The ending of mass effect 3 made DA2 look like kotor 1

Dragon age 2 was just one big letdown, but the letdown didn't reach the extreme height of the ME 3 letdown, so that'll be the last.

That totally made sense....

ME3 is the biggest letdown ever. DA2 was so-so throughout, so there is no feelings of betrayal. ME3 however, made me feel betrayed to build up my passion that high and tear it down in minutes.

ME3's ending is WAY worse than anything that was wrong with DA2.

I actually enjoy DA2 a lot.

ME3 was an exponentially larger letdown for me. I think I actually started ugly crying in disappointment when I finished it. I know I'm in the minority on this, but I actually really loved DA2... I almost prefer it to Origins tbh.

ME3. I liked DA2. Not as much as I liked Origins, but it was a decent enough game.

To me, DA2 was worse. The endings of both seemed like hero ruins/makes worse the state of everyone else. So in that sense, the tone of the endings were similar, though in a way DA2 had a more fulfilling ending because you at least know that Varrik will be just fine. DA2 I felt like I was banging my head against a brick wall the whole game. Even modding it to the point of silliness didn't help that much.

Now I feel like the formula is endings = Jenga! Dark (jazz hands).

DA2 pretty much sucked entirely and in ME3 only last ten minutes sucked. But somehow the ME3 ending feels ten times worse then entire DA2 thing.

I liked both games, but they both have problems, and they both suffer from bad endings. I mean, the Orsino thing if you're a mage-supporter doesn't make a whole lot of sense. But the ME3 ending was just a series of "hay gaiz, wouldn't it be cool if we did this" with no real coherence, through-line, or emotional resonance. I wept buckets when Mordin and Legion died, and during many of the character moments with the squadmates and LIs. I had my trusty box of Kleenex ready and primed for the ending, and...wah-wah. My reaction was more like "huh, well, that happened."

DA2 didn't crush my soul and cause a few restless nights like ME3 did, so yeah, ME3 was definitely worse.

I'm actually bidding on DAO right now because I do want to play another Bioware RPG series now that ME3 is over for the time being. I have heard very bad things about DA2 though. I'll buy it if I enjoy DAO.

I dunno, I feel like ME3 gets a pass in a way that DA2 doesn't. In all reality, ME3 is an above average shooter that people back because of the franchise. But it's more flawed than ME1 and ME2. The only thing it gets better is the gunplay and cinematics. But if that's what I wanted, I'd play Gears of War. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed ME3 until the ending, but that enjoyment is built on previous emotional investment, not really anything that Bioware did better from 2 to 3.

If dragon age 2 was a straight up spin off made by another company like Obsidian rather then an alleged sequel, it wouldn't have gotten nearly as much backlash. So where the previous games help Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age Origins sort of damns Dragon Age 2.

I can see both angles. Dragon Age 2 fans didn't get a real sequel, while ME3 fans didn't get a good conclusion. But I still think ME3 is more of a let down. DA2 was always obviously a departure from DA:O.

ME3 all the way. I knew the flaws of DA2 but it didnt make me rage and despair like ME3's ending.

DA2. Awful. Especially the story. Oh, and being stuck in Kirkwall all game. Oh, and the recycled environments.

Overall DA2 was a bigger letdown, and objectively worse. But ME3's suckage was almost completely concentrated to the ending, so it feels more painful.

ME3 was the bigger of the two disappointments by a longshot - to the point where I am now reconsidering my longstanding devotion to Bioware. Since 1998 I have bought everything they've made except for two: MDK2 and Sonic Chronicles. With this fiasco I don't believe they deserve my faith. I am sure I am not alone in that fact.

DA2 they got some things right - the character relationships primarily were a large improvement over the first game. I was drawn into the game despite my initial reluctance of playing a character I didn't create.
I actually am in the minority when it comes to playing a named character - it allows for more personality to be developed. I like that Hawk is the Dragon Age version of Shepherd in that you can be male or female, be one of x number of classes, and the character can be voiced. I did wish I could be elven or dwarven, it would have added another level of playability. I would have also liked less reuse of dungeons, but then I believe everyone has mentioned that already...

ME3 just felt from the start that they put my decisions to the side and directed the narrative as they wished. As if they lost the understanding of the difference between a novel and a game. Throughout the entire series we were told: Save your game files! Don't delete anything! But in the end it didn't really matter, at least none of the important and tough decisions that caused much debate online did.

So yeah ME3 is definitely the worst of the two...I would be cynical and say DA3 would be the worst as it is following in the footsteps of the two worst games in Bioware's history. But perhaps they can turn it around.

I enjoyed DAO, though I did have some technical issues with it.  After playing the DA2 demo, I wasn't impressed at all.  I waited on reviews from friends, and they all rated it low to mediocre.  I eventually decided that DA2 wasn't for me and I'm glad that I didn't buy it.

ME3 was a big letdown to me because of the ending.  The overall game has a few flaws, but I enjoyed playing it, except for the ending.  There's two reasons that make it such a disappointment for me.  One is that I thought Bioware did a pretty good job with the rest of the game, and was really enjoying the ride along the way.  Secondly is that it's the end of an entire trilogy.  Of all things to screw up, they screw up the ending to the entire trilogy.  Kinda hard for me to forgive.

I actually enjoyed DA2 quite a bit, the only gripe I had was the reuse of dungeons over and over. But the gameplay was fun, and the characters were fun as well.

ME3 was a bigger letdown because I had high expectations for the endings. I felt like DA2 was supposed to be a cliffhanger, to lead on to DA3. So I wasn't disappointed. ME3 was like a punch to the gut. There were some things that felt rushed, for example the handling of Jack and Thane romances, the lack of hubs where you could go around exploring. (ME2 had 3, Illium, Omega, Citadel. But I suppose the war with the reapers was preventing us from going anywhere but the Citadel). The gameplay was fantastic, it was only the ending that really pulled me into a depression. I felt cheated, unlike in DA2.

ME3. I like many other can understand and accept DA2 faults, just like I did with DAO many faults.

ME3 had issues, mostly various forms of excessive railroading that I would've probably never have complained about much but couple that with the ending and it's just such a huge letdown and gut punch.
