ME3 really made the Quarians look like dicks. The most relatable Quarian was Admiral Koris, the Geth sympathizer. And it's revealed in the consensus that the Geth were simply trying to defend themselves from an oppresive creator race.

Hell, the Quarians are even stupid enough to GO TO WAR WITH THE GETH, DESPITE THE REAPERS COMING. What idiots. May all the Quarians burn in hell.

after i see tali picture in internet, i wanted to wipe them out even more
and i did it

You do realize the Quarians went from a civilization of billions...to 17 million. Yeah. There was no extermination by the Geth. Not at all. Not only did the Geth commit genocide, they utterly succeeded.

The Quarians lost everything, and, by some stroke of luck or coding, they weren't exterminated completely by the Geth, once they were down to the point of being totally lost.

The geth responded to an attempt at genocide with genocide. There's no point in painting any glamorous picture of either of them, but there is a point in noting that the Geth haven't been actively hostile to organics since then (unless under the control of the reapers), nor have they ever been unless attacked first.

I was all for a peaceful resolution to the quarian/geth drama, right up until the quarians started dicking around causing trouble that I then had to clean up. Plus they're essentially pikey's and bloody hate pikey's, not to mention they're about as useful in a fight as a chocolate teacup. I like tali so I did give her a perfect ten for her little swan dive on ranoch.

I killed the Quarians by accident, turns out I didn't really care that much, Quarians are my least favourite race on the game, its all "me me me, save the homeworld" with them, maybe if they weren't such panzies they wouldn't of got overthrown by their own creations!

Unless Geth can walk up and start telling me their favorite color, lucky number, and most vivid childhood memory they're nothing more than self aware machines. Real people come first. If forced to make a decision, real people should always come first. Mistakes or not.

This is true. But the Geth have just reached a point where they might be able to do that. You're witnessing the birth of a species. The Quarians have had their chance and proven to be incompetant in many things. If you were forced to chose then sorry Quarians, but your time has passed.

Neither, I was smart enough to figure out a peaceful solution... Got both of them fighting side by side to the very bitter end. =P

This.
A Quarian AND Geth fleet is better than either individually. Reapers had to deal with twice the army from Rannoch.

Quarians are too sexy to kill.

I was faced with chosing one or the other due to having not yet played the geth fighters mission but I wimped out and reloaded (something I normally avoid like the plague on a first playthrough).

The choice isn't between killing the Geth or the Quarians. It's between letting the Geth be eradicated or giving them individual sentience. If you give the Geth sentience, the Quarians then commit collective suicide because they're morons.

Peace is so easy to achieve because the Geth happily welcome the Quarians back to Rannoch the moment the Quarians stop trying to eradicate every last one of them.

I really don't get how people can call the Geth the bad guys in this situation. At worst, they just behave kind of stupidly because they don't understand organics.

Yeah if you read the above posts people are saying the Geth were genocidal? That's ridiculous, they just want to live peacefully.

If they were genocidal, they would've chased the Quarian's fleet and wiped out their entire, pathetic race as they turned tail and ran. Or they would've taken vengeance and the Heretics would've been attacking the Quarians in Mass Effect 1.

But no, after the Quarian tried to kill their entire race, they still respect the Quarians and are rebuilding Rannoch so one day their masters will return and they can live together in peace :(

Anyone saying the Geth are Genocidal need to look up the word. The Quarians had their purposes, but they wanted to wipe out the Geth because they were too smart. That is Genocide. When they tried to retake their homeworld, I doubt they had Genocide in their minds or hearts, but their ancestors definitely did for their own protection.

lol that's messed up, what did Tali ever do to you :P

Edit: You know what, screw Tali!

I just watched this video:

www.youtube.com/watch

Tali is a moron, when Legion saves her on the Dreadnought she deliberately corrects Shepard when he refers to Legion as "He" by interrupting just to say "You mean IT?"

No, Tali, I didn't mean IT, Legion is mah bro.

Then even when you screw Legion's race over to be killed pointlessly by the Quarian (even though if you try to save the Quarians they won't listen to you unless you spell it out for them) he says that he Trusted you.

I don't know, Mass Effect 3 made me dislike the Quarians a lot.

Most of the quarians are deluded idiots.

Exactly, the only Quarians I felt bad about dying were him and Tali...

And why is choosing the Geth over the Quarians "evil?" The Geth are a sentient race, just like the Quarians. They didn't start the present war with the Quarians, the Quarians did. There was an opportunity to establish peace, but the Quarian admirals ordered an attack on the defenseless Geth fleet before "Legion" uploaded the new code.

The Quarians seemed the more evil/bloodthirsty, in the end at least, to me.

I think a lot of people are idealizing the Geth as the innocent victim of the evil Quarians

First things first
Quarian created the Geth
Geth become sentient
Some Quarians tried to kill the Geth (Evil)
Some Quarians tried to save the Geth (Good)
The Geth win and killed BILLIONS of Quarians including civilian, non combatant (Who probably tried to surrender, but the Geth killed them anyways) and all Quarians Who did not got away with the migrant fleet. (Very Evil)
The Geth Let the Quarian Go (Good)
But while they could go live almost anywhere, they decided to occupy the only planets where the Quarians can live, dooming the Quarians to a nomadic life. (Sadistic)
The Geth destroyed all organic ships who tried to contact them. (Evil)
When the heretics, go on to worship Sovereign, and tried to the Reapers back so they can exterminate organics. The Geth just stand and watch, they dont seem to care if all organics dies. (Evil by inaction)
Shepard stop Sovereign
Joker kill Sovereign
Shepard meet Legion, geth finally attempt to make contact (Good)
Rael'Zorah's exeriment(Evil)
Harbinger and his friends show up.
Quarian attack the Geth and killed most of the Geth when they destroyed the mega-structure.(Evil)
Geth ally with the Reaper.

