IF DAO was "real life" and you could only die ONCE...how far would you have gotten in the game?

First floor of the Tower of Ishal would have ended my journey

Got through the mage origin story and Ostagar without dying. Had some close calls in the Tower, but potions + heal spell worked.

First death was defending Redcliffe from the undead. Failed on the second wave after the knight calls you down into the other part of the village.

I would have gotten myself sliced and diced by bandits @ Lothering

Probably after all the lies I said to Morrigan and Leliana to get laid with both of them. If one wouldn't kill me the other one certainly would. I would fear them way more than Archdemon.

I probably would have died in my Origin :)

Oh wait you mean if DA:O worked like real life. Not if our real selves were transported to the world of Dragon Age- how long we would last.

Hmmm I would probably last around the Ogre...if I managed to make it past him...I would definitely say random encounter with wolves.

Not exactly a good idea to put this in the spoiler-free forum.

So, minor spoiler alert.

I've only been playing on Hard and had my first full party death because of the dragonling in the Brecilian ruin.

Also, my main character's first (permanent) injury was somewhere in that darn Circle tower. (I went first into the Brecilian Forest until the dragonling, then to Redcliffe, then to the Tower, then back to Connor/Fade, then to Orzammar, then to parts of the Deep Roads and then I was traveling all over the place.)

By the way, Dwarf Commoner is the only origin in which my PC suffered an injury. ^^

As a single PC death - many places just in the Origin/Ostagar areas for many of the PCs I have played there. As a full party death - the ogre is probably the most frequent place. I have taken at least one character through the origin/Ostagar with no PC death.
Once I complete the game at least once I look forward to attempting some "no reload campaigns" in DA:O as I used to attempt them in BG and ID2. Image IPB

Lets see...

In game, my first death came...I think in a random encounter with bandits. I made it all the way through the Cousland origin, past Ostagar and the wilds, past Lothering, and died on the road because of a dirty arrow to the leg that stuck me, followed by a fireball.

If we're talking real life dying with your party, that didn't happen all the way until the High Dragon at, well, no spoilers so I'll leave it at that. I was completely 100% utterly unprepared for the encounter, had like 3 health paultices, no lyrium, and yeah...dead.

I think however if it were me at the beginning, I would've died in the castle, because I would've answered the door over Iona...

I've died so many times I lost count (I tend to get careless in battles until I straighten up and figure out a plan), but I know I made it to Lothering without dying the first time...

If this was real? I would just have accepted my forced marriage and tried to get on with life and never even dream of trying to fight darkspawn. However, thankfully its not real!

Not far I would be conscripting everyone and anyone into the grey wardens however as they would be consistently dying.

DA cant work like reallife and we cant be ourselves literally, otherwise there cant be blight, magic, elves etc.

I think the first time I died in the game was in the mage origin. I was a tad too careless in the sidequest with the spiders and died at the spot where you have to navigate very carefully not to get two of them. And I got two of them, one overwhelmed me, and it was over.

I would've been toast at the entrance to the tower at ostagar - had a rough time getting past the first room.

Indeed, that spot is harder than the Ogre, IMHO. :D

Well since "I'm kind of a big deal" I got through to the end and ended the blight.....without dying.....ever.

Knowing my lack of physical strength, I probably would not have survived the Origin story...laugh all you I want, I admit to my shortcomings!

You completed the entire game, without your main character ever falling in battle? This ofc includes: quicksave, die, quickload, live!

Corresponding to my last post..
Doesn't that just mean you loaded an earlier save every time you died?
I would like to know, because if it even counts deaths when you do that, i shall be saving myself the effort of trying to get the "I'm kind of a big deal" challenge.

hmm if it was real life i would have died of blood loss or maybe it will cause a crash coz i wont pop out infront of the highwaymen in lothering lol. i just dont like big obvious roads.

thinking about it, i would have not killed the 1st ogre, sprinting around the room just to light the signal and high tail out lol

in real life, hmmmm

Ok dalish elf origin Supposing that I was a wildlife experienced elf :

At first i would rob the village boys and send them back home. Then i would declare the elf cave a historical monument and I would became the president of the Dalish cultural bureau. Then I would send my camp's best men with Duncan with the excuse that must give more important political battles and forge an alliance with the darkspawn by giving some criminal citizens to be possesed by demons while I cept them in prison. Then I would take a big loan for the reconstruction of all the monuments and of course I would benefit by all these money. Also I would just buy Morrigans Hut in the woods and marry her no matter what she wanted cos i would have her mother killed. And after these and many more that i dont have the time to explain i would declare myself the king of the world . Thank you.

Me as myself? I probably wouldn't even have made to the start of the dwarf commoner origin story (first playthrough). As a character I fell a couple of times during the dwarf commoner origin story.

You can try it in Mexico op. Go to a really heavy drug trade area and bring 3 of your best cop to clear the drug dealers : D

what quest should i call that? hmm : P

as for your question. I would first get myself a full God-Mod equipments + a love potion and set it to "super easy" mod in Human Noble.

any question?
