My paragon lost Legion in ME2. I chose paragon in ME3 and the Quarians were wiped out.

So you'd spare TIM's life before EDI's?

No, don't play specifics.  You can't judge any group on the actions of a single being or group within them.

If I had the choice to destroy all synthetics in existence or wipe out a single organic race, I'd destroy the synthetics.  That's all I'm saying.

The decisions in ME3 are less paragon/renegade, they are more kill one race, or kill another.

Neither, because as much as I wanted to R/P the game and be free to make decisions I needed to see that War Asset number climb.

I don't think you get paragon or renegade points for either choice. I killed the geth and don't recall getting any renegade points.

Anyway, I always found it kind of unnerving how people brag about committing genocide on a fictional race. Even if it is fictional it's just kind of... creepy you know.

Fair enough. But if that same race created the synthetics in the first place, then proceeded to wage an idiotic, recklesss war against them on top trying to kill you, I'd wipe out the organic race.

So it's right to punish an entire race for the mistakes of their ancestors and for the work of a handful of callous politicians?

Damn, we should've nuked all of Germany after WWII. Would've taught those Germans a thing or two!

PS: Peace between the two races is the preferable scenario. It's wrong to kill off either of them, war assets or no.

Geth > Quarians by a long shot, but I made peace between the two. Every race deserves redemption, and while most in-game seemed to think that was the Geth, I found it was the Quarians. :)

Couldn't resist a chuckle when the Quarians were destroyed. They are like the playground bullies who picked on the skinny kid only to find that he has superpowers. Tali's death shocked me though. Didn't expect that at all.

1st playthrough I made a mistake and missed the fighter mission. I started having Legion do the upgrade but when Tali couldn't get her idiotic people to stop the attack I told Legion to the stop. I just couldn't stand being the one to kill off her people. Even if most the Admirals deserved to be shot.
2nd run I made peace between the two.

The first playthrough, my imported Shep didn't save Legion, so she had to kill the Geth.

My second, I created a new, warrior-type Shep who favored the Geth, so the Quarians had to lie in the bed they made.

I saved them both on my first playthrough. Currently doing a renegade / not-very-nice playthrough and I plan on having the quarians die. I guess I'll also be killing the geth when I get to the end if the endings aren't fixed by then too.

Let's see on one side, there's the Quarians who have spent the last 300 years getting shat on by the galaxy for things their ancestors did. They found what seemed like a sure shot at taking their home planet back and took it in the hopes of maybe making their lives not an unending parade of racism and mockery from every other race.

On the other hand you've got the Geth, who are isolationist and peaceful unless provoked. But it didn't take very long for them to throw out their "we want our own future" thing out the window and sign up with the genocidal mechanical abominations. On top of that, they could have avoided this war at any time in the last 300 years by realising that they don't need Rannoch. They were pretty much holding on to that planet as a big middle finger to the quarians. If the Geth had just sent a message to them decaring "We're not actually mass murdering machines like we let you believe until now. We've abandoned Rannoch and you can have it back. We're gonna go build our Geth superstructure in some uninhabited system no one wants." the war never would have happened.

The quarians may have poor timing for starting the war, but the geth are far more at fault for having the ability to prevent the war for centuries and never doing it.