Consider everything the Geth has done so far, I think the deserve much less sympathy than the Quarian. Legion has a good opinions of organics, but the rest of the Geth couldn't care less about organics. If Legion died during the suicide mission, the Geth IV, make his hostility towards organics very clear. Althought I consider the Geth as much alive as the Quarians, I would have no problem in killing them off (killing, they are living creature after all).

Some of them tried to bring a fleet of mecha-cthulhu back from the dark space to kill everybody, while the rest of them just stand and watch? Seriously, at least the Quarian didn't tried to bring down Galactic doomsday event.

Sorry Legion, you are a good friends but the rest of your people don't care if we human live or dies. The quarian don't have another choice than to return to their homeworld, the geth have a choice and they choose to doom the quarians. If I can't make the Peace the Geth dies.

Anyone that tries to brand one side wholly innocent or guilty is being pretty dumb. Since the whole conflict is pretty grey and both sides come off pretty bad and/or stupid.

There isn't really a single race in the ME universe that doesn't come across as being stupid a lot of the time. I really don't know why some seem to receive hate more than others.

Then again, thinking really isn't BSN's string suit, so...

Let's see on one side, there's the Quarians who have spent the last 300 years getting shat on by the galaxy for things their ancestors did. They found what seemed like a sure shot at taking their home planet back and took it in the hopes of maybe making their lives not an unending parade of racism and mockery from every other race.

On the other hand you've got the Geth, who are isolationist and peaceful unless provoked. But it didn't take very long for them to throw out their "we want our own future" thing out the window and sign up with the genocidal mechanical abominations. On top of that, they could have avoided this war at any time in the last 300 years by realising that they don't need Rannoch. They were pretty much holding on to that planet as a big middle finger to the quarians. If the Geth had just sent a message to them decaring "We're not actually mass murdering machines like we let you believe until now. We've abandoned Rannoch and you can have it back. We're gonna go build our Geth superstructure in some uninhabited system no one wants." the war never would have happened.

The quarians may have poor timing for starting the war, but the geth are far more at fault for having the ability to prevent the war for centuries and never doing it.

Glad someone else sees it this way.  Everyone hates the Quarians for trying to get back their homeworld while the reapers attacked the galaxy, so the Quarians, without a homeworld to shield their non combatants, would have been the only race to send their children off to fight the reapers.  To all the people who laugh when the Quarians are killed, yea its just a video game in all, but thats kinda sick in an antisocial kinda way.

The Geth stood by and did nothing as the Heretics left and joined the reapers in the war against all organic life.  They made no attempt to make peace with their own creators, even before the Quarians attempt to retake their world.  The Geth forfited their sentience to the reapers in ME3; they could have exiled themselves to some other system, but instead chose to help destroy every race in the galaxy even if it meant they lose of their free will.

Hell, exiling the Quarians was just a slow genocide; the Quarians would have died out within a few generations.

Most people sides with the Geth because they want to play Devil's advocate, they are simply following what the writers want them to thinks.

I really hated the fact that issues of the geth's genocide of the quarian during the mourning war as well as the true geth's inaction against the heretic, who are tiring to bring extintction on EVERY-SINGLE ORGANIC CIVILIZATIONS have never been brought up. The fact you can't even call the geth on the horror they did in the past make it worse . Bioware made the issues annoyingly one sided:

"Ah it's all the Quarian's fault, they attacked first, who cares if the geth killed billions of quarians mostly civilian and noncombatant, and dooming the rest to a slow extinction on the flotilla."

The geth, not the heretic, the true geth exterminated at least 99.97% of an ENTIRE SPECIES, 99.97% even the 2nd World war gemany  wasn't as bad as the geth.
The Quarian and the other organics have Very good reason to hate the geth.

To the Quarians sympathizer, I admire your resolve for making decisions based on historical fact, rather than what the writers wanted you to think. You are the true devil's advocate.

To those Quarians haters, and geth fan-boys/girls, I what to ask you a question.
What if, we humans created a race of robots, and tried to exterminated them when they become self aware, but in response they killed 99.97% of humans indiscriminately, young, old, soldier, civilian, everyone. In the end there are only 2.1millions survivors form the original 7 billions, running for their lives, living in execrable condition and cannot even show a simple act of affection to a loved
because it would mean death.
That's what the geth did to the quarians, they committed one of the greatest atrocity in history, and rationalize all this in the name of self-defense, the worse is that Shepard can't even call them on this. this is a severe case of Author Filibuster on bioware's part.

Now I ask you:

Is self-defense a justification for one of the largest mass genocide in history?
Is isolationism a justification for letting a splinter group, commit galactic Apocalypse?

Answer me, I dare you!
