I actually grew to like DA:2 despite the reused maps and environments. The gameplay is fun and I love my brother Carver a lot (I thought he was one of the better characters in the game). Once you get over the fact that it's not a sequel to Origins, it's pretty good actually.

ME 3 just shocked and depressed me. I think it was made worse by the fact that the game had been really well written up to the finale. I was not expecting what I got at the end.

Mass Effect 3 - "Man, this is the the best thing I've ever played.... wait... what the hell just happened?"
Dragon Age 2 - "Oh I love you you angry elf... wait, man there are a lot of enemies, and haven't I seen this dungeon already?"

I kinda enjoyed DA2 despite all it's flaws. At least its ending fit more in quite the crapsack world of DA2 (and I always saw Hawke more as a unfortunate person in the unfortunate circumstances, not some kind of badass hero, so I was ok with her unability to influence anything. She basically managed to *** up everything lol)

ME3 is a great game overall, but the ending tainted the whole experience of the trilogy for me. So I guess, it disappointed me more. Probably because my expectations for it were higher and I've been more attached to ME3 universe.

*sigh* What an amazing game it could be.

I quite liked DA2. ME3 was a bigger letdown because it was so good up until the end, DA2 at least was consistent.

DA2 by far. My expectations were extremely high and that's a testament to how amazing DA:O was. I expected DA2 to retain a lot of the RPG elements, but was sorely disappointed when they dumbed down and streamlined a lot of stuff, Mass Effect-style.

ME3. I can still play DAO and its DLC's, I cannot say the same of ME1 and 2, let alone 3 unfortunately.

I would say ME3 purely because of the end.

ME3 was great until that ending. Weeks after the fact I still can't work out how they managed to wreck probably one the best game franchises in years in just 10 minutes. I really want to play ME3 through again but I get so far and then thoughts of that ending and the huge plot holes just drains all my enthusiasm out of my very soul.

DA2 wasn't a terrible game, I would say more a average game. It was obviously rushed and the story was not to DA1 standards but it still had a re-playable experience value, I laughed however when I saw IGN gave it an 8.5.

Liked DA2, and the endings in DA2 made sense. So ME3 by a mile.

ME3 was a larger, and more subtler letdown, in a way that I realized how unsatisfied I was at the grand end to the trilogy days after having finished it.

ME3 was a larger letdown than DA2 because of the scripted background conversations in place of ALL full dialog side missions/quests.

You are right about that, especially the scripted "zaaed"-style conversations really annoyed me (and I won't talk about the ending here ...).

But still, DA2 was the bigger letdown for me - I even hated that Hawke-person.

I don't let the last 5 minutes of a game ruin the entire experience I had with it.

And the entire experience was amazing.

DAII on the other hand, well, I played the demo and knew to stay away from that steamer.

I didn't like what they decided to do with Anders in DA2, but my disappointment was mostly the change in gameplay. I hated the arcade popping ninjas, and the lack of tactical combat. Couldn't sneak up on enemies and lay lures and traps like in DAO, even as a thief! I was interested in the story, and it was the only reason I put up with the terrible game mechanics. The dungeon map reuse was insulting. How long has Bioware been making RPGs? Unforgivable.

I thought the gameplay in ME3 was great. It was like ME2, but with a few tweaks to tighten it up. I liked it. Except the war asset implementation. Kind of like the dungeon map reuse. The ending was a whole new type of disappointment.

Which was the bigger disappointment? That is hard for me to say. They both dampered my enthusiasm for continuations of the stories.

I think DA2 was a worse game as a whole.
ME3 is a bigger let down for me because I cared much more about it. Bar a few things, I think it's the best ME game so far (mechanically speaking), has brilliant moments in it, and is then taken in an insane direction by the final scenes.

Mass Effect 3. I had low expectations for Dragon Age 2, as I hated the first game.

DA2 was more broken. There were serious gameplay problems right out of the box and some of the boss fights were broken for certain classes (the 10 minutes running in circles to kill the boss at the end of Act II was the exact opposite of fun.) The ending was also horrible, for essentially the exact same reasons as ME3 - all of your previous decisions didn't mean a damn thing. OTOH, I think the NPCs were overall better written.

ME3. I considered ME2 to be one of the best games I have ever played, easily in my all-time top three - then to discover the appalling treatment ME3 gave to your ME2 squadmates, the terrible endings, and the unforgivable bias towards Liara - well, for me, It was far more of a disappointment than DA2.

Rather like KOTOR2, ME3 could easily have been a great game, but both are great concepts fatally flawed in execution.

It's strange. There was just so much wrong with DA2 from top to bottom, but I care more about how ME3 threw everything away (seemingly) in the last ten minutes or so.

DA2. ME3 was a great game, it was just the ending that was bad. DA2 was just tooth grinding mediocrity all the way through.

^ This. While ME3 was awesome till the final 10 minutes, DA2 was bland all the ~n hours it took to complete it.

But if they fix the ending, ME3 will become a great game. If they want too make DA2 great they'll have to redo the whole game nearly from scratch -_-

Mass Effect 3 for sure. They took what fans complained about with Dragon Age 2 and just threw the same stuff in Mass Effect 3.

Mass Effect 3 without the ending is the best game I have ever played. Dragon Age 2 would have been only ok if I hadn't played Dragon Age Origins and gotten so attached to the characters and lore. The only bad thing about ME3 was the ending and there is no reason people should say the whole game was bad or a let down.

The whole of DA2 felt rushed, using the same enviroments over and over etc. ME3 at least had a lot of quality work done in the game such as curing the genophage. There was some cut corners in ME3 and I think the ending was like the DA2 game itself rushed out.

ME3. Even with the obvious rush job on Dragon Age II and the irrelevancy of choices to the nth degree, Dragon Age can still redeem itself. Mass Effect 3 was a game with heightened expectations that not only were not met, but completely down sized as well.

DA2 was a bigger letdown for me. Not as much freedom as Origins, and not as many varied areas to travel to, not as many varied companions, and not as much individuality with your character.

ME3 had a bad journal system and a bad ending, but otherwise was outstanding for me.
