Rebuilding
This is choice of destroy all tech.
ME4:A New Way Forward
This is the last choice, to me would be like IROBOT world. Just wouldn't work.

When thinking how it ended there would be no way forward. Unless they(BW) skip 1000 or so years into future. I just feel like they(BW) meant to end Shepard's story arc, but instead killed any hope of seeing a new ME game.

lol imagine that we start from x planet x race similar to human ( for human fanboys )  and there is a war and a x enemy or race have something to do with things in the galaxy and in the end of the game we know that they start building the reapers with another name of course xd and we know that they are actually reaper at the end of the game or something like that ( sorry for my english ) xd  it will be cool a prequel or a x game and we know in the end that is just a prequel

Now, we all know that Mass Effect 3 is the last game in the Mass Effect Trilogy, ending the Commander Shepards story once and for all.

But that has leaved me thinking: will there be more Mass Effect games in the future?  Naturally not games with Shepard as main character, but other games setted in the Mass Effect Universe.

So, what do you think? Will there be more Mass Effect games, and if the answer is yes, which?

My guesses:
- Strategy Game, story spanding over all three games, ending with the fight for Earth. classic Cammand and Conquer-style.
- MMO, less likely, but the universe could easily support a Mass Effect MMORPG.
- TPS, like the three original games, but with other persons as main characters (Jacob Taylor, for example, has been used in Mass Effect Galaxy)

LOLOLOLOLOL @ Will the Mass Effect series continue?    Ummmmm, does money still spend?  LOLOLOLOLOL

Oh I have no doubt that they'll try. I think they'll find that their cash cow is now hamburger. Many die-hard fans have already been too betrayed to continue with it. Many more will be disappointed by the ending DLC. If it's bad, that number grows. So their sales won't be nearly as good for whatever future ME projects they do. Depending on just how bad public reaction to the DLC is, it either ends here, or there could be one more, but that's it. Personally, I don't think BioWare has much life left in them, let alone ME. This DLC could be their make or break moment. If not, DA3 certainly will be.

Well if they want to continue the story in the same grim/dark place, set the story on Earth. Most everyone is dead, everyone left is starving...and looking like rejects from Mad Max. :)

I keep hearing this "starving" idea. Why would they be starving?

And if people want a PC of any race, it's doable. Fortunately , a fairly large population of everybody is in in Sol system at the end of ME3. I think Bio'd probably stick with a human PC, but the ME3 ending doesn't stop them from using an alien PC if they want to.

It can continue all it wants, but without me. I really have no need to be pissed off at the end of the next game just because someone can not write a good ending and all he can do is to yell "artistic integrity".

Future games set after the third game may save the series and explain how the ending is not as bad as some of us think (me included). Anything before is not going to work as well with the endings making it seem pointless.

I wouldn't mind another Mass Effect, however It would be very hard. It one of those things where you can't really get it to be as good as the original. But yeah, there is always a new evil around the corner. They could think of something.

I hate strategy games so I wouldn't be picking up the RTS ME if they decided to go that route.

I like MMOs but hate money grubbing subscription fees and refuse to pay them (yeah yeah, throw in the "server" logic all you want, but if games like Guild Wars can go subscription free, so can all the others;  FFXIV flopping and going sub-free is an example), so it would have to be REALLY REALLY good to the point where I would have to have it (and not be a grind fest or a premium fest) for me to even consider playing.

I'm expecting the final guess of the OP.  Except the new protagonist isn't someone we know, but a new protagonist that we can create from scratch similar to how we did Shepard.

I could imagine, the First Contact war maybe? I pretty much imagine players would hate having to be separated from a human character.

I hope they wont make more, as it is right now I don't believe that they would be able to make good games.

I'm sure there will be more; the more interesting question is how will they go about doing that.

For example say the next game doesn't show up until PS4 and Xbox720; can I move my saved files? If I can't that means they 2 options (that I can think of atm): Either they have to set a canon as to what happened in the ME universe's larger events (geth/quarians living or dying, krogans being cured or not, etc). Or they have to wipe the slate clean and start from the ground up.

Without our saves it'll look really strange to people who have played these games to have an mmo or another tps arrive, and those who killed/saved off species in their playthroughs find them intact/missing. It's going to be interesting to see how they continue with the franchise outside of prequels.

I read an article that mentions to KEEP your save files...indicator that more ME stuff is in the works

Before release for ME3 I would have said YES definatley. But now with all the hate and the stupid / crap endings I feel things are at a cross roads.

E.G. If a movie comes out and is a big success, straight away the suits are saying ok lets make a follow up or 3. If that film gets bad reviews etc then its a more Mmmm lets wait and see what total sales are + DVD sales before committting to next movie

There will be more, that's for sure. I just hope it won't be a prequel.

I'm with you on this... I want the Relays to be rebuilt (or whatever's happening with extended cut).. and a NEW THREAT to emerge - with humans involved.. as part of the magic of Mass Effect is feeling pride in the human civilisation and what it's achieved etc (for me anyways).
