IF DAO was "real life" and you could only die ONCE...how far would you have gotten in the game?

If it was me personally, I would have tripped and ended on the steps leading up to the platform with the pedestal that sends you into the fade for the first time in the mage origins (the one for the harrowing).

If it was my character, I would have probably made it all the way through.

In before the "ZOMG I FINIZHED TEH GAEM ON NITEMAER SOLO NO DEATZH LOL ZOMG DPS!" crowd.

By the way, ZOMG I FINIZEHD TEH GAEMZ ON NITEMAR SOLO MAEG CASTIN NO SPELZ NO POTS AND NO DEATZH AN NO STATZ NO ARMORZ LOL ZOMG DPS PWNCATZ.

*coughs*

;)

On my first play through, the enemies you meet after nightfall at the human original got me.

I would ****** my pants the whole way. Still, I would have at least survived the Audecan Thaig. The Tower of Ishal might be the real problem. I'll think about this more.

The Ogre in Ostagar.
It's one of only two fights so far in the game I've found genuinely challenging, but that fight was hard.
I wonder if it would be easier if I weren't playing a mage. The only significant damage I could really do to it was with the Walking Bomb DoT, and that drew way too much aggro, so my mage always died first.

Might be. I found it tough as hell with my mage, Al, and two no-names from Ostagar.

This time, with a Rogue as my main, Dog, Al, and a no-name mage, we kicked its butt with no one falling.

For me, a group of bandits in Lothering (not the ones on the bridge). There I was, expecting to wipe the grass with brigand corpses and happily collect my pay... I was surprised to find bandits who weren't wussies for once. Taught me to be wary of archers in open places with nothing to hide behind. >.>

Since I'm a user of Greatswords, it might not be that hard to kill an Ogre. Still, I don't know how I'll get though all those Darkspawn before the Ogre.

Real life?

Human Noble: Killed in my sleep during the invasion in Castle Cousland.

Mage: Killed in the Harrowing.

City Elf: Stabbed by the Arl's brat when he was annoying the women.

Dalish Elf: Killed by starting peasants.

Dwarven Noble: Poisoned long before the start because I bugged the wrong noble, else to the first critter in the proving. Moved wrong, and BLAM! Splattered on the floor.

Dwarven Commoner: Stabbed by whats-is-face at the very beginning.

I've done martial arts for 4 years. I would have fallen to the first or second enemy in an origin of your choice. Well, perhaps not to the giant rats..

I would've died fighting a pack of wolves while traveling from Lothering to somewhere else.

This.

That encounter is FREAKING ridiculous.  How exactly does a bunch of wolves ambush you just as you somehow stumbled into a whole mess of leg hold traps and yet every single wolve is magically immune to those traps?

Hum...Real life as me in real life > Probably first fight...

As a Cousland Noble son, my first mage encounter in Kocarie Wilds. Mother F'er opens up with a fireball and then runs away. I got caught in one of the traps and got backstabed while trying to catch up to him and that's when I figured out that all party members had access to the Inventory loot (Potions) lol.

First Playthrough, Howe's Liutenent in Castle Cousland... in hard diff (made to level 15 and restarted. I had learned a bit how to play and wanted a full run with that knowledge). Second, can't remember but I had a total 20 in the end... hard diff. Third one with same char, Nightmare, lvl 17, I am still undead... oh, wait, let me rephrase that! I'm still invictus! That sounds better!

Else, I'd need to be level 90+ and have an HD crash with internet service interruption to lose my hardcore char... man, that hurts a lot when it happens for real... no pk'er, no monster could beat me... just Acts of God! Can't fight those!

That reminds me, I'd choose the Human Noble so I could die in Iona's arms. Go out with a smile on my face at least.

The wolves obviously laid the traps. They knew where not to step.

well knowing myself theres 1 of 2 things that would happen
i would have become a very powerful mage and raped everything or
i would have died trying to perform my first spell before the game even started although if i went with warrior id prolly would have swung my sword accidently cut my junk off and then cut my own head off to ease the pain

considering how high i was ranked in testing and yet reckless and criminal minded as a youth i probably would have been some type of mage/rogue hybrid that just doesnt exist in the confines of this game.

not sure how far i would have made it, but chances are i would have more issues with being hunted down by the chantry than actually getting through the normal encounters.
