I was quite sure there is already a thread about this, but I didn't find anything. Wouldn't mind if anyone points me to it instead of giving an answer here .

So, which persons did you choose during the course of the game? Or didn't you even choose one? What was your opinion about them in the end? Did anything special happen because of your decisions? (I'm especially curious if there's anything happening when you don't romance anyone).

As for me, I wasn't romancing anyone in ME1 and started with Tali in ME2, stayed with her in ME3. I have to say I was quite disappointed with that. I was expecting a romance to add more depth to the relationship, instead everything I got that I wouldn't get otherwise were suggestive comments. It just felt childish to me. However, there was a moment were that love interest literally died for me: On some point of ME3, Tali explains why she loves Shepard.  Not a single line of that was about the kind of person he is. It was because of his actions and influence, because he's a hero, someone to look up to. I guess most people liked that comment, but I was just like "So that's all there is about it, huh? What a disappointment.". It also seemed to me like she was even less of an individuum than Legion. Everything she says and does is about Quarians. Definitely not a romance I'll repeat. Plus I'll do Garrus a favor with that.
Sorry to sting into the big Tali camp here .

As for special scenes there was one situation during the Quarian arc: I was taking Garrus and Tali with me on the Geth ship, on some point Shepard and Tali started flirting when Garrus said "Uh...I was there when you two had your thing, remember? Just get a room and work it out". Poor guy .

On my first "finished" playthrough

I romanced no one in ME1 because I messed up on Liara.
Then in Mass effect 2 I romanced Jacob and Garrus and then in Mass effect 3 I romanced Liara.

I ended up falling out with Ash because her constant second guessing of me got on my nerves. I couldn't shoot her in the Udina mission though.

I hated the distance ('hate' isn't really the right word because I know she was off doing her own thing and she wanted to do it alone) that was placed between Shepard and Miranda in ME3. I was dying to help her in whatever she was doing but was only given the chance to when the crap hit the fan at Sanctuary.

But yeah, I liked that Miranda was a character you had to work at to break through her cold and hard first impression; unlike others you see her change over the course of the games, and I liked that evolution.

The shadowbroker DLC is great but it's alot better if you romanced liara in the 1st game.

The first time I ever played Mass Effect I romanced Ashley. But then I decided I would rather go through ME1 WITHOUT a love interest, so really...

the way I see it, my shepard was cold and serious in ME1. He didnt have room for romance, but then he saw how Tali grew up lol and it softened him up a bit.

Fem Shep: Kaidan.. died on Virmyre, second Jacob... can't force myself to play 3, but prolly will go lezbian when she learns that Jacob cheated and go take a shower with Traynor.
Second fem Shep: Kaidan 1, Garrus 2... will have a triangle decision making in 3.

Well, I've beaten ME1 eight times and ME2 ten, so I've done different ones, but the one I consider canon (male paragon) goes as follows:

ME1: Liara (come to think of it, I've never romanced anyone else in ME1)
ME2: No one (couldn't justify cheating on her, wouldn't be very paragon(y) after all)
LotSB: Liara
ME3: Liara

Dae didn't romance anyone in ME1 -- I successfully managed to avoid the Kaidan ninjamance. Thank God. From then on, it was smooth sailing on the Shepard/Garrus ship for the remainder of the game. :3

For FemShep it was Liara all the way through. My renegade Male Shep didn't romance anyone in the first game, but picked up Jack in the second one. I was actually trying to role play the character and was surprised at that choice.
